  1. I just realized that I've been to this venue before (but not during the festival, just to visit the arena).
  2. There are many artists I'd like to see making a song with Mika but my first thought was Christine and the Queens. I love the EP La Vita Nuova from last year and I could imagine them making a song together, probably a sad dance song, something like Rain, or even a ballad. It could be both in English and in French (or a mixture of both like People I've Been Sad from Christine and the Queens, I know Mika likes this song too because it has been on one of his playlists lately). I think it would be a great collaboration, even though I usually prefer Mika's songs without any guests.
  3. Yes but he also said that the album is dead nowadays and that he wants to release EPs. Of course, when it comes to Mika, we never know... But it is possible that there won't be a "new album" with 12 songs but maybe he'll release less songs sooner.
  4. The question is – will there be a new album or is he going to release several EPs instead? In the latter case he could release the first EP even before the festivals.
  5. New Christmas tree decorations we bought yesterday. (We have a lot of old ones but some of them got broken over the years...)
  6. WAIT, what... I had to google it now and on Genius it says stupid: https://genius.com/Mika-origin-of-love-lyrics And to me it actually does make sense.
  7. I agree but on the other hand, Easter is not only a Christian tradition, apparently there used to be a pagan tradition of "welcoming spring" and later it was mixed with the religion so some traditions aren't even originally religious. And I get the impression that many people nowadays celebrate the spring aspect more (at least in my country) so it still can be a meaningful holiday.
  8. It's funny because we do have this tradition but at the same time we have one of the biggest percentage of atheist/ non believer people here so I doubt you can call us catholic. However, we still hold a lot of traditions based on Christianity.
  9. I used to have Advent calendars as a child, Saint Nicholas brought them to me every year on the evening of 5th December. But nowadays I don't have them anymore, the problem with them is the fact that the cheap ones have bad chocolate inside and the expensive ones are so expensive considering the small amount of chocolate inside that it's much cheaper to buy a "normal" chocolate bar from the same producer. Or buy them after Saint Nicholas because that's when all the Christmas sweets are on sale here...
  10. This part sounds very familiar, don't you think @Hero? "Two totally confused Mika fans lost at Gare du Nord at 1 am"
  11. Here I have to say that I'm also used to pay for cloakrooms, especially in concert halls etc., that's why I don't use them unless I have too many things to carry... In Paris I only had a light jacket so I left it on my seat.
  12. Today marks two years since the first time I saw Mika live at a gig! :taz:

@Prisca I've never used it before and don't know why is it here but I found it fitting. :lmfao:

I mostly use that when it comes to dancing, because that's how I dance. :lmfao::taz:

  13. Yes but it was the price of a meal at an average restaurant, not the price of a meal at a fast food... I didn't dare to enter a normal restaurant, without McDonald's I would probably stay hungry.
  14. I put my two cents into the "Swiss prices" debate – my first Mika gig was in Zurich, I travelled by bus the night before (I arrived in the morning of the gig) and then I left in the same night after the gig (around 1-2 am) so I slept two nights in the bus because I didn't want to spend money on a hotel room in Zurich. I also had the most expensive meal at McDonald's I've ever had (even though the menu was better than in most McDonald's in Europe). It was really nice to visit Zurich (and I've never been to Geneva either...) but I think I'll pass on this festival.
  15. Thank you, yes indeed it looks beautiful but I hope there'll be more dates and maybe even some destinations easier to get to... There are direct flights to Toulouse but you still need to take a train to Albi. And I can't imagine taking the train for the whole trip (I was considering it for Paris but it would take about 12 hours, while the plane took 1,5 hours ).
  16. If there's something in the northern part of Italy or at least near a big city in the south, I wouldn't mind (still imagining how great Verona could have been... ). In France only if it's a big city (or nearby), otherwise it's quite complicated for me to get there. Barcelona would be amazing, I've been there years ago but it's one of my favourite cities so I'd love to come back! (and finally all the Spanish courses would pay off ) Even Cap Roig looks doable... Oh, this dreaming feels so good.
  17. Ask for the new employee benefit called Mikadays!
  18. Tal vez nos vemos en España! (sorry for the non-english content... )
  19. I'm happy for you, hopefully it's true. Me too! But you know what's funny? Years ago I was hoping Mika would have a concert nearby (let's say 500 km away, at the most ). Well, since 2016 he hadn't. But now I'm so used to travel that I'm looking forward to visit new places and the whole planning kind of became part of the concert experience. So this time, I don't expect a show in Central Europe. I'm ready to go wherever it might be (as long as it's a place with good connection, of course). However, I guess my bank account is still recovering from Paris.
  20. How do you feel about LYWID? (Just for the record – I like the song but I find it a bit silly.)
  21. Yes, especially since for me it was a surprise. I opened the programme before the show but I only noticed I Went to Hell Last Night and I was already so excited to hear that song for the first time ever live that I completely missed there's No Place In Heaven too. Then I heard the beginning of the song and that's when I suddenly noticed that they are really playing NPIH.
  22. I guess that's actually the only thing I understood – I know that at one point on Saturday he mentioned the show Queen's Gambit where the protagonist can imagine the chessboard on the ceiling. Btw, it's a really great Netflix series!
  23. I wasn't filming or taking pictures during the concert so I only have these...
  24. I'm so overwhelmed, still on cloud nine, these four days in Paris were just incredible. I had the best time and met so many of you for the first time. Thank you @Hero, @Prisca, @SarahV, @Dominika and all the other fans I've seen this weekend, you were all so kind! And thanks to @dcdeb and the other MFCers who organized the gatherings. The boat trip was fantastic, I couldn't imagine a better way to spend my birthday.
