  1. Welcome you've joined a fun community of fans here. I hope you have a fantastic time at the concert in July
  2. Oh Canada.... I feel the need to sing today but I fear that I may cause permanent hearing loss to my poor work colleagues! I'm riding in the Heart&Stroke Foundation Big Bike Challenge this afternoon, I haven't been on a bike in ages, my walk may look rather odd tomorrow LOL. Happy Day everyone
  3. even on the gloomiest of days Mika's music makes me daydream of the sunniest of days :)

  6. maybe one day when he's 60 he'll grace Alberta, Canada with a live show...a couple octaves lower by then lol but still fab...but of course!
  7. I visited LA the first time about 20+ years ago for a couple nights so this will be my second trip. I'll be attending a conference for the first week and then I've extended my stay for a second week when I heard Mika would do a club style gig. I've never seen Mika in this type of venue so I'm excited to experience the show .
  8. Anyone travelling solo and want to share a hotel room on May 6th? I'll be arriving in LA on April 28th for a conference and I fly out on May 8th so if anyone wants to share a room for more than just one night please let me know, otherwise I'm looking for something closer to the venue for May 6th at least. If anyone already has a booking and is looking to lower costs by sharing then I'm happy to chat
  9. Yay! This sounds like an adventure I hope all goes well and thanks in advance to all those working hard behind the scenes on this A few questions: 1. Will the new site have a similar chat capability? There a few of us regular chatters that use it quite often. 2. Will we keep the fun and wacky emoticons? 3. Will we need to sign up again with new passwords? 4. Will our private messages also transfer over? 5. Will this site still remain accessible but perhaps not updateable after the transfer? (as a reference site in case any info does get lost) That's all I can think of for now, wishing you all a wonderful weekend and a stress-free move very soon.
  10. They played GK when we both walked into the Bay in Montreal the day before. Do you still have the video? You should post it
  11. Hi there Aayame, I'll be going alone and I don't know LA at all so I'd love to meet up with you and anyone else willing to get together.
  12. YAY! I'm sorry, please forgive me I so terrible with names...did I meet you in Montreal?
  13. Thanks but it won't be the same without you two there, I so wish you could both come out.
  14. So happy Deb posted about the USA gigs! I just got a ticket for the LA one I'm super excited! Such fantastic timing since I'll be in LA the week before for a conference anyways so I'll just extend my stay a few days YAY!!! Anyone else going to LA?
  15. LOL ok so I'm feeling very ditsy right now , I just pm'd Suzy who is the Central Canada rep saying hi and also saying how I just found out there's a Canadian thread...then I come here and realize that in Feb I found it and got just as excited about it and even posted!!! I completely forgot ...but it looks like I haven't missed much since then.
  16. I'm with you all on this, I adore that title! Thoughtful title.
  17. Just heard it! good lyrics, super catchy, but not as melodic as past Mika tunes, but of course I love it It's new, it's fresh, it has set up house in my brain, it makes me want to dance, truly...what's not to love Now I have to go...need to listen to it again...
  18. Hello Hyejee Very nice to virtually meet you. I just attended my first Mika concert in February this year and what a treat that was! You're going to love him singing live, he's so good! MFCers are wonderful people and I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here. If you find some time between your exams then stop into our chat room, we often meet up in the evenings there. (evenings for me in Canada LOL not sure what time that would be for you but just test it out one day) Welcome!
  19. OH MY GOODNESS!!! there's a Canadian thread!!! I never even thought to look for one! This is super exciting I'm from Edmonton, Alberta. Not too much Mika news makes it all the way out here so I'm grateful for the MFC community. So happy to see fellow Canadians on here, perhaps there might be a few in my part of the prairies? Wishing you all well Kat.
  20. Found it please disregard my earlier question
  21. Hi there is there a place I can watch the full episodes?
  22. Agree with you Deb on leaning towards "hear", but hadn't thought of the rise of Mercury to convey morning...nice! Mamiam, I wondered about that too, Mika's ability to hide the story in plain sight in his lyrics really lets the listener apply his songs to a variety of contexts. Perhaps the current devastation in Syria and the human and political turmoil in that part of the world played an originating role in this song...his story telling intrigues me, it's just sublime.
  23. I'm pretty sure the "new" ending wasn't planned LOL but he played it well, very professional
