  1. Thanks @Cornélie Berté! I have indeed a good memory but for this concert, I took little notes for each song with the name of the song and a sumary of what Mika was saying or else, I tend to mix up with wich song he said that.
  2. Thanks a lot for posting all this pics and videos! I have a question: Do you know who these cheeky tongue and smile during the Grace Kelly video were adressed to (a section of the audience, one or two people in particular) and why? He looks like a naughty child!
  3. A very long and very detailled report, just what I love! And with videos at the right places! Thanks a lot for posting, @Anna Ko Kolkowska! It does indeed reminds me of my on experience in Montpellier!
  4. Thanks a lot @Kumazzz for your kind compliments. I'm definitively the blushing smiley in your emoji! Here the link of my Any Other World video: I hope it works correctly as it was my first try at uploading a Youtube video. If it doesn't work, don't hésitate to tell me!
  5. I’m sorry for the delay in the publishing of my report but I had a familly week-end following the gig and didn’t have much time to type the report. Anyway, let’s go for the report of my fifth Mika gig and by far the best. Like the other reports, it will not contain much about Mika’s suits or about the setting since I was again a 1.59m girl stuck behind a lot of taller people. Not much to say about the opening act. It was a female DJ who dit a set of electronic music. Not my taste but it slowly did liven up the audience. As usual, Mika was late. His gig was suposed to begin at 8pm. It began at a quarter to 9pm. And, as usual, Mika had an explanation for his lateness. The first song was Bougez. It began with the « firebird Mika in a cage » setting (I wish I had seen it better , it must have been stunning !). As for the song, my first thought when I heard « Bougez », last summer was that I was eager to hear it on stage as it promised to be a banger. Well, I confirm, it is ! Definitively, a song made for the stage. The second song was Apocalypse Calypso. As my favorite song from the new album, I couldn’t wait to hear it live and I loved it very much. The third song was a nice surprise : Talk about You. First time hearing it live and I liked it a lot. At the end of the song, he explained his lateness was not his fault but the audience’s who was late due to traffic jam (It’s true my bus got delayed due to traffic jam but I was there at 7pm and most of the audience was there by 8pm). Well, he said he was ready and waiting in the cage with the 35kg pair of wings on his back. So, his release (during Bougez) will have conséquences. The fourth song was Sweetie Banana. After finishing the song, he said his bow tie ? costume ? was perfect at start but was getting more and more messy as time goes by. He didn’t knew if it meant he wa getting less or more devilish. He also found several disguised or with props people in the audience : a carrot, a non identified costume, several giant flowers and a rainbow. The fifth song and second surprise : Feels like Fire. It was so fantastic to hear it on stage, even more with Nomfundo Moh’s part on video ! I was also impressed by how quickly he changed from his red suit to his yellow one at the song’s beginning. The sixth song was Underwater. At one point, he greeted the stands who wre on fire and one particularly energetic woman with an orange scarf, dancing in the aisle. He declared her the captain of the stands with the mission of directing people around her. He then engaged a battle between the stands and the mosh pit’s « enfants terribles » (the mosh pit won !) and another one before making us all sing together. The seventh song was Relax. The audience, fired up by the Underwater exercice, sung a lot. It was followed by the eighth song, Yo-Yo. The ninth song was Jane Birkin. He explained he’s making his sequin suit by coating the suit with glue and rolling in sequin. He gets sequin on his face and founds them everywhere for two days after a gig, even spitting sequin while brushing his teeth. He then compared his everyday life where he doesn’t dare, notably in subway where he doesn’t dare looking people in the eye, focussing on his phone like he just received a bad news when he is just watching videos (of cats ?) on TikTok and this moments, while singing Jane Birkin where he and we dare to be ourselves. The tenth song was Moi, Andy and Paris. He said that, in reality, love songs who are defending love are the meanest because they either speak of break-up or imaginary love. In contrast, Moi, Andy et Paris is mean but also full of hope for a solution for their couple to endure. He remembered us Happy Ending was not a love song and told us he had a collection of videos of people using Happy Ending for their wedding (which he regretted telling us about!). He also told us Andy promised to drink a beer each time Mika sang this song. And finally, he told us he will have to deal with this mess at Bercy but that by « mess » he meant the situation not the person (Andy) because he’s an ass but that much. The eleventh song was Big Girl. As usual, he went down in the audience, this time with Max. He told us once again the story of the Butterfly Lounge which was created by a woman who was fed up of being laughed at and wanted to create a place where everyone, men and women could be who they wanted to be. While going back toward stage, he came near me and god…I NEVER HAVE BEEN CLOSER TO HIM !! I could have touched him if I wanted. Strangely, maybe because of my height, I remember more his yellow suit than his face. I Can confirm you it’s not plain yellow but slightly shinny like satin. The twelfth song was Elle me dit. At one point during the song, he told us we needed a plate full of vitamins and color to deal with everyday life. He then invited on stage a group of roughly ten colorful fans, calling them by what he thought they were. Haphazardly, those I remember : a carrot (the Sweetie Banana one), a tulip, Nana Mouskouri, the orange scarf stands captain (who took way too much time going down for his taste) and a korean fan who made a 9 500km travel to see him. As he was tired, he gave them the mission to make us dance and lay down on stage. Music started again and they danced like mad men and women bringing us with them . But as Mika still wasn’t convinced to dance, they pulled him on stage while he was still lying down. Obviously, Mika finally stood up tp dance with them. At the song’s end, they all bowed down together (which I found nice for the fans). Once they got down from stage, Mika explained to us that, in english, what they did to him earlier was called « to drag ». He then said he was « draguer » on stage, pun on « to drag » and the word meaning « hit on someone» in french. The thirteenth song was 30 Seconds which he played on the swan winged piano. I listened to this song for the second time shortly before the gig and took a real liking to it so I was very happy and moved to hear it. The fourteenth song was Grace Kelly, still on the swan winged piano. Toward the end of the song, a giant inflatable rainbow sprung up from the piano. He then moved up to the fifteenth song, C’est la Vie. At that point, I thought the concert has ended but no. The audience was on fire, screaming « Mika, Mika ! » and he obliged us with FOUR more songs. The first one was Happy Ending. The way he sung it sounded like he was sorry he had to leave and he made it last for a very long time. He then did Love Today. Toward the end, he told us he was gonna make Montpellier fly but, as we are shy, he asked for all the lights be turned off. He then asked us to remember this moment when everything was dark, even in broad daylight (I promised, Mika and I intend to keep my promise !) and, on the count of three, made us jum like mad men and women . Even if I was living this moment for the fourth time, I think I will never get tired of it. But, it still wasn’t finished. He then did Any Other World. I was really hoping he would do it since I promised myself to register it for my aunt whose it is her favorite Mika song. So, I have one video from the gig with a s**tty video quality but a good sound if anyone want it (and if a manage to upload on forum). Finally, he ended with a very joyous We are Golden and bowed down with his musicians. He seemed very moved by Montpellier’s reception. As we were leaving the zenith, an instrumental of I see You played and obviously, I had it stuck in my head during my whole return to my hotel. I also got Mika songs stuck in my head (mainly Moi, Andy et Paris and Apocalyse Calypso) for the whole week-end but I don’t mind. As I said, it was , in my opinion, the lenghiest (even if, even with 4 supplemental songs, it was still too short to my taste) and best Mika gig I went too ! Can’t wait for the next one !
  6. Sorry Perdchen for the lateness in responding to you. I was occupied by a familly week-end. After C'est la Vie (expected ending), he did four more songs: Happy Ending, Love Today, Any Other World and We are Golden. I'm typing my report right now but it takes time to translate Mika's anecdotes and pun in another language!
  7. No Problem, He was talking about "Moi, Andy et Paris" as a cruel song but also one with hope of resolving the situation to make his couple endure. Since, apparently, Andy will be in Paris for the Bercy concert, he will have to resolve the situation about Andy not liking being in Paris to avoid a new conflict between them, I suppose. Anyway, that's how I understood it. Someone else who was there to confirm?
  8. Hi, As usual, I'll post a lengthy report later but just a few words: TWENTY SONGS!! HE SANG TWENTY SONG! HE DIDN'T WANT TO STOP (and neither did we!). This concert was by far the lenghiest and best Mika gig I ever had. I'm on the moon right now!!
  9. Don't chastise yourself! I know from very recent experience how long and fastidious writing a report can be!(Even more when it's not in your native language!)
  10. I would love to do that! Unfortunately, I don't have the budget to go to every Mika show!
  11. Hello MFC, Time for my yearly concert review. First, for a bit of context to understand better what Mika said: South of France like all the Mediterranean zone is suffering an heatwave. Also, the concert was late, like everything from the door opening (8pm instead of 7:30pm) to Alexa Gredy’s support act (9pm instead of 8:30pm) and obviously Mika (10pm instead of 9pm). And, finally, the audience was divided in three parts: the golden square tickets in the front, and behind them, two successive sections for the general audience. I was in the first part of the general audience, actually not that far away from the golden square zone but unfortunately, I was surrounded by people higher than my 1m59 so there will be not much comment on Mika’s costumes or mimics as I didn’t see them very well. A quick word on Alexa Gredy. Her set was very nice with a mix of slow songs and very dancy ones. The audience was very supportive and she thanked us and Mika also, twice for inviting her as his support act. So, at 10pm, finally, Mika’s set began! On the intro of Lollipop, he explained it was very cold ) and that, with this low temperature, we (he!) use to wake up at 21:44pm and that was why he was perfectly on time...for a Lebanese (aka 1 hour late). That is his explanation for his lateness! After Lollipop, he talked about the beautiful view as he could see the floor and us, angels from the stars (smooth talker!). He did Origin of Love during which he danced with a giant flower wich looked like a dandelion. Then, he admitted it was hot. He was actually trying to convince himself by telling us it was cold. He then began the very appropriate Ice Cream Then, he began telling us his story with Cannes and the Côte d’Azur in general. He told us he came regularly on the Côte d’Azur since he was one.He began to describe the characteristics of Cannes, among others during the Festival: he said it was a mix of class and trash and that was what he loved about Cannes being a kid. He then wanted to take us to a not very classy but rather trashy place: The Butterfly Lounge. He then did Big Girl with his usual passing through the audience. At the end, He thanked us for keeping up the Cannes from his chilhood. He then dedicated this concert to some personality from Cannes. The first two were a mother and a daughter, clothed with leopard printed fur, who used to walked up and down the Croisette boulevard during the Festival. He then began Tiny Love but he was thinking so much about this two women he forgot some lyrics. He then told us about his mother’s love for Cannes and the Côte d’Azur. Actually, his mother loved this place so much, the day she was supposed to give birth to Paloma, she decided to go buy vegetables and flower from the flower market in Nice and actually gave birth to Paloma in the flower market. He said that thanks to this event, he was a bit from the south of France. He then did Relax. Near the end of the song, he realized the men weren’t singing that much (well, it’s not like Relax is easy to sing for them!). He then made them sing using a lower key before making everyone sing (there was definitively more women than men in the audience). We then had the first (very good) surprise of the night with Overrated. It was my 4th Mika concert but my first time hearing Overrate live. I didn’t thought I liked this song so much and that I would have so much fun hearing it live! He then sang Good Guys and surprised us with a second passing through the audience. People were singing all the lyrics. It was very beautiful. He then played Underwater. At the end, he said 4 or 5 person wanted to play Underwater on stage. He finally choose a young woman who kept her arms up (with a sign I suppose) for a whole 10 minutes. He asked her if she was afraid and when she responded yes, he told her it was a good sign. He then gave her a cue to beginning playing she missed. Everyone laughed, Mika gave her another cue and she began playing beautifully. After Uderwater, came another song I wasn’t expecting : Rain! Despite the surprise, the audience was enthusiastic about it. Unfortunately, despite our call for it with all our might and the bad singers of the audience, the rain did not come! The following song was Boum Boum Boum. He then gave a second dedication to a man with mismatched shoes and shiny costumes. Somme in the audience must have scream Mika when hearing about the costumes because he said:No, not Mika! The pianist from the Martinez (a very famous hôtel in Cannes). He remember seing him play his piano in the hotel’s lounge from the street. He then told he was angry with his brother and sisters. It was so serious he interrupted his musicians who were playing the intro of Yoyo. He told us again about his mother’s love for la Côte d’Azur. He told us every time she manage to keep enough money from his father, hidden in her dress, she said: «It’s tomorrow, we are going to the south». No more sumers of fish and chips and rollerblade in the park but South of France, Cannes, Nice, the beach. And, then, they pilled up in the Toyota Previa (who is still today parked in the same street of London), the parents, the 5 kids (with their cushions), 2 old ladies because his mom was collecting them and even for a few years, a Chinese student that they encountered in Pékin and who ended up living in their house the following year and who obviously came with them in the south, not forgetting a tortoise and two rabbits (Coco and Pussy, the one for who Mika broke a boy’s nose, no?). As they were 9 or 10 in a 7 or 8 places car, wich was very much illegal, each time there was the police, their mother screamed: Calico Gallipoli and the kids had to hide under the seats. And they were doing that from London to south of France! It was her way of escaping familly and house's problems, often with his father and alway with money. Once in the south, Mika told us they assisted to all the fireworks on the Côte d’Azur and all the (very pricy) concerts, picnicing on the beach of Cannes. So he was angry with his brother and sisters because he would have loved them to be all there for his first concert in Cannes but they were not. Nevertheless, he was happy to be there with his musicians and with us. He sounded very sincere about it and that was heartwarming. After that, he sang Yoyo. During the song, he divided the audience in three parts: the little bit mad (the golden square), the madder (the back part of the general audience) and the completely crazy (the front part of the general audience). I’m proud to have been among the completely crazy even if I wasn’t the more vocal or hectic! As the musicians were playing Elle me dit’s intro, an event happened near me which proved being loud can be useful for more than belting or favourite Mika songs. An old man had a dizzy spell two ranks behind me. While someone was holding him up, everyone else around me screamed at the top of their lung: «Security! Dizzy spell» while designing with theirs arms up, the place where the old man was. Thanks to that, the man was evacuated by security in a few minutes. Then, Mika sang Elle me dit. During the song, he asked to turn to our right, left or behind us and dance with an unknown, because if we hit this unknown, we would end up hating each other but if with dance with each other, we migth end up loving ach other. I ended up dancing with two very eager women in front of me and that was a very nice experience! At the end, Mika cited the french public health advert: «For your health, be more dynamic». He aded: «I think it’s rather « For your health, drink more» and that he hoped we were drinking. When most of the audience responded no, he supposes that was because we didn’t have any water (rightly, thanks to a stupid no more than 33cl water bottle policy of the concert place). He asked water to be brought, particularly to people in the front of general audience section who couldn’t move. Well, spoiler...no one got water but that was a nice ask from Mika! He also told us it was his hottest concert ever. When people screamed, he realized his double-entendre (same in french as in english) and said he was assuming it, while pretending to take off his jacket. He thanked us for being there despite the heat. After that, he sang Happy Ending, during which the jacket definitely fell down, Grace Kelly and finally We are Golden. At the end, he thanked us a lot again. For the curtain call, he sang Love Today, to everyone’s enthusiam. At the end, he changed in his green cap and tiger head and obviously asked us to jump (sorry Mika, I tried but I was lacking strenght in my legs, by that point). He then saluted with his musicians: Vincent, Clément, Max and Wouter, I think? Then the Yoyo remix began and Mika wasn’t ready to leave because he began to dance on stage with his musicians and a technician girl? The whole audience followed him with enthusiam, hence his story on Instagram! He came back one last time with the technician girl and torch lights to dance with us. The audience danced until the last note of Yoyo. And that’s all for my report! I’m sorry if I forgot something or mixed up events but I did my report from notes I wrote up by memory in my hotel room, 2 hours after the concert’s end and very tired. Edited with corrections after watching @vanessa-love-mika's videos. Thanks to her and everyone who, posted videos and photos. It permits me to relive the concert and also see what Icouldn't with my little 1m59.
  12. Thank you very much @Kumazzz and @Gabry74 for all this photos and videos. At least, I can see what i missed!
  13. Hello, Hello, Back from the Toulon gig. Unfortunately, since I was with people (like my aunt) who were anxious about the crowd, i saw the concert from the balcony of a appartement. I'm not saying it didn't have its advantages but since the stage was turned toward the sea, I only could see Mika when he was on the far right (left for you in the crowd) of the stage and in the middle of the catwalk and see well what he was doing when it was my turn to have the binoculars. i couldn't either hear very well what he said so my report will be short (compared to what i usually do). The setlist was, I think, pretty much the same as Nîmes' Lollipop Origin of Love Big Girls Tiny Love Relax Ice Cream Boum Boum Boum Yo-yo Underwater Happy Ending Elle Me Dit Grace Kelly We are Golden Encore: Love Today Here the few tidbits I have: During the intro of Big Girls, he did put a flower crown (from the audience?) on his head and dit say that this concert was his last in France until next year ().and obviously dit his crowd singing during the song. At the beginning of Yo-yo, he did play with a green yoyo (from the audience again?). After that, he began Underwater but interrupted and invited on stage a 11 years old girl to accompany him on piano. I don't know if she played the whole song but Mika brought her on the front of the stage at the end of the song, made a long discourse and made the crowd sing for her, I think? And, yes Mika, when you said that everyone should sing, even those on the far away boat, I dit sing, even if I was a bit alone on the balcony! At the beginning of Elle me dit, he made a long version on the women in pink (his mom), talking of her relation with her own mother? During Grace Kelly and We are Golden, he wore a very shiny gold vest and from my point of view, with the lights, he was really shining like a distant light! And finally, during Love Today, he did put on his wooden crown and his flower cape and turn around like whirling dervish (my aunt's words) After the bowing, he did put on the Yo-Yo remix and danced for a moment on stage before exiting (and yes, I have it stuck in my head again!) As a general appreciation, my aunt and her friends who were not Mika fans were particularly impressed by his energy on stage. I had a conversation like this with my aunt during the Yo-Yo remix: My aunt (while looking through the binocular): He looks exhausted! Me: Well, he dit spend one hour and and an half dancing on stage... *Mika begins dancing like a madman on Yo-Yo's chorus* Me: Exhausted, you said? This man is a real dynamo. He never stops! That's unfortunately all I have to say on this gig. I hope some people will have more details than me and that next year will come very very fast!
  14. I hope it was nothing serious Oh no, don't worry! I wasn't implied in the fire. I wanted to be short but maybe I should have explain more! There was a big fire in Arles (a city in south of France), near the road I had to take to go to Nîmes. It created a stressful delay in my arrival at the concert. Fortunately, no one died in the fire but some people lost their houses! It actually makes my delay unimportant! Sorry!
  15. i'm a bit late (I'm sorry, I was tired and it was very long to write), here my lengthy review of the Nîme concert: After a bit of complications getting there (I seem to be in the habit of complications getting to a Mika concert but seriously, a fire), i finally entered in the magnificent Arènes de Nîmes (a roman amphitheater for those of you who don’t know it) to see my second Mika concert (and my second concert overall). I will be brief on the warm-up and first part. The warm-up was a DJ (DJ Mads). I don’t know much about DJs so I can’t really juge his work. I liked his first few songs because it was remixes of old songs like Just an Illusion (Imagine) of Freed from Desire (Gala). Special kudos to him for choosing to remix Andy by Les Rita Mitsouko. I’m surely not the only fan that laughed at that. The first part was the group L’Impératrice. Their style was modern electro music. Not my cup of tea but the main singer’s voice was nice and they knew how to liven things up. A few things on the installation time between L’Impératrice and Mika. I noticed that while L’imperatrice played on a very cluttered stage (they had a lot of instruments and electro devices), the stage was largely cleared up for Mika. Seems like someone need space to dance (and indeed he does!). Also noticed they stuck 4! setlists on stage (one on the piano, one on the left of the stage and two around the main micro stand). They clearly thought (or Mika clearly think of himself) he’s a goldfish! During this time, the audience warmed up with a few Mexican waves. Just before Mika came on stage, I saw near one of the entrance to my part of the amphitheater (far right of the scene, second balcony), a man filming the arena with two kids. At first, I thought it was just random people and then had a double take: “Wait, is the man filming Mika’s father and one of the kid Beauregard?” I didn’t had time to confirm this as Mika’s musicians were coming on stage but Mika himself (partly) confirmed it later. So, after his musicians (all in white), Mika entered stage (all in black) and after greeting everyone (even the wind and the appearing half-moon), Mika began with Lollipop. He explained that after two years, we had lost habit of singing, dancing, making love (everyone in the audience protested by big “no”s to this three assertions, even the two ten years old next to me but Mika responded he had to the third one ). He then said that since we had lost habit, he had to take things back to the beginning and then explained the story of Lollipop Girl (a sad gray girl who had lost habit of loving). The song was perfect to put us in the mood for the rest of the concert. Then the second song came and so came the tears in my eyes: Origin of Love! Nothing compare to hearing your favorite song live! During Origin of Love, he removed scratched fabric on his leg to reveal the body part costume and at the end, he removed his jacket and ended bare-chested. Before the beginning of Big Girls, while Max was handling the show, Mika had a change of cloths to a beautiful pink suit, saying when he came back on stage that a special occasion needed a special suit. He then explained that after two years of silence in the amphitheater (no singing, no gladiators, no lions eating the gladiators no Max), we forgot how to dance next to other people. To remind us, he brought us in this special place in Costa Mesa, a club smelling of perspiration, hope and old cold beer, where everyone danced next to each other. Then Big Girls began and Mika, working by example, danced in the middle of the parterre. He then pursued with his first piano ballad, Tiny Love! During that song, he opened his suit jacket to reveal his heart tee-shirt. After that, there was Relax. I think that’s when he said that when trying to explain to people and other artists out of France why Les Arènes de Nîmes were the best stage, he always talked about the disposition of the arena that mixed all the voices in the arena together. He then tested his theory by making us sing very loudly on Relax choruses. The next song was Ice Cream. He said something at the beginning about the heat of the day (and hot it was) but I don’t remember it, I’m sorry! Then came Yoyo with a new acoustic piano intro that gave me a new appreciation for this song (and I thought I would never love it . He dedicated the song to a girl named Geraldine who screamed during the intro. He made her scream again but judged her scream sounded like someone being eaten by a lion. He then continued with Boum Boum Boum (during which he received a yoyo from the public). Then came the (excellent) surprise: Rain! And I was not the only one delighted by this one as the audience sang very loudly. He pursued with Underwater. During the intro, he explained that his mother always told him to be careful what he wished for as it could be granted. He then invited on stage Mareva from Lyon who asked for it via a sign to play piano on Underwater. He asked her if she was afraid and she responded “I’m fine” to which Mika’s response was “You’re crazy!”. After a bit of preparation, Mareva accompanied Mika while he was singing Underwater and she was excellent. She said she made false notes but I didn’t heard them. I only heard a different way to play piano than Mika, not bad just different at one point in the song. The rest of the song, I was totally transported as if Mika himself was playing. Near the end of the song Mika asked her if it was her first time playing in the Arènes de Nîmes and she responded yes. He then asked her what was her biggest public until then and her response was “My parents”. Then, Mika made her direct audience with piano (soft then loud), declared she was amazing but boring (in a less polite way) and made us sing to her to see if she could handle it. After a big deserved ovation, Mareva returned in the audience. Mika then sang Happy Ending. At the end, he improvised? lyrics. I don’t remember everything but I heard : now I close ma eyes/ at least I sing/.../with a little bit of love). Globally, the song was wonderful, particularly his highs which were prolonged by the acoustic of the arena. The next song was Elle me dit. The audience got particularly loud on this a-one. At the end, he talked to us about a shy boy who liked to dance in his room but did stop as soon as someone opened the door. But that boy is now eight and eight is no more an age for shyness. He then invited the said shy boy on stage : his nephew Beauregard! He went up on the piano with him and they both danced on Elle me dit until Beauregard got a bit afraid because of the fireworks which went off on the piano. Beauregard still got an ovation and the beginning of a curtain call from the audience while he was going out of stage. Mika then explained the fireworks got counterproductive as now “Beauregard will be shy until he is 38 years old! He then promised Beauregard next time there will be no more fire, at least on the piano as he couldn’t control fire from audience. The following song, Grace Kelly was classical but the audience, still hyped up by Elle me dit and very happy to hear it were also very loud on that one. We are Golden was the last song of the main setlist. Once again very hyped up crowd and Mika wore a white suit trouser to which he added at the end of the song his cape and crown at the end. He then thank us and said he missed us! We missed you too Mika! For the encore, Mika sang Love Today. At some point during the concert, he said next time he wanted to play in the middle of the circle of the arena (the stage was at one side of the arena and the stands behind it were closed). But, at the beginning of Love Today, he decided he didn’t want to wait to sing in the middle of people and asked the parterre to make a circle for him to perform in. Well, the circle never formed and it ended rather like a crowd singing (like in Big Girls) but it was very cool! Another thing happened which wasn’t by Mika (well, he had something to do about it). As usual, near the end of the song Mika began to prepare the audience for the jump session. The scene went that way: Mika (on stage): On the count of three, do you know what you have to do? Audience: Yeees! Panicked ten years old near me: What do we have to do? My screamed response over the noise: JUMP! And jump, she did with all her heart! After Love Today ended, Mika thanked us again and bowed alone and with his musicians. He then said “Good bye and see you soon” and all I could think was “Yes, see you soon in Toulon, Mika, with, I hope an as warm welcome!” Mika then asked the sound technician to put on Yoyo and danced on stage for a moment (with his cape) before disappearing backstage. No meeting or signing as I’m still a shy idiot thinking she has nothing interesting to say to Mika but i came out of this concert with Yoyo stuck in my head and so high that back in my hotel, it took me a good minute to realize I was trying to open the door to a room that wasn’t mine and on the wrong floor! Once in my room, I had to pinch me twice: Once to realize I had indeed seen Mika and the second to realize I’m gonna see him again in less than two month. And, God, I can’t wait!
  16. It's La Seine, a duet between Matthieu Chedid (also called M) and Vanessa Paradis about the Seine river and to a greater extent Paris. it's well known in France for being the soundtrack of the anime movie Un monstre à Paris (A Monster in Paris) hence the animation used for the clip.
  17. Mika will be in Toulon (south-east of France) for a free concert! Don't know too much detail as the article is for suscribers but it will happen the 26 of August, on the Mourillon beaches (where they did La Chanson de l'Année). https://www.varmatin.com/culture/cest-un-evenement-le-chanteur-mika-donnera-un-concert-gratuit-cet-ete-a-toulon-776645 Definitely will be there since it's my hometown!
  18. Same here! The costumes, dark background and cluster of dancers give me a serious Good Guys vibe! And that feels very good! Can't wait to see the result!
  19. Thank you! That's exactly why I follow this thread! Us dreaming of Mika doing weird things!
  20. I think giraffeandy is right! I'm in a Mika-obsessed mood lately and I think that's why I did a rather cool dream last night. So, Mika reunited a bunch of fan to sing together, in a sort of choir with him as the choir teacher, obviously. At first, we were in a church but then it became a clasroom with two by two tables (it's important!). Despite not being sure if I was capable of doing it, I volonteered to be a high voice singer and Mika choosed me as the second high voice singer. The first was a redhead girl in front of me, to my right (that's important, too!). We began singing (Sorry, I don't remember which song since several Mika songs ran through my head during and after the dream...maybe Boum Boum Boum) but each time I had to sing Mika did put himself right in front of me, his elbows on my table and his face very near to mine, with a big smile and a very devilish look on his face! And each time, I was so impressed I became mute and couldn't sing anymore. Mika seemed to find this very amusing. He then disappeared somewhere else in the classroom to reappear later. The third time, he did this, I fainted!Another time, I protested to the people around me, particularly the first high voice singer I was supposed to follow that it was Mika's fault, that he knew I would react like that since I already did last time (apparently, I already sang with Mika!) all that while he was looking at me with this devilish look and his smile. I wasn't really mad at him, it was rather a amused protestation! How could I be mad at him when he was looking at me like that??). Last thing, he had a 2009 Mika look. After that, I woke up and had an hard time going back to sleep because of the picture of a beautiful and devilish Mika in my head!
  21. Thank you, Kumazz for the video! As for the atmosphere between the judges, it make me thinks of Mika's first two years at the Voice, we they were all a bit mad but the atmosphere seemed so fun! I like it and hope to have the opportunity to watch the show! (I have to make use of my learning of italian!)
  22. Cool topic, there. I've been browsing it for the last few days and I laughed a lot (some of you have very strange minds!) If I remember well, I dreamed about Mika three times: The first one was in 2016 when I became a Mika fan but still hasn't had the chance to attend a gig. I dreamed I was going to a Mika gig. It was in a kind of roman theater (I made this dream just after Mika's gig in Baalbek) and I was very disappointed. I didn't knew any song and most of all, he didn't play Origin of Love, my favorite. At the and of the concert, I was going out when I saw the Criminal Minds team (Reid!😍) doing security. They asked me to replace them as they needed to go on a case and I accepted gladly! END OF MY DREAM. Well, Criminal Minds appart, it was a rather frustrating dream. I think it was born of the high expectations I was putting in Mika's gigs (which would be my first gig ever) and, by consequence, my bir fear of being disappointed. Well, on this point, I don't have fear anymore. I had the chance to be at Mika's gig in Toulouse, the 16th of november 2019 and it was AMAZING! Plus I knew all the songs and HE PLAYED ORIGIN OF LOVE!!. So, It was just a bad dream after all. The second one will be brief. I don't remember much, just that Mika and Andy were there. It may or may not have happened of a theater (a classical one, this time) and they may or may not had given me advices but I'm not sure of anything so I won't say more on this one. The third one happened a few days ago, probably because I was reading this thread and hoped having my own dream about Mika. So, in my dream, he was just at the beginning of his career and so, had just gone famous and rich (that important in the dream). He was searching for his family from which he was separated (don't know when or why) and who lived in poverty. He first found his sister (which didn't looked like any of his sisters). He arrived in an helicopter (In my dream, Mika is a bit bling, apparently!), clothed like a businessman with a golden watch (told you, bling!) and they hugged. Then, they went on a big luxury cruise ship (bling again!). I was also there with my whole family (don't why!).Happened some stuff unrelated to Mika (mostyy, as I'm emetophobic, I feared one of my sister would be seasick). Then, Mika entered a cabin with Yasmine (yes, his sister transformed in Yasmine, don't ask) and on the bed, under the covers, they found their mother in a colored gown. Then, she disappeared like smoke and reappeared in a form, all white like a statue (but alive) and she was wearing her gown and a scarf on her head because she was sick (like in reality, unfortunately!😢). END OF MY DREAM. I won't analyse this dream because I'm pretty sure it doesn't make any sense but I think it was the first time I was confronted to my phobia and my brain lets me continue my dream so I will put that on Mika's power! Globally, I'm very happy of having had this dream! That's all for me! Sorry for the long text. I wish you all wonderful Mika dreams!
  23. I take the opportunity of confinement to catch up on the Revelation Tour's gigs (I know, I'm very late) and I have two things to say about this one: First, I notice Max was more and more bold in his dancing, notably on Platform Ballerina and sometimes Big Girls. And, now, he is coming down on the floor with Mika! I think that by the end of the tour, he will dance as much as Mika, which should be very funny! On the other hand, I think Mika still has a lot of work to do to loosen up Tim! I also want to talk about Over My Shoulder (a favorite of mine). This interpretation was magical. I listened it three times and each time, I had to close my eyes to just listen their voices. Yes, their...Because, obviously, Mika was marvelous but can we talk of Max's backing vocals? He sings higher than Mika, which I thought impossible on OMS (at least for a man)! And, as a result the harmonies are divine! Plus, correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it the first time Mika sang it with another man? Now, you must think I'm all over Max. Not at all (don't worry Mika!). It's just a few things I noticed aft hours of watching Mika gigs vidéos and I wanted to share it!
  24. Thank you for your kind words on my report. I thought it was complete but I realised, this morning I forgot a few things... First, there was two fan happenings. The first was the one with the colored bracelets. Instructions were to light it on at the end of the first song (Ice Cream) which we did. Then, later, on Relax, some fans in the front launched their colored bracelet on stage which made Mika laugh as you can hear in the video. The second happening was during Tiny Love. Some fans on the ground had posters with "I am ***, I was born in ***" on it. Mika didn't particularly reacted on it but the view must have been beautiful from the stage. Three other little things happened: First, during Elle me dit, a fan called Satana or Saitana? sended a letter on stage. Mika only read the first two lines which was something like: "My name is Satana (Saitana), I'm twenty something (don't remember the exact age, sorry) but I am already tired." Mika commented on it by saying: If you're already tired at twenty something, you'll see at thirty-six!" and then used it in his attempt at make us believe he was too tired to dance. I also forgot that when Mika struggled to get a fan her phone back, after one or two minutes of Mika struggling, a men took the phone ton give it back to the fan. Mika, at first called him a gentleman then began to complain: "Where were you in the last two minutes while I was struggling?". Of the third thing, I am not sure since I didn't see anything but at the beginning of a song (don't remember which one), Mika must have done something very sexy because some fans in the front screamed very loudly. Anyone to confirm? Thank you also Kumazz and Anna for the videos! Thanks to them, I can relive again and again what happened! Yes, the lonely light at the end is Mika, lightening his face in an horror movie mode! I also forgot about that! Thanks for remembering me! Je suis désolée, je ne peux pas vraiment te donner de réponse précise car je n'y suis pas allée mais il me semble (pas sure) qu'il y en avait une dans le hall principal du Zénith. I'm sorry, I can't give you much details about it since I didn't go there but I think (not sure) there was one in the main hall of the Zénith.
  25. Ok, report time. Seems like I will be the first. My report is probably one you had already read a lot on this forum: the report of a first time. I won't go on about my travel from Marseille because you probably don't care but just so you know, I nearly never came to Toulouse and at half past ten; this morning, I was nearly in tears on a sidewalk in Aix-en-Provence. But, then, suddenly, everything got better and even if I arrived way more later than I thought, I finally arrived in Toulouse, more than ready to see Mika. Because of the events of above, I only arrived at 6.30 pm. Obviously, the queue was huge and I was persuaded I would be very far from Mika. But I was ready for that. My aim for this first Mika gig (and first gig ever) was not to be on the front but just to enjoy. To my surprise, when I arrived in the concert hall, there was less people than I thought but, in my opinion, i was still way back from Mika. No problem, I find a place and seat. Being shy, I don't speak a lot with people around me but they seem nice. And there, I want to stop to describe them quickly: to my right and lef, two groups of friends (one of teens and one of young adults), in front of me two couples (one hetero and one gay) and behind me a mother and her daughter. I found it so representative of the diversity of Mika's public that I wanted to share it. Also, who was this girl with a multicolored bag who distributed colored bracelet in the back a bit after 7.00 pm? You seemed too much in your mission (and I was too shy) so I didn't dare to ask you if you were part of the MFC. But thank you for the bracelet and happy to have meet you, even if so briefly! Back to to the story. After one hour of wait, at 8.00 pm straight, the opening act began. It was a DJ (I don't remember his name, sorry. Nickrill or something like that). i don't know a lot about DJs but he did his best to warm us up and did a pretty good job at it. His set lasted 22 minutes and then back to waiting for Mika, this time! Then, I have to talk about two things that happened during the wait. First, a technician came to sweep the floor, I think (I wasn't near enough to see what he was doing). But, when he appeared, he was acclaimed as if he was the star of the night. And, then among the musics that were playing during our wait, suddenly came "Emmenez-moi" from Charles Aznavour. And, suddenly, everyone was singing, knowing pretty much every word of the song (me included obviously). But, at that moment, I couldn't help thinking that because of this two events, Mika must have thought of us as mad oldies.🧓👴. Must have been surprised when arriving on stage to see only a regular audience... Now, the main event: Mika! I have only one (unoriginal) word: MAGICAL!! Just before the beginning of Mika's discourse about the origin of Earth and of the Meeks, some people screamed on the back. We thought maybe Mika was there but saw nothing. Explanation from those in the back? After the intro, Mika came on stage (cue lot of screams) and sang Ice Cream and then Dear Jalousy (with the explanation about him being a jealous bastard and all). That when I realised that with the protruding stage, he was only some ten meters away from me at a time and, sometimes, I could see him rather well (and he is even more beautiful in reality!) Then came my favourite song: Origin of Love (with explanations too and a reference of pink being also Toulouse's color. Toulouse, city of desire?). I thought I would cry when hearing it since I dreamed so dearly to hear Mika singing it live. But, to my surprise, I just enjoyed it very very deeply. Followed Platform Ballerina, a great live song, very dancy and uplifting! And then , another moment of surprise. I knew Mika would come in the public at the next son: Big Girl and I was hoping a bit he would come near me since I was more in the front than a I thought. Well, he didn't pass just near me but I saw him only a few meters away from me ().When he got back on stage, he had strange white glasses that he wore than passed to Max who also wore them (a shout out to Maw, he was on 🔥 tonight!). Mika, then did Relax (I think, my memory is already hazy) and Tiny Love (with an explanation about violet being the color of the scary unknown). Then , came Underwater. At the end of it, we had a magical moment. Spontaneously, the audience lighted their phone like during the Heaven Tour. Mika went with it and called us his stars again (). He said that he liked big zeniths but that the bad side was that he couldn't see those far back (seated in the bleachers. So, he compared them to far away stars, then made them sing with lights on, then made us (on the ground) sing for them, with our back to the scene and finally made us all sing together. It was beautiful and one again, magical. The comic part came when he wanted to give back her phone to the fan he have taken it from. The fan wanted him to throw it but Mika feared breaking it. He talked about Toulouse being a city of rugby but that for his part, the only balloons he was good with was inflatable 4 foot balloons (cue!) When he began , Elle me dit, there was a big uproar in the room. Being the only song (entirely) in french, we sung it at the top of our lungs. Then, he began with Lollipop, and I think that was the moment when he was strike by this trance were he can say anything, a moment he sometimes regret later (from his own saying) but that we love very dearly! He began by trying to play his piano backward, half lying on it (hard to explain but very funny), like Mozart in the Amadeus movie (his explanation, not mine). Took him two times to get Lollipop's melody right in this position. He then seated normally at his piano and said: "I realise that those in front of me only see the piano and my foot" and then added "....and I just realised what those behind me can see. My big ass!" (while shaking his ass, which didn't seem to bother those behind him much!). He then began laughing and said that if his mother was there, she would come on stage and slap him while saying: "I don't care if you are 36, I'll slap you, moron!" (for saying a bad word, I suppose). He finished by adding in a small voice, like he was responding to his mother: "It's not my fault I have a big ass!" (No you don't, Mika!); When he finally began Lollipop (to stop saying more stupid things in his own words), we thought he was done with saying strange things. But then, during a musical interlude in the song, wanting us to sing, he compared us to a chorus of birds, more precisely Cinderella's chorus of birds. He then went on a tangent about how his favourite character in the movie was Gus Gus, the fat mouse who's eating all the wheat (if I remember well, it was corn, Mika!) and the cat and...we couldn't understand anything anymore (and him neither apparently). So, we finished Lollipop as a whole chorus of Cinderella animals, apparently... Mika also sang Tomorrow and Paloma. While singing, "fly, oh fly, Paloma", his piano (and him obviously) went up on a platform. It did happen at other moments in the show but this one was the more beautiful. Happy ending came then. I had always found him singing a capella beautiful but I hard time seeing it as "magical) as described by those who saw it live. That was until I found myself in an entirely silent room (of 11.000 people!!) with only the sound of Mika's voice, without artifice, reasoning in my ears. Yep, it's magical. The rest of the show was composed of Love Today and We are Golden. I won't give details on them, I'm already way too long. After a long and very noisy curtain call, he came back to sing Grace Kelly (with a part in french and a lot of very big inflatable multicolored balloons), Tiny Love (reprise) and Stay High. For that last one, he talked about the life outside making us feel "broken" sometimes and made us promise to Stay hiiiiiiigh! We then sang it for so long I had it in my head for the whole way back to my hotel (not a bad thing!). At the end of the song, a giant heart appeared from inside his piano. Again a Mika magic trick we all love! And then, after some very warm salutations, it was the end, already. I suddenly realised I was very tired, that I had been standing for two hours and an half and that I had screamed way too much (sorry for the ears of those near me!). While going out, I saw a lot of people, a lot of smiles, people singing bits of songs and big inflatable multicolored balloons everywhere (even in the tramway). Now, I can say I have participated in a magical moment on Underwater, been part of the chorus of "little bit of love on Happy Ending, sang like there was no tomorrow "We are not what you think we are!" and jump like there was no tomorrow either on Love Today! On the way back to my hotel, I was constantly holding my colored bracelet in my hand like the only proof it wasn't a beautiful dream of the first time I will go see Mika. That's all for me. Sorry for being so long, I wanted to say everything I remember before beginning to forget. Sorry for the spelling and grammar errors, too. It's too late and now, I will go to bed, dreaming of Mika!
