Hi girls, how are you? 😘 Unfortunately I have to say I don't feel so well this month. There's actually no reason but since January I started to feel a little bit depressed, lonely and hopeless... It's sad but I don't want to speak about it with my family because they would worry too much. That's why I want to share it with you and ask you, if you ever feel the same and what do you do against it? I'd like to find some new friends or hobbies because my best friend is so busy with her job, school, hobbies, boyfriend etc. However, it's quite difficult, I don't know where to start. I'm trying to focus on studying now but it's also hard to do so. Sorry if my post doesn't make sense, I just had to share my thoughts with someone. Thank you for reading it.

@Paoletta Hi, thanks for asking, it's like weather, but I'll try to go out more next week to be more active and I also decided to contact the counseling center of our university, maybe it'll help to talk with a therapist about the feelings because now I'm not even able to learn because of lack of concentration... And my mom began to worry anyway because I'm not hungry at all, I eat a little bit but it's really hard for me. However, I'm trying my best to change it, it helps me to do some exercises and also writing down the problems right now feels better. Thank you again for your support, MFC is the best!

@giraffeandy Good luck!

Has anybody of you seen the series YOU? Because I'm just watching season 1 and I don't know if it's just me but the main actor reminds me of Mika a bit... I mean not all the time but there's something about his facial expressions and also maybe his eyes that makes him look a bit similar sometimes. Maybe that's the reason why I may have a crush on the main character even though he is a crazy psychopat and stalker...

Today I got the idea to create this kind of fan art... Well, it's not perfect, I wasn't even sure if I should share it here to be honest. Maybe I'll try again later to make a better version. But it's inspired by the song Hurts. It reminds me of the time when I was younger and most of my schoolmates hated me for no reason. They made fun of me and I was too shy to defend myself. They called me weird, stupid etc. and even though I didn't believe them, it felt exactly like this...like having these words pinned into the heart with knives.
I'm not even sure if anybody else can relate this to the song because it's quite personal. However, there's no other place to post it than here...

I always had the problem that I didn't really fit anywhere but fortunately I always had at least one good friend so I've never been completely alone... I'm really grateful for that. I'm not good at making friends but on the other hand it's better to have a few friends you can really trust and be yourself than a lot of fake friends.
-
I agree with you. I haven't got lots of friends but they are true. It's the most important.
I haven't got lots of friends because I want to stay natural, and many people don't accept people like that. It's sad... Now, we have to be like others. Fortunately, there are exceptions.

@Starlight That's great! Is he just studying/working there for now or does he live there permanently? Do you visit him often (when it's possible, not now unfortunately )?

Please wish me luck with my new creative project, I've never done this before. Today I've finally received my hot fix applicator which I've ordered weeks ago and bought a new grey jersey and some hot fix stones and crystals. I want to do some Mika-related design, probably some quote, I hope it will work... It's the perfect project for my exam time.

Thank you so much for your support, you are the best!
@Anna Ko Kolkowska Of course I will create the design first without using the applicator to see how it looks like.

@giraffeandy also you is the best

I have to cancel my trip to Bolzano...

Thinking of all the Italian fans here. I don't know how many of you live in or near the affected area but as long as it's possible, try to stay high not low... Hope you and your families are safe! Wish you health. Of course that applies to everybody who lives in a country that is affected (at this point I think most of us do...).

@Lilyen It seems like Mika has read your comment...

Maybe it's just me because nearly everything reminds me of something Mika-related but when I saw the dancers I just had to think about Blame It on the Girls for some reason...

Wow @Mikasister! Amazing!!!

Hi girls! 😘
I few days ago I've ordered Songbook from Amazon (I know I'm late as Mika...). I always thought I don't need it as there aren't any new songs (with a few exceptions, but I already own the majority of them). However, now I have it in my collection too and I have to reorganize my whole CD shelf because of the new CDs I've ordered... This is also happening with my bookshelfs all the time.
P.S. Feeling a bit better this week.

I wonder how all the fans are so talented in designing suits and now pens... Have you entered the last competition?

@Dominika I haven't designed any pen.

@Mikasister Sorry, I had to understand it wrong

Those little joys like watching a part of Mika's performance of Relax from last night and just after that spontaneously turning on the radio and hearing the first notes of Relax playing there... (I know it's not a big thing to hear Relax on the radio but in that moment it felt just magical. ❤️)

I don't know if MFC is the right place for it but since I can't discuss this on social media or irl, I thought I could try it here... What would you do, if someone really close to you express themselves in a slightly homophobic way? Would you try to convince him/her otherwise? Would you just ignore it and avoid this topic in conversations? Or would you even stop meeting such a person ?
The thing is, I have a best friend I know for ages, she is the closest person I have in my life besides my family. But it really bothers me when she speaks about someone being gay as it would be a bad/not normal thing. I tried to explain it to her but I think it's not so easy to change her mind about it. She tolerates people being gay but she doesn't approve it if you know what I mean. And I really hate it but at the same time, I know she is not a bad person and it's really hard for me because she is like my sister. It's a similar feeling like when someone in your family says something you don't agree with but at the same time you don't want to argue about it because those people are so close to you but it still bothers you a lot. I hope it makes sense. What do you think about it?

@Irem Aytepe I guess I have to accept it and hope she changes her mind someday... Of course I won't stop pointing out what I think about it.
But thank you all for your support! It helps when I can express my feelings and thoughts about it somewhere where it's safe to do so.
-
@giraffeandy I hope you'll find a good solution... it's really a problem for a close friendship..
-
Don't know if there are any fans of P!ATD but what do you think of this cover?
I think he did a pretty good job!

I feel like you @giraffeandy I dont see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The things in Spain are getting worse every day with 15.000 infected and moore than 700 dead, and they say the hardest is yet to come. In Catalonia where I live there're almost 3000 infected and 55 dead. We have to be locked up at home and go out just to buy food. I have to be careful with mom because is an old person. Moreover, Mika doesnt help me. It seems that for him only France and Italy are suffering. Today I wanted to cry. Right now, I'm down. Tomorrow I do not know but now, I regret having bought tickets for this summer. Right now I'm sad and annoyed.
When the year started, 2020 seemed nice to me and now all this.
-
@Mikasister Exactly, I was so positive about 2020, Mika on tour, so many good things coming and now this... It's so unreal, I feel like I have to wake up one day from this nightmare but I won't... And it's getting worse. I'm so sorry for Spain and Italy, this summer I was going to have a holiday with my family on Mallorca and also planning to go to Verona to see Mika and now it breaks my heart what's happening in both countries I love...
-
Just a random story – I watched a video on YT called "Artists you may have forgotten about" where Mika was mentioned. Somebody commented on it, that Mika isn't forgotten because there's this commercial with that guy changing colourful costumes along with the car which pretty sure features a Mika song...

All they care about are people who break in US, anyway, when we see what MIKA was doing over the last years even if it's not about making new music he's a genius and an unforgateble talent who manages to renewable himself, he would like to be famous world while but it's about the big machine, female singers who appear every few years and so on.
I do think that MIKA succeeded to manage his career very well,
one of the amazing singers performers, Adam lambert, he's also in my opinion extremely underrated, so he's limiting his career touring with queen and as judge in australia
-
oops sorry, i stumbled in here accidentally 😳 Yeah he has lots of fans in other countries, but i worry a lot of them are stuck in the LICM days & never even hear he's put out new records. btw Mika actually did kinda write Happy Ending about homeless people. he explained it in a video i saw ages ago but now i forget which it was.
-
@kreacher I wasn't sure about that because on the radio station it sounds as if he would write it in LA as he was recording the album but I thought the song was older than that and they sometimes say untrue information in that show, a few days later they say Avril Lavigne released her debut album when she was 22 (she was 17) etc. But thank you for the clarification.

Hi girls, I hope some of you can join me on this very "girly" topic. Tomorrow it's Valentine's day and even though I'm not a fan of this holiday it always make me think of the fact that I've never been in a real relationship. It's kind of sad because it seems so easy for other people in my surroundings but impossible for me. I'm usually not the girl who complains about being single, I'm actually used to it. However, the society makes it hard sometimes, people are always asking etc. I think it's still better to be alone than to be in some toxic relationship but sometimes it makes me feel uncomfortable - once I was with two classmates and they began to talk about their relationships. I felt kind of excluded and then once of them mentioned some problems and the other said "at least you have a boyfriend" which made me feel quite bad as I was the only one who was single. Does anybody of you feel sometimes the same?

Thanks @Dominika
I also feel that I'm too safe in my comfort zone and that I should try to step out of it because you always hear that it feels good to try something different but to be honest, it usually feels worse... I don't know what's wrong with me but whenever I try because you never know if you haven't tried I realize it doesn't work for me. Does it make sense at all?
It's not just about relationships but for example I went on a date with a guy because I thought I shouldn't reject every invitation just because it feels safe to stay in your comfort zone (and dating is a huge step out of it for me) but I realize I don't really enjoy it, I mean, going to dates. I know, it sounds ridiculous but sometimes I really think there has to be something wrong with me because everyone gets so excited about dates and to me it feels like a dentist appointment (ok, it's not that bad but still, I just can't relate to most people...).
-
If you don't enjoy dates, don't go on them . Go for group activities, it's easier hanging out in a crowd, and you may get to meet someone you actually want to spend time with. I joined a folk music club, just made myself useful helping with running the club, and ended up going out with a folk singer for a while. Though that didn't last, two other men I met there are still my friends, we've stayed in touch for years.
-
I used to be a really big fan of her and I still like her, especially her older music, but the new song is so good... It's about her illness (she had Lyme disease in the past years) and it almost made me cry, it's so emotional.

@Lilyen Skater Boy was my favourite song when I was like 11, we used to sing it with my best friend all the time. And a few days ago I heard My Happy Ending on the radio and realized I still know all the lyrics, such a great song.

@kreacher Yes, I agree, I mean, maybe it's his nickname in real life too, but he must know that there's already another famous singer using the name Mika, he could at least write himself as Mica or come up with something else, it's better to have an original brand name... I hope he doesn't want to take advantage of the name, some people can easily get confused because of it.

My DIY project for today... Familiar colours, don't you think?

Just a little story... Today I went to a concert which was a part of Prague Pride. At the very beginning before the first performance they started to play Grace Kelly. I know, it's the most basic Mika song, but I was so happy to hear it. However, after the first seconds I realized it's a cover! It was so weird to hear Grace Kelly without Mika's voice. It was so disappointing...

@Maria :) It's also really rare here to hear another song than GK or Relax. This was in a clothing store too. I walked by it and I had to stop and listen to the end of the song. And I also found Mika's Pilot Pens at the supermarket. It's nice to "see" and hear Mika while shopping...
