    Yay, finally Germany! :teehee: :roftl:

I have to say that when I asked Mika last year to add a tour date in Central Europe, I wasn't exactly expecting a show at 9pm Central European Summer Time... I guess the next time I have to be a little more specific. :lol3: But all jokes aside, it's been a while since we were buying tickets and looking forward to an event so it's quite exciting even though the occasion is a tragic one. However, Mika is a specialist in turning tragedies into art and doing the best out of a disastrous event. So I believe he will prepare something special and beautiful even under these circumstances. :mika2:

That would be a pssibility but he could perfectly sing it all in Spanish. He does it great and he proved it by singing TAY in Spanish. :wink2:

I don't doubt his ability to sing in all different languages at all. :biggrin2: I was just thinking if the song Me, Myself could be in Spanish even though it sounds unlikely. Maybe they did two songs together? Well, I guess we will see...

  3. According to this article, Mika is doing a live stream benefit concert for Beirut next month:

Mika stages live stream benefit concert ‘I Love Beirut’

Mika announces the ‘I Love Beirut’ benefit concert, which will be performed on Saturday 19 September and will be live-streamed across four time zones via YouTube. Tickets cost £10 / $10 / €10 and will be available from Ticketmaster alongside the GoFundMe campaign, where people can make additional donations to the cause with 100% of all proceeds being split across Red Cross Lebanon and Save the Children Lebanon. Tickets go on sale at 9am BST / 10am CET on Monday 24 August.

This intimate performance has been initiated by Lebanese born singer Mika after he was profoundly affected by the scale of devastation from the explosion in Beirut docks and its impact on the people of the city. Following on from his ‘Love Letter to Beirut’ (see note to editors below) which he wrote directly in the aftermath of the explosion. In an effort to do more he has created ‘I Love Beirut’, an event to raise funds to help those who have been affected by the devastating explosion.

Mika comments: “After all the years of civil war, financial crisis and political upheaval, the news of the tragic explosion was unbelievable. Although far away, my heart broke for the families losing their homes, their livelihoods and their loved ones in this catastrophe. I wanted to do something to help in any small way I can. That is why I am staging a live stream concert in aid of the people of the city. Beirut has been through so much and the resilience and strength the Lebanese people is undeniable. I have no doubt that the city will recover and the unique life of this magical city will resume once again. Beirut is the place of my birth, is part of me and will always be in my heart. ‘I ❤️ Beirut’.

The Lebanese United Nations team has reported the explosion was like 15 years of war in 15 seconds, comparing its impact to the devastation from the country's civil war that lasted from 1975 to 1990. Miles from the blast site apartments are wrecked and families left homeless. It's estimated 300,000 people do not have homes fit to live in, as Lebanon now has to undertake a single recovery effort of unprecedented scale.

Hospitals in Beirut are now overrun with wounded people, with some being referred to Tripoli, 50 miles to the north of Beirut, for treatment. The destruction of Beirut’s port will devastate the country further as it relies heavily on imports for its essential supplies. Red Cross Lebanon and Save the Children Lebanon are working around the clock to help those on the ground affected by the blast. Donations will fund immediate emergency response and wider long-term rehabilitation.

Donations to be made at: gofundme.com/ilovebeirut
Tickets will be made available via Ticketmaster at 9am BST / 10am CET on Monday, 24 August

  4. Do you think it will be the collab with Danna Paola? I'm confused because the song has an English title (if Me, Myself really is the official title) and it wasn't announced as a single yet, the rumour was it's "only" a track on her new album I think... So I'm not sure if the Spanish song is this one. On the other hand, it could be a Spanglish song as well, it's quite common to mix these two languages. :teehee:

All sorts of complications start to crop up - it's less about solving the cases, more about the interactions between the characters

Sounds good, I don't care about the cases so much so I really hope the characters get more space.

  6. I just started the first season this week on Netflix and – please don't hate me – I really like the characters but I find the cases a bit boring... Does the plot get more interesting with time?

  7. I got the answer from the European Consumer Centres Network and they confirmed that according to the article 183, paragraph 11, Law 17 July 2020, n.77, I should receive my money back if the concert is cancelled (without a new date) and I should fill the form on the website. So I did it even though it's very unclear what they mean by the refund now because a "reimbursement" still could be a voucher I guess... Well, let's see what happens.

Yeah, customer relations doesn't really seem to be a thing in Italy, apparently. :dunno:

Anyway iirc it was you who bought my spare Verona tickets? I'll take care of requesting the vouchers for the tickets I bought - will see if they need a name or not, and I'll send the voucher to you once I have it. But they said it might take a while til we get them.

I just have my own ticket, I didn't buy yours. I know I asked if you still have them but later I got better ones on TicketOne.

I'm still waiting for an information email from the seller …..:fisch:

Along with the fact that we've got no alternative choice , I find very unfair that we also have to ask for the voucher as it should be automatically sent to everyone

I find the whole formulation "It will be possible to request vouchers from the ticket circuits by and no later than 31 July 2020." very rude! I mean, it's their duty. I know it's not their fault that the concert can't take place but it isn't our fault either. We paid for something, we didn't get it and now we have almost no rights to get our money back? If I won't request my voucher until the 31st July, then they just keep my money for nothing? That's so unfair. I really wasn't worried about the refund till Thursday but I could never imagine it will be so bad. Now I feel quite scammed.

But I think that's the laws which are different, they made these especially due to Corona, to protect the production companies, ticket sellers, etc. - which is ok for me, as long as customers are also protected in some way,

That's why I tried to send an email to the European Consumer Centres Network because I think it's a really customer-unfriendly refund policy. I already got in touch with them once and they replied, even though it wasn't really helpful back then. However, they know the laws in different EU countries and they can help you if you need information about your rights in such situations. I don't think it will help but at least I want to know if it's legal according to the Italian law. I get that they want to protect the business but not under these conditions...

    I hope too😓

I have to say this is by far the most expensive ticket I've ever bought so I'm really quite angry now. There would be no problem with a voucher if the concert gets rescheduled, I already have one concert ticket and one festival ticket for the next year (no Mika) but now I'll get a voucher with an expiration date and I don't know if there will be any Mika gigs in Italy I can attend to use it. And I won't travel to Italy to see any other show, also there might be gigs I won't be able to attend because of the distance, date etc. At least you should receive your money back if you don't use the voucher and it expires. It's a lot of money.

All Italian gigs are CANCELLED, and we can just have a voucher as refund

Saying I’m angry is an understatement

That really sucks!  How long is the voucher valid and do you get your money back if you don't use it? Because the ticket was quite expensive and I would use the voucher only for a Mika gig... So I hope they will reschedule the concert in Verona.

    I am still hoping...

    Translation:

"Zaia opens the Arena of Verona to thousands of spectators, in complete safety. If we had waited for the state we would still be on the high seas. Another lesson for those who are against autonomy!"

Tbh I think Mika gave up on all the concerts this year and I can't even blame him for that...

There's new info on the Arena's website - tho I think it's only about the opera events, but it says August, so maybe they also plan to do the Mika gig like that - the stage in the center of the arena and the audience on the tribunes, so there's enough distance: https://www.arena.it/arena/en/pages/festival-2020-en.html ... Let's see if a) they plan that also for the pop concerts, b) if Mika agrees to this and c) if yes, how they'll distribute the tickets already bought.

Idk but it seems to me that there would be much fewer seats and the concert is already almost sold out so I don't think there would be enough space... :dunno: Also I guess keeping distance works better at a classical concert where people sit down silently than at a pop concert where the audience is more lively. Tbh I don't think it can take place under these conditions.

A miracle?  And he was veeeery punctual! This quarantine makes strange things with people :lmao:

I guess that's because people in general are so "bored" and there are not many things that would distract them as usual so once they have an appointment they are on time... Now with online classes, none of the students is missing and they are all punctual. :biggrin2:
