  13. https://youtu.be/GGUuNbQ7ERE that was posted by @Kumazzz Hi everyone, I took time to transcript and translate this video ;-) @Subtitling Teamif you want to use :-) It was at the end of December, beginning of January, it was one evening, I was in a car in a taxi crossing Paris to visit my parents. And I look around me, the weather was pretty ugly I must say and in the rain I was looking at the posters and not only the museums that were closed but there were ads everywhere for films that did not come out for them. exhibitions which were closed or ... well in the end I said to myself: why not take this opportunity and instead of having posters put a little color, put drawings. If the museums are closed, it's hard to go and visit a gallery, why not transform all of its panels into culture, the Morris columns, the Mars flags, the city's furniture into a gallery. It was a small idea and I said to myself ok, why not, we will go, we contacted JCDecaux and they were starting very quickly except that the advantage is that they said yes and the disadvantage is that 'they said, you have 3 weeks. So I got together with my sister Paloma and so we said okay what do we do? I also contacted the museums of decorative arts and we did that in complicity with Olivier Gabé who is the director of the museum of decorative arts. And instinctively I said to myself: you have to use designers, you have to go towards illustrations, drawings because these are not people who are normally exhibited in museums, they are often at the service of other brands, they are hidden behind something else, their name is not put forward but also especially because I said to myself: if we just put paintings that already exist are we really enjoying this huge opportunity? And also the main thing, I said to myself: color is fine, we are bringing color back to Paris ok, but color without emotion and without intimacy is nothing. It's just noise. Journalist: Mika, we will see the result this morning because his colorful posters will appear in Paris this Sunday morning at 11:30 am. MiKa: Exactly, start this morning, I'm in Paris and I'm going to post the first 2 posters this morning. And this project, which was born 3 - 4 weeks ago, where I said to myself: maybe we could be 30 to 40 posters of Morris columns which are quite iconic anyway, and with the complicity of everyone. museum of decorative arts, JCDecaux and also the city of Paris, frankly there I am delighted to say that from this week we will be on more than 2,600 posters throughout the Paris region with 10 works of art that were made on purpose for this project. J .: Mika, a total of 9 artists were selected. How did you work? Mika: We started with certain criteria, I told myself that it must be the people who make Paris their workshop. It's not only people who speak French, there are obviously French people, but there is also a Brazilian, a Venezuelan. But are people who make Paris their workshop. Who also lived here during this pandemic, or much of it in Paris. And what I wanted was a response to what they went through and for them to tell us something intimate. And also what is beautiful is that it is very varied. There are men, women, there are all ages and there are people who are very well known in the world of design and drawing but we do not know their name, but who do designs for Hermès for example. And there are others who are very young, who have just started 2 years ago. J: Mika, are we talking about you? How are you doing? You stopped your tour, you quickly want to find the scene? Mika: yes, I want to rediscover this way of communicating where we don't need to use words, we can just use music and the body but we can say a lot more and it's really like that, maybe it's also that this project was born, to find this way of communicating with people but also this communion of spirit that one has when one is with people that one does not know, in the process of sharing something emotional. And this is the theater, this is the concerts, this is the exhibitions. J: And you are currently composing Mika? Mika: I started. I started again, I didn't start right away because I made an album a year ago, and then I just released a live album that I did at the Royal Opera of Versailles in December, but in fact I wanted to wait to find out, I didn't want to write in a vacuum, and I didn't want to respond in a way, for example: I didn't want to do lives or sing, or make an album where I do covers or do stuff in my kitchen. This is not what I wanted to do. I said to myself: this is not the right answer. And in fact, I was waiting and there I just got some tips for festivals in the United States that was, the festivals that I was going to do and in South America, and I said to myself ok, if I go on Coachella stage, if I get on Lollapalooza stage what am I going to do? What do I want to bring back with me besides all the songs that already exist? And I know exactly what I want to bring back on stage, I know what I want to add, and now I have started writing. J: And it will look like what, a little confidence Mika: I can tell you that it is also dedicating to what I found in this pandemic, we lived a lot of things, I lived quite hard things, I got out of a hole in a way , I got out of a sadness, I lost people who I loved as much but in fact, yes even and also what I found is the desire, not only to make music but to really listen to it. And it reminded me of that time when I was in college at the conservatory in London, studying Schubert and Brahms but secretly I wrote my own songs and at night I went out to Soho in London in leste of London. And I was going out and there was a kind of irreverence, a thread of freedom and there is something that really, an atmosphere that was happy but which was also burning at the same time. This freedom I had when I was 18 is this kind of energy that's inspiring me what I'm doing now. That's all I can say.
