  1. I feel you! I bought high heels for the gig during sale in June...last month I sold them online.
  2. I have a favour to ask you, is here anybody who would pay for me by Paypal if I would pay him back by SEPA?
  3. I've just heard Mika on TV, they used Happy Ending for a teaser. But to be honest, this is the first time I'm not really happy about it, because it's a teaser for a horrible soap opera that already has over 4000 episodes (just for the record, I had to google it, I haven't seen any of them!), basically the worst show you can watch on TV... Well, at least the music in the teaser is good.
  4. So it's better to visit the area around Arc de Triomphe on Friday and make plans in other parts of the city for Saturday (maybe even some indoor activites like galleries)? I'll have time on Friday afternoon and on Saturday before the concert for sightseeing so I'm grateful for any tips. Also my friend who used to live there for a while recommended the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, it's quite near the Philharmonie. If the weather is good, maybe it would be a good place for meeting up on Saturday, far away from the protests.
  5. I'm sorry, I was too lazy to connect my camera for the Zoom meeting (I have a PC and I disconnect the webcam while I don't use it because I'm paranoid ) and also I have a cold so I was just listening today... But regarding the schedule, I don't know if I would like to travel to the northern part of Paris for a brunch on Saturday as I'm not staying at the Mercure. However, if there would be a gathering before the gig in the late afternoon/evening, I'm ready to come. Btw, if anybody wants to join me on Friday or Saturday for sightseeing (nothing in particular, just a regular city walk if the weather is nice enough of course), I'd be very happy and I don't have a problem with swapping phone numbers.
  6. Of course it is but that wasn't my point, I wasn't reacting to the gig this weekend, just saying that I wouldn't mind wearing the mask during the symphonic gigs so I don't care as much if we can take them off or not.
  7. Also check this page, every now and then there are some tickets for sale: https://bourseauxbillets.philharmoniedeparis.fr/list/resaleProducts/?lang=en&dateFrom=23.10.2021&dateTo=24.10.2021 I've seen tickets for both dates just a while ago, it seems they are already sold but it's worth checking out from time to time.
  8. I don't mind wearing the mask tbh, I expect it will be rather cool in the venue and you won't move/sing during this type of gig so I don't really need to take it off. Btw, I recommend the nano ffp2 masks, they are a little bit more expensive than a "classic" ffp2 mask but more breathable (however, the efficacy is the same). I used them this summer while travelling and they are more comfortable to wear for a longer period of time. I find there's also quite a difference between the "classic" ffp2 masks, some of them are really uncomfortable while others don't bother me at all (unless it's really hot but I don't think that will be the case in this venue in October). I know that some of you were planning to order some "fancy" masks from Amazon and of course is tempting to have a mask that matches your outfit but I'd be rather careful, once I bought a set of pink ffp2 masks because I liked the colour but they were really stiff and uncomfortable to wear. I think it's better to have a mask that suits you from the inside rather than from the outside.
  9. The day of the cruise (Sunday), are you gonna change your clothes before the gig? I guess for those staying near the venue it won't be a problem but for those staying elsewhere, the schedule is quite packed... At least there will be the cloakrooms so you can change your shoes, handbag etc. I think I could wear my trouser outfit on that day with some extra layers (depends on the weather but I guess on the boat it will be rather cool) and leave some things in the cloakroom.
  10. But when I transfer the money from my bank account to Paypal, there's no conversion fee? My bank account is not in Euros.
  11. Are there any other fees I should be aware of? I'm going to register to Paypal just for this one payment and I'm already aware of the conversion fee + now the payment fee so I hope there isn't a fee for registration too...
  12. Exactly, they advise you to walk around a lot but don't wear sneakers? I think nowadays you can buy very elegant sneakers so they don't have to look like sports shoes at all, they are often even meant for walking in the city rather than doing sports, decorated (for example with rhinestones) etc. Of course they are still casual but I really don't see the point in wearing heels while sightseeing to look more Parisian... Especially since I don't speak French at all.
  13. I wear a ffp2 mask everywhere, I think that should be enough for all occasions...
  14. My personalized Release Radar on Spotify today... Thank you so much Spotify, I would almost miss the new Mika song!

  15. Tbh, I don't think Mika is going to start a new tour before releasing his next album... Especially since he officially "gave up" on the Revelation Tour and destroyed the stage set. Maybe he will do some festivals (that's indeed possible as many of them were postponed) but I don't expect a whole tour. However, I could be wrong of course (and I'd be really glad to be wrong this time).
  16. I know it's the anniversary of the explosion in Beirut today but I really needed to hear Mika's voice right now... :cloud: I was so nervous and stressed out because in 24 hours I'm travelling for the first time since the pandemic started and of course I'm excited but at the same time, I felt overwhelmed because there are so many things you have to take care of nowadays. For a moment I lost the joy and felt horrible. Hearing Mika singing Heroes calmed me down and brought me to tears but in a good way. I feel so much better now, Mika's soft voice really is the best tranquilizer in the world. :tea:

  17. I'm in the same situation... I'd love to be close to others but I'm arriving on Friday and want to go sightseeing etc. I don't want to stay in an area where I have to rely on someone else because I would be afraid to walk alone there. Also this part of the city is quite far away from Orly. On the other hand, it would be of course convenient to stay in a hotel near the venue. However, since this is my first time in Paris, I'd prefer to stay near the center and enjoy the city as much as possible rather than to stay in the suburbs and travel all the time to the center. Even though the gigs are the main reason why I'm travelling to Paris, I want to spend a greater part of the day in the city center. I guess I will take a taxi although it will be expensive.
  18. We can team up and take a MFC tour... But we would need a tour guide.
  19. Well, you have to get to your hotel after the gig. And that's quite late. Even before the gig it will be already dark in October.
  20. I booked a hotel in the 5th arrondissement (near the Saint-Michel metro station). I think the closer the center, the safer. Also a friend of mine who used to live there said that I should avoid the northern part of the city and especially the 18th arrondissement (overnight).
  21. I'm not that worried, I mean of course it would be a huge disappointment but regarding the planning, I can cancel or change the hotel reservation, I can also change the dates for the plane ticket (although it's not possible to cancel it, but I can change the passenger as well so it's quite flexible) and the gig ticket itself – well, if it won't happen, there'll be either another date or cancellation (please NO )... At this point, I don't think that it would take place if the situation would be that bad that I couldn't travel to France at all. Since I'm vaccinated, I feel a bit more optimistic about travelling. Of course, I'm still cautious and I wear my mask inside etc. But even though France is red again according to our "traveller map", I'm not as concerned as I used to be because next week I'm hopefully going to travel to another red country (that wasn't planned but it got red so fast as many countries all over Europe...) and I hope it'll be fine. And yeah, the clothes & accessory – I have the same size since I was a teenager and I can still wear most of the things I bought for other occasions so it's still a good investment.
  22. Same, I'm a huge planner when it comes to Mika gigs but an even bigger procrastinator when it comes to my diploma thesis for example...
