  1. Hey all! I was just wondering, have you ever made anything for Mika? Did you send it to him or give it to him in person? Do you want to talk about it? We all know Mika fans are super smart, creative, and thoughtful! I'll start...I made this for him and hoped to him at his concert this month. Of course, I left before he came out! But, I'll still mail it.
  2. Hey guys! This IS a new song, he performed it in Philly, where I saw him. I realized it was new because it didn't sound remotely familiar and they warned us at the beginning of the show there would be new stuff. And, like you said, it also showed up on the set-list later. They told us not to film anything because they don't want his new music on YouTube. Since the place is small and they had quite a lot of security, especially at the front, it would have been hard to get away with, I guess.
  3. Thank you all for your various videos, this was wonderful! <3 <3 I never watch VH1 or MTV, so I wouldn't ever have known about the segment! (In the beginning he is just so cute, I love how he's all shy and modest. Like, Hi there! I'm handsome? Golly! My tickets are selling for $500 online? Oh my!)
  4. 1.) YES YES YES these photos are gorgeous! Thank you! 2.) Not to keep harping on this, but I did a quick double-take when I got to this part of his new interview with the Huffington Post..."I did a show last night in Philly at the Union Transfer. Someone was smoking the most nasty chronic pot in the front row, and all the smoke was coming on stage. Normally that doesn't bother me, but this was so chemically enhanced, and it blocked my brain, and I couldn't remember any of my lyrics and couldn't keep time on my piano. Only the front section understood what was happening. I was singing my song "Popular," and I stopped it three times. I got to the second verse three times and forgot what was supposed to happen next. I felt like I was 14 on a camping trip, smoking for the first time. Whoever was smoking that **** needs to sort themselves out." --> Couldn't agree more, darling. And I do feel bad it was so distracting and gross for him to deal with, of all the places I'm not surprised this happened in Philly. (And it's my city, so no offense to anyone!) But, let's end on a happy note...
  5. Haha yes, his tantrum was really cute. I mean, I think when most celebrities curse it's really casual and tasteless but Mika's honesty and little anecdotes and jokes are so disarming and charming. I especially enjoyed his quip about the "fragrance" that made him forget his lines! (For everyone else, someone brought/had smoked before coming in weed--or crack, I'm not an expert in drugs lol so I really don't know--and as soon as he made a comment or two people working at the venue starting snooping around.)
  6. In the words of Mika last night (his cursing is adorable) ****ERY ****ERY ****! I made him a needlepoint card and stuck around to buy a shirt but they started closing the doors and almost no one was left....when did he come out? >.< I'll have to mail it to him this week. But it was nice that you got to see him! I loved the whole show except I agree, the delay was unbearable; my friend I were dying and I was really surprised that he didn't say one or two "hello" words when he jumped on stage. But my guess was he wanted to get right into it so the show wouldn't finish late. Seriously, though, HOW did he sing so beautifully and (pretty much) non-stop without a serious water break?! Crazy!! <3 Mika, I can't wait to see you live again some day. I hope I can study abroad in Europe and see you there soon! Thanks for coming to our not-so-popular city!
  7. I spy...my new Facebook cover photo! Thanks for the screencap!
  8. Hah, that's funny, my post was censored because I used the word "C.O.C.K"in proper context [to raise your eyebrow] and not in a way to refer to a bodily part...*facepalm* ~~Although, I see your point, in the "Official Backstage Video" I'd say he was being pretty flat lol.
  9. Personally, I think he's just as cute as ever, and as for being dull or giving a fake laugh, not to sound rude but I don't think so. He constantly describes himself as a naturally shy person when not in his performing sort of mood and while we all love him when he's energetic and bubbly (which I think is most of the time when we see him in videos and such), he's not going to be bouncing around whooping it up at all times. He still seems happy to me, just mellow. That's just my opinion. I'd be more concerned about him "selling out" by becoming part of some advertising campaign--NOT that I'm saying that's happening, I'm just pointing out that I would have thought that was something more pressing to be worried about. I usually **** an eyebrow skeptically when a celebrity becomes a face or spokesperson for something, but I feel like in Mika's case he picks up projects because he wants to and not because there's a price tag attached. (And hey, I'm not a man but if those Hugo Boss ads had run in the States I may well have bought myself a bottle of cologne hehehe...)
  10. His hair is growing back out! Seeing that made me a happy bunny. ^_______^ So nice of him to send his fans a little message, he's so gracious. I'm especially interested in his song collaborations to be revealed... Can't wait to see him next month!
  11. I love how American English and British English differ so much in structure and word usage. It keeps things interesting (and romantic sometimes). Once a teacher at my school declaredthere wasn't too much difference between modern American and British culture, clearly all her years as a literature teacher had done her a lot of good *ahem*. But anyway, the column. Yep, excited! I too think his family narratives are wonderful.
  12. HI ALL! Thanks so much for your insightful and humorous replies. I've decided on a pattern, I'll make him a small cross-stitch and give him a card in some simple packaging or maybe a gift bag, nothing crazy in case they randomly frisk his gifts or whatever.
  13. Your comment about propositioning him in my card had me in peals of giggles! It's a tempting idea, but don't worry, I'll refrain. (Especially since sometimes I wonder if girls actually understand he's not "on the market" and he doesn't want them drooling all over him in a romantic way; he must get weirded out sometimes by overenthusiastic fangirls...) As for your second remark, haha, good point! I've no doubt Americans can be some of the craziest of the crazy, but it's not all of us. I'm sure he's used to every kind or rambunctious fan. I can only imagine it must be somewhat better for him here since he's not big in the US compared to Europe, Asia, or elsewhere. And I certainly don't think he's obligated to stay after gigs, so hopefully he'll stay for a bit, but if not he deserves a break. <3
  14. I laughed out loud at the socks comment! I mean, I bet Mika's the best authority. He matches socks and suspenders like no others. --> Random question from an ignorant American...is "braces" the typical English term for suspenders?
  15. I'm so incredibly excited because my friend and I were able to snag tickets to see Mika in the spring! I've heard fans like to give him gifts sometimes; I was thinking about making him a small cross-stitch (needlepoint) because that's one of my hobbies and maybe give him a card or something. Maybe. What do you guys think is appropriate? Have any of you given him anything in person? Do you know if he has any rules of etiquette about this? (I know he has a fanmail address)... I've been dreaming of having the opportunity to see him, so screwing up or being embarrassed would suck!
