  1. As the schools are closed in many countries, let's begin with a lesson of geography... :biggrin2:

(it's quite old so it's not really up-to-date anymore but I think it's still really catchy...)

  2. I've only just got round to watching Mika's Instagram live message and I can't believe he watches my favourite TV show, His Dark Materials! (and I'm currently reading the trilogy again!) And he said he would like to do more shows here in the UK, I really hope so. Was hoping to see his dogs at home, I'm sure they're somewhere keeping him company. Stay safe Mika, keep yourself entertained by being creative, reading and watching great TV! 😀

  3. Bought another Mika poster and this time I remembered to check the measurements before paying! This one is 10" across, rather than 20" like the last one! Had my eye on another two which I've already bought, at this rate I'm going to have to find a new wall to put them on! 😄

  4. I can't see this book without hearing Mika sing... :fisch:

  6. Thinking of all the Italian fans here. I don't know how many of you live in or near the affected area but as long as it's possible, try to stay high not low... Hope you and your families are safe! Wish you health.  Of course that applies to everybody who lives in a country that is affected (at this point I think most of us do...).

  7. As things seem to get worse every day I hope you are all doing fine... don't give up! Especially the Chinese, Koreans and Italians among us! ❤

@sara09 Hopefully it won't hit Tuscany! I've seen some videos on Twitter where people were leaving Milan before midnight... It must have been scary to know the city is going to be shut down but at the same time, I hope these people won't spread the virus further. It's a difficult situation for everyone... I've been to Milan and other places in the area this summer and it's really hard to imagine the situation over there now. I always feel far more touched by such bad news when I know the place where it's happening.

Here there are 28 cases so far but the first ones were just a week ago, so nobody knows how the situation will develop, for now all the people have been in Italy or they are family members of someone who have been there. I have to say I'm a bit more careful nowadays as in a big city, the virus can spread very easily, also there are still many tourists and people arriving from Italy and other countries that are more affected. But it's really not possible to follow the recommendation such as staying at least 1,6 m or 2 m from other people when you are travelling by the metro every day... So I'm doing my best but you still need luck in such situations. Everyone should stay 2 weeks in a quarantine when arriving from Italy but I guess many people don't respect these rules. Also some events are affected. In two weeks there will be an Avril Lavigne concert I have a ticket for (I used to be a fan years ago and never saw her live) but I'm not sure if I should go there if it takes place or not, of course there's still a chance that it gets cancelled or postponed... I really hope this situation won't last till summer, that's the only thing I'm looking forward to.

  13. Bad news: There's a reconstruction in our house so there's a lot of noise lately (drilling etc.).

Good news: Songs like Dear Jealousy, Sanremo, Tomorrow or Platform Ballerinas sound really good when you play them really LOUD.

  14. guys :toot: it's important: we do have to do something to tell mika to pay attention to the coronavirus and we absolutely have to stop him from going to korea... please be careful Mika

It's not an easy decision. I get that he wanted to do the gig for the fans, on the other hand, I saw someone on Twitter calling Mika "selfish" before, I guess because he didn't cancel the gigs at first even though it may be risky for the fans... Hopefully the situation gets better so no other gigs will be postponed (maybe except Tokyo) and all these postponed gigs are going to take place later.

@silver Explain that to my mother or my grandmother who was already worried the last time I was in Italy even before the situation got worse there and told me to stay at home from now...  Of course, I don't have to listen to them but at the same time, I can't ignore them unless I move out and stop talking to my grandma...

  16. Got excited for a minute over on Instagram because I saw the Union Jack posted by MFC, for a slight second I thought Mika was coming back to the UK until I realised my phone had glitched the screen and it was actually the New Zealand flag 😔

Please Mika after NZ, Australia, Japan and Korea, please please please add another UK date! I miss you!

It's a really complicated situation. I get that Mika doesn't want to disappoint his fans, it means a lot to him. He doesn't want to cancel a gig unless it's inevitable.

Tbh, I'm also a bit afraid about the situation in Italy right now, I really hope it gets better...  My mum already told me yesterday I shouldn't travel to Italy anymore (I've been there 3 weeks ago for the Mika gig) and of course, she can't forbid me to travel to Verona in summer because I'm an adult but still, I would feel bad if she wouldn't approve it and would worry too much... :emot-sad:

  18. I met Mika after his concert in Auckland and he is 10000x better than I could have ever imagined. His concert was stunning and seeing him irl is too much

  19. Today it's three months since my first Mika gig... :cloud:

@Lilyen Soft and fluffy sounds good... :naughty: On both Mika concerts I've been to, I saw people throwing something on the stage and Mika always picked it up, so feel free to do it as long as it's safe. :winksmiley02:

@Lilyen You can try it when you are close to the stage, just be careful that you don't hit anyone! :original:

  22. I have a story I'd like to share about how Mika's music helped me at school. It's too long to put here as a status so is there an appropriate thread I could put it in? Somewhere I can thank MFC or Mika would be good or a thread about school bullying?

  23. So glad that at least the show in Paris was filmed for TV so we have something to come back to now when the big show is apparently over... I watched it yesterday and it helped me a lot with being a bit sad about missing the last show. Social media is nice but sometimes it can hurt. :lmfao: I especially loved Paloma, I have to say it's not my favourite song on the setlist, but in Paris it seemed to be one of the best moments. Thank you again @carafon for sending me the link!

  25. I don't know if MFC is the right place for it but since I can't discuss this on social media or irl, I thought I could try it here... What would you do, if someone really close to you express themselves in a slightly homophobic way? Would you try to convince him/her otherwise? Would you just ignore it and avoid this topic in conversations? Or would you even stop meeting such a person ?

The thing is, I have a best friend I know for ages, she is the closest person I have in my life besides my family. But it really bothers me when she speaks about someone being gay as it would be a bad/not normal thing. I tried to explain it to her but I think it's not so easy to change her mind about it. She tolerates people being gay but she doesn't approve it if you know what I mean. And I really hate it but at the same time, I know she is not a bad person and it's really hard for me because she is like my sister. It's a similar feeling like when someone in your family says something you don't agree with but at the same time you don't want to argue about it because those people are so close to you but it still bothers you a lot. I hope it makes sense. What do you think about it?

    1. giraffeandy

      giraffeandy

@Irem Aytepe I guess I have to accept it and hope she changes her mind someday... Of course I won't stop pointing out what I think about it.

But thank you all for your support! It helps when I can express my feelings and thoughts about it somewhere where it's safe to do so.
