  1. I have to say that as much as I love Mika (in a platonic way) and also agree he is a handsome man, I've always felt a bit uncomfortable when some fans were posting shirtless images of him with "dirty" comments. I don't like when people sexualize women artists as much as men artists. Nobody has to feel guilty for their fantasies and there's nothing wrong on having a crush on a celebrity but I do agree that sharing these kind of thoughts publicly crosses a line a bit. On the other hand, Mika has never been a "sex symbol" to me, I've always loved him only as an artist and human being so I do respect that some fans may feel different about it and that's fine... But yeah, I've been thinking the same lately so I definitely know where this is coming from.

  2. I guess songwriting isn't my strenght as I've never been able to write poems but I'll try my best...

Quarantine, bring the freedom back to me :fisch:

    Dear quarantine

why are you still here with me

all I want is to be free, please don't hold me back

Dear quarantine, will all the madness ever end?

    Loneliness isn't a good friend

I've spent too much time at home

Oh baby, I'm missing, I'm missing, I'm missing my life

I'm missing all of these little things I used to do

    And now you said stop

I'm missing, I'm missing all my friends

Missing the places I should have seen

And the plans I had for now

I'm missing the cafés, the movies, the travels

Missing the concerts and the sleepless nights

Missing the classes and missing the free time

    I'm missing (dear quarantine)

Missing hanging out with no real task

Missing going shopping without a mask

Missing dancing and not keeping distance, I'm missing

    (to be continued :teehee:)

@giraffeandy have you already watched it till the end or just dropped in the middle? What's your thoughts about the series?

Tbh, I haven't watched much Netflix in the last few weeks so I've seen only 8 episodes so far... :lmfao: But the last two episodes were already better! This weekend I've binged Emily in Paris (I just needed something nice, happy and silly) and also I'm watching Las chicas del cable with my mother (to improve my Spanish :teehee:) so Lucifer wasn't on my schedule now but I will definitely continue watching. I just wasn't in the mood lately.

I think Deb said on the live on Friday that they'd be shipped around this weekend - I suppose it can take a few days til they arrive. :dunno: If not, then maybe Mikasoon?

I'm expecting that it will take 1-2 weeks but I think you should get a shipping confirmation because I've ordered there before so I'm assuming it's not on the way yet. Last time it took 1 week since the shipping confirmation (I've ordered from the UK shop).

For those of you who have submitted the request to convert the voucher into a refund on Ticketone:

have you received a confirmation e-mail right away? I've checked the spam and promo section, but I haven't received anything and it's been a couple of days already. I've also sent an e-mail to them asking if there's a problem, but - can you guess? - no answer :dunno:

It just took a couple of minutes today... If you won't receive it in the next few days, maybe you can try to send the request again? Just in case.

And he also talked about an EP and Arabic music here, even though in different contexts (I've shortened the article):

More and more people communicate online and listen to the same music. Have you ever felt that the language barriers between people affects them in the way they enjoy music?

Language has never been a barrier! This is why we can listen to Portuguese music, Arabic music, French music - even if we don’t understand the words, we can understand the music. The real issue is the media and distribution. They are much less likely to promote an artist from Cape Verde than they are from Los Angeles. The internet is changing that, thank goodness. One of the best ever concerts I’ve seen was Cesaria Evora from Cape Verde, just before she passed away. She sang barefoot and the audience in London lost their minds. Everyone was so happy, so warm. She was like a goddess or priestess and we didn’t understand a word!

What will you be up to this year?

This year I want to start making new music, NOT an album, a series of different EPs which have different styles, both musically and visually. This is something I’m very excited about. Also we are starting to film mini travel and culture documentaries during my travels. Where I go and explore whist on tour. I will also be filming in Seoul, so keep an eye out for me!

How could I forget that he sang Happy Ending and Tiny Love? 😲

Both were absolutely astounding performances too!

Admittedly after going to an actual real life concert I tend to have a day where my mind goes blank simply because I've taken so much in from what I've experienced. Didn't think that would happen with this! I was also really tired afterwards, it's not like I had to queue or stand in a crowd for hours but I got that kind of tiredness where I couldn't actually fall asleep for ages!

Indeed, it felt like a real concert experience, I was excited before the gig, I couldn't sleep afterwards because I couldn't stop thinking about the show, today I was still high but at the same time I have PMD... :lol3: Mika really exceeded my expectations and I'm always expecting a lot when it comes to Mika but this time it was even better than I could have ever imagined! :wub2: (Or maybe I was just really missing him on stage... :biggrin2:) But it's quite unbelievable what he and the team made in a couple of weeks, especially since his initial idea was a small garden gig.

Don't get me wrong I'm glad to watch it again and again but is this really fair? Especially when nearly 20,000 people payed to watch the live stream. The concert is for charity, it was never intended to be a free event. Whoever uploaded this would surely need permission? 🤔

I have to admit I downloaded the video too before it was shut down because I wanted to rewatch the gig today and I wasn't sure how long the link will work so I'm the last to judge even though I was going to use it just for my own purposes, I wouldn't upload it anywhere... But I think YouTube isn't the best platform if you don't want people to get the video because it's so easy to convert it. It was just a matter of time till someone uploads the whole gig. However, I still hope there will be an official way to buy it too, I would still pay for it.
