  1. That's what I'm hoping for, haha! See you all tomorrow
  2. One more day!! To the people that are going to be there in the afternoon (2pm-ish?) See you in the queue (if some tall blond girl stands behind you in the queue and starts talking to you because she's alone - that's me.)
  3. Queuing on the streets of Amsterdam at night? That indeed is a very, very bad idea.
  4. Thank you I'm going to ask my sister if she's okay with meeting up there, in that case I could join the early afternoon queue. As long as I'm not alone of course, I'd like to know if someone's gonna be there and at what time so that I have someone to talk to I'm assuming they wouldn't ban my sister from joining me once she gets there, though?
  5. As far as I know, cameras are allowed (as long as they're not professional, i.e. cameras on which you can change the lenses - which you can't). Maybe Mika has a different policy, but I don't think so. I'm also used to getting an email that explains the specific house rules for the event I'm attending, so we might still get one? Edit: In the FAQ they say: (Dutch) "Mogen (digitale) camera's naar binnen? Hoewel het fotograferen met mobiele telefoons nauwelijks is tegen te gaan, is fotograferen bij een concert officieel niet toegestaan. Het meenemen van digitale fotocamera's, selfie-sticks, professionele camera’s, film-, geluids-, go pro toestellen en andere beeldopnameapparatuur is niet toegestaan. Afhankelijk van het type show / artiest kunnen camera's geweigerd worden." (English) "Can I take photographs during the event? Although we cannot prohibit the use of mobile phones, it is officially not allowed to take photographs during an event. It is prohibited to bring (digital) cameras into the building and they will therefore be confiscated upon entrance. Cameras can be picked up from security after the event. We refer to your ticket for more information about the do's and don't regarding photography."
  6. Thanks for explaining! How would he know who's on MFC though, by the buttons? I don't have a button.. Anyway, I don't know what my day will look like, I don't think it's fair to my sister to tell her "I'll meet you there" when she's coming with me and I'm the big fan. But she has school until 16:30 (in Amsterdam though, so we don't have to travel far, but still...)
  7. I've never been to a Mika gig before, what is that queuing with numbers?
  8. Hm.. I have the day off but I'm going with my sister, and she has to go to school first... I don't want to be extremely late
  9. Thank you so much! I was hoping we'd get to see the Grace Kelly performance as well The second link doesn't work for me though, but the first one does
  10. If you're at Central Station, the metro number 54 is a very good option to take you to Bijlmer ArenA. The train takes you in 15 minutes, the metro in 17 minutes, but as far as I'm concerned, the metro is much cheaper. At what time is everyone planning on going there, to queue?
  11. Well, I think we can be proud that he is named And who knows, if we try our best...
  12. Oh sorry, you can connect through Facebook internationally... Sorry I misread, because you can only vote with your phone number if you're from France. Sorry! So everyone, go vote!
  13. You can click on Votez and then you have to click on Valider.. but only people from France can vote. French MFCers, go VOTE!!
  14. I'm glad it's not on Monday, when I have classes! I am even more excited after seeing Mika on tv in Paul de Leeuw's show (I couldn't go to the recording so I'm glad I have this gig to look forward to!)
  15. It is a bit of a weird name for a show, but then... Paul de Leeuw is weird (throwing beers is not a weekly thing here in case you were wondering. At least, not for me. I do have the strangest desire to go throw beers with Mika now, though....)
  16. The show is called "Kun je het al zien?" (Can you already see it?) I've finally watched it, or, I fast-forwarded to the Mika parts Loved the duet, and that coming from me (I strongly dislike both Dutch songs and Paul de Leeuw's voice).. but Mika singing in Dutch made my week
  17. Two of my screen caps from Vivement Dimanche, today
  18. I haven't received mine yet either! I bought them through MFC and when I go check Seetickets it says "We are awaiting delivery of tickets for this event. As soon as they are in stock we will send them to you." So I guess they're still coming... I hope they will arrive soon!
  19. Okay! I have secretly finished it already because I was bored Defaced billboard Mika unleashes campaign against gay hate Yesterday, popstar Mika (31) unleashed a huge campaign against gay hatred on social media by posting a picture of a defaced billboard for his concert online. On the billboard in the Italian town of Firenze the word 'frocio'(faggot) had been sprayed in black graffiti. Also the face of the flamboyant singer had been made black. "I'm not afraid of people that discriminate", writes Mika, who has been in a relationship with documentary-maker Andreas Dermanis since 2007, on Twitter. "Love does what it wants." When the popular British-Lebanese singer saw the billboard, he initially did not want to say something about it. "To me it seemed best to ignore the hate, that I know very well, of some people," he wrote. "But you are right. We break the silence." Countless twitterers heard that call. The hashtag #rompiamoilsilenzio ('break the silence') that had been called to life by Mika, was a trending topic for hours and is still used a lot. As a protest, the singer replaced all of his profile pictures with pictures of the defaced billboard. The mayor of Firenze, too, has voiced his support for Mika, who is a coach on the Italian X Factor and the French The Voice. "I have had the billboard, defaced by cowards, removed immediately", writes Dario Nardella on Twitter. "Firenze is not homophobic, but an open city." Not the first time This is not the first time that Mika, who is a passionate protagonist for equality, has to deal with gay hate. A few years ago, he was at a restaurant with his family when he got discriminating and agressive comments from other costumers. "The owners of the place started to play my songs so loudly that we couldn't even talk to each other anymore", he said to Le Parisien. (Editor's note: They got the name of the hashtag wrong. Dumb mistake. Thanks to Laura (Alyara) for pointing it out.)
  20. Hahah! Is anyone already translating that? Ilse? If not, I can do it.
  21. Agreed. To me it sounds like a duet with himself or something... The French is recorded differently and just thrown into the English song. It sounds really nice in French though, but the way this is produced leaves me feeling weird.
  22. Mika likes to invent words, the more you translate him, the more you'll understand what he means and which word he uses for what It's a constant struggle in the Subs team chat! As is trying to come up with good translations of his mistakes, especially when it has (accidentally or not) a double meaning. But that all makes it even more fun
