like stupid Adam and Eve they found the love on a tree...
I never understood why are they stupid...
And I coincidently red the lyrics and realized
it used to be Adam and Eve...
WAIT, what...
I had to google it now and on Genius it says stupid: https://genius.com/Mika-origin-of-love-lyrics
And to me it actually does make sense.

In Switzerland there are still more Catholics (at least on paper) than atheists, but the atheists have now overtaken the Protestants because more and more are leaving the church.
This is in line with what a former professor of mine said. Most people in Europe (I don't think this applies to all countries) are no longer believers, but they like to take the decorations of faith with them: Christmas and Easter celebrations, the food that comes with it, all the traditions that are fun, etc.
I agree but on the other hand, Easter is not only a Christian tradition, apparently there used to be a pagan tradition of "welcoming spring" and later it was mixed with the religion so some traditions aren't even originally religious. And I get the impression that many people nowadays celebrate the spring aspect more (at least in my country) so it still can be a meaningful holiday.

Thanks! No, we don't have this tradition, maybe it's something specific for catholic religion?
It's funny because we do have this tradition but at the same time we have one of the biggest percentage of atheist/ non believer people here so I doubt you can call us catholic. However, we still hold a lot of traditions based on Christianity.

I used to have Advent calendars as a child, Saint Nicholas brought them to me every year on the evening of 5th December.
But nowadays I don't have them anymore, the problem with them is the fact that the cheap ones have bad chocolate inside and the expensive ones are so expensive considering the small amount of chocolate inside that it's much cheaper to buy a "normal" chocolate bar from the same producer. Or buy them after Saint Nicholas because that's when all the Christmas sweets are on sale here...

When I got there, the app kept showing that there was another metro. When I got there, the app showed that I had about 3 minutes before the last metro left. But I think it was just this door that I heard closing when I got there (so the last metro left earlier than indicated). So, I ran to the other metro line (in the wrong direction at first ) and when I got there, as I had feared, the metro was already gone. The metro station was closed. So, I had to ask the cleaner if he could open the door of the metro station . Which he did.
So, I had to take the night bus from the previous day again
This part sounds very familiar, don't you think @Hero? "Two totally confused Mika fans lost at Gare du Nord at 1 am"

In Switzerland, it's usually the case that you have to pay for the cloakroom. At Mika's concert in Zurich, I had to pay for the cloakroom.
7 minutes ago, krysady said:Switzerland it's another story, you know, it's Switzerland
Here I have to say that I'm also used to pay for cloakrooms, especially in concert halls etc., that's why I don't use them unless I have too many things to carry... In Paris I only had a light jacket so I left it on my seat.

At least it was good.
Quality has its price.
Yes but it was the price of a meal at an average restaurant, not the price of a meal at a fast food... I didn't dare to enter a normal restaurant, without McDonald's I would probably stay hungry.

I put my two cents into the "Swiss prices" debate – my first Mika gig was in Zurich, I travelled by bus the night before (I arrived in the morning of the gig) and then I left in the same night after the gig (around 1-2 am) so I slept two nights in the bus because I didn't want to spend money on a hotel room in Zurich. I also had the most expensive meal at McDonald's I've ever had (even though the menu was better than in most McDonald's in Europe). It was really nice to visit Zurich (and I've never been to Geneva either...) but I think I'll pass on this festival.

Albi is quite a big city with many historic places to visit
Not far away from Toulouse if you want to fly . The train connections are ok too
Thank you, yes indeed it looks beautiful but I hope there'll be more dates and maybe even some destinations easier to get to... There are direct flights to Toulouse but you still need to take a train to Albi. And I can't imagine taking the train for the whole trip (I was considering it for Paris but it would take about 12 hours, while the plane took 1,5 hours ).

If there's something in the northern part of Italy or at least near a big city in the south, I wouldn't mind (still imagining how great Verona could have been... ). In France only if it's a big city (or nearby), otherwise it's quite complicated for me to get there. Barcelona would be amazing, I've been there years ago but it's one of my favourite cities so I'd love to come back! (and finally all the Spanish courses would pay off ) Even Cap Roig looks doable... Oh, this dreaming feels so good.

That would be too good to be true. I wouldn't even have to leave my country.
I'm happy for you, hopefully it's true.

Me too! But you know what's funny? Years ago I was hoping Mika would have a concert nearby (let's say 500 km away, at the most ). Well, since 2016 he hadn't. But now I'm so used to travel that I'm looking forward to visit new places and the whole planning kind of became part of the concert experience. So this time, I don't expect a show in Central Europe. I'm ready to go wherever it might be (as long as it's a place with good connection, of course). However, I guess my bank account is still recovering from Paris.

For me it's the most silliest song ever from all his songs!
I hope he'll never consider including that one on the symphonic concerts
How do you feel about LYWID? (Just for the record – I like the song but I find it a bit silly.)

No Place In Heaven it was one of my favorite moments on Saturday, I loved his performance on this first night the most
Yes, especially since for me it was a surprise. I opened the programme before the show but I only noticed I Went to Hell Last Night and I was already so excited to hear that song for the first time ever live that I completely missed there's No Place In Heaven too. Then I heard the beginning of the song and that's when I suddenly noticed that they are really playing NPIH.

(there, I need your help, I obviously don't know what reference he uses - I already wondered at the concert)
I guess that's actually the only thing I understood – I know that at one point on Saturday he mentioned the show Queen's Gambit where the protagonist can imagine the chessboard on the ceiling.
Btw, it's a really great Netflix series!

I'm so overwhelmed, still on cloud nine, these four days in Paris were just incredible. I had the best time and met so many of you for the first time. Thank you @Hero, @Prisca, @SarahV, @Dominika and all the other fans I've seen this weekend, you were all so kind! And thanks to @dcdeb and the other MFCers who organized the gatherings. The boat trip was fantastic, I couldn't imagine a better way to spend my birthday.

At least this time we know he'll be in France... That's already more than usually.

Who of you is planning to get tickets for Friday night for the Voice?
Hanging out alone somewhere in Paris on Friday night is not really my plan either.
I was considering applying for the ticket but I think I'll pass, the studio seems to be quite far away from the center, I don't speak French, it takes long and around midnight I'll be probably tired after the morning flight... So I guess I prefer to be fresh for Saturday, I have a lot of sightseeing to do before the meeting. I can't believe I'll be seeing Mika singing with the orchestra in 5 days.

Ok, so if I want to buy a ticket and don't want to pay for a Navigo Pass, my only option now is the SMS ticket?
I've already downloaded the app Bonjour RATP but even there you need the Navigo Pass to buy a single ticket... I'll probably use the metro just a couple of times so I don't need a prepaid card for that.

I post here even if off topic. I find an app that has maps that work offline too, it's CityMaps2go. It's for Apple and Android. I tried it and worked for Paris.
On Google Maps you can also download the map for a certain area (can be the whole city) and then you can use it offline. You just don't see the reviews etc.
