  1. I just wanted to add a few of my thoughts since this was my first time seeing Mika perform live (in fact this was my first ever concert). I'm a student and I had to get up at a ridiculous time to get back in time for my classes, but it was so worth it and I would do it all again in a heartbeat. I was completely blown away by the show. Firstly, can I just say (in case anyone had forgotten): Mika sings really well. Like, REALLY well. Just putting that out there. (Seriously though, he sings so well??) I don't think it ever really hit me that someone could actually hit those notes, consistently, song after song after song. On Sunday night, it finally hit me. I really don't know how he does it. I thought artists weren't supposed to be as good live as they are in the studio? Essentially, my very high expectations were exceeded. Secondly, I loved how he altered the songs, not just musically but sometimes even lyrically (as with Big Girl and We Are Golden). Hearing a song like Grace Kelly - which I've probably listened to hundreds of times - sung in a new way reminds me of how it felt to hear it for the very first time - I'm sure we all wish we could replicate that experience! I still remember the first time I heard that song, and the surge of joy I felt at the time. I can remember dancing around my room blasting it through my headphones. I loved the idea of shape shifting, being "anything you like". That's the same feeling of empowerment I felt listening to all those songs played live. He put so much energy and emotion into every performance. I was thrilled when he chose to sing No Place in Heaven, Big Girl, and Good Wife as the first three songs, since these are all particular favourites of mine. I also thought it was a really good choice to end on Love Today, as the whole crowd was really getting into it and it was a great one to finish with: we were in full-on party mode. I thought there was a great combo of old and new songs, and I was really pleased that he sang some less well-known tracks (Over My Shoulder, Boum Boum Boum). I was worried he might not sing any French songs so this made me extra happy. I would have loved to have heard some other songs too, such as Toy Boy, All She Wants, Ordinary Man, and Elle Me Dit (this was the song which first introduced me to Mika's music and so holds a special place in my heart) but of course the list is endless. I thought the set list was fantastic, really good choices. As Kasia said, before singing Boum Boum Boum he first taught us three French words: piano, coeur, philosophie. His interactions with the audience were both adorable and hilarious - I was in "Hell" like most people here, row S to be exact. I'd been worried it'd be too far back to see, but my friend and I had a great view, and everyone around us was dancing and going wild. One of my favourite moments was when he sang some of Happy Ending without the microphone. It was magical. I really hope Mika returns to the UK for more gigs some time soon. When he does, I know I'll be there. P.S. A massive thank you to everyone involved in organising and creating the various signs and pictures people held up during the TAY, LP, and at the end of the show. It was a lovely touch.
  2. I got seats for my friend and me in row S (stalls), I'm so thrilled! This will be my first Mika concert. Sorry to hear people have been having difficulty getting good seats, it sounds like a mess. I had difficulties getting my credit card processed, but thankfully didn't lose my seats. I hope everyone who wants to come manages to get tickets.
  3. Both the song and the video are absolutely beautiful. I am so impressed by the emotional depth and the different layers of meaning. Really happy.
  4. Wow, this is so exciting! We finally have a release date! It's great to have all these track titles. I'm trying to guess what they might be about. Will the Good Guys remix be the version with different lyrics? I hope so...
  5. I think at the end of the video he sings "And I don't care..." but I can't hear the rest.
  6. Thank you to all the members for making my first year on the MFC so wonderful. I wish you all the best in the new year.
  7. Thanks so much - I hadn't seen this before! It's a great story.
  8. I love this new song. It makes me really excited for the new album. His voice sounds amazing, of course.
