And same. I missed seeing posts that are clearly by himself, and not by some faceless social media manager like the posts during the gigs, while Mika was on stage. I'm ok with Adam filming, like the stories from Berlin - then at least I know who it is... but the best is when it's obviously Mika filming himself. He can have someone from his team post updates on his website, or on X and Threads and Tiktok... but Instagram, to me, is for the connection between Mika and his fans, the most connection you get as a fan who can't travel to every gig. I mean, if he wants to use IG only for promo purposes and join MFC instead, to interact with us more directly, that's fine for me too...  I just don't see that happening.

Maybe Mika is going there today, who knows. I know they are friends and Mika appreciates his art

Also, and this is for everyone, no matter if you're going to the gig or not, @MFC_Hasi has offered to bake one of her amazing cakes for Mika, as a gift from his German fans and from any MFCers who are interested in joining. We're gonna have it delivered to his dressing room, although of course we're aware that he probably won't eat it, as he has to keep to a diet to be able to do his high energy shows. But Miri's cakes are a work of art (you can see some of them on her Instagram profile https://www.instagram.com/miris.backzauber/) - so Mika can enjoy the artwork, and then maybe his crew wants to eat the cake.  Depending on how many want to contribute, and how much, we can also add flowers. The cake will be around 50€ and I think the best option is to leave it up to everyone how much they want to contribute and then see if there's enough for a flower bouquet in addition to the cake. I have to talk with Miri and Saskia again, but I think we should be able to add a card with all the names of fans who contributed. So if you want to take part in this, you can paypal me your contribution to mellody24@gmx.de and let me know in the message field there, or here in the thread, what name you'd like to be added to the card (nickname, first name or full name, it's up to you).

Well, after a lot, and I mean a LOT, of back and forth, I can finally announce the details for our MFC pre-gig party in London, on Monday, 8th April, the day before Mika's show at the Eventim Apollo on 9th April.

 

I've started this new thread with the details -- thought it was getting a little confusing in the previous thread.

 

So...

 

WHO: MIKA FAN CLUB (AKA US!)

WHAT: PRE-GIG PARTY

WHEN: MONDAY, 8TH APRIL, 6:30 TO 9:30PM

WHERE: THE DISTILLERS - HAMMERSMITH, 64 Fulham Palace Road, London, W6 9PH

HOW: Anyway you want to, anyway you've got to... love love me... (oops!)

 

COST: £15/person payable at the door includes food and SOME drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). For those of you who have paid in advance, don't worry! I have you noted.

 

NOTE: The Distillers are expecting about 35-40 people, which is what I have on the list right now. If additional people show up unexpectedly, they can still join the party, but may have to pay extra for any food or beverage.

 

We will have our own private room and should be able to play our own music. They will serve us party platters with a variety of foods, including several gluten-free choices. Because we needed to pre-order, I've selected:

 

- Falafel & minted coconut yoghurt (pb)
- Sweetcorn Fritters, roasted tomato salsa (pb) GF
- ⁠Vietnamese spicy chicken wings GF
- Harissa prawn skewers, sriracha & honey mayo GF
- ⁠Mini fish & chips

 

If none of that appeals you, or you need more to eat, you should be able to order off the menu, but at your own expense.

As you can see, it's quite close to the Eventim Apollo -- which is one of the reasons I switched to this place over the other (The Crabtree) that I was in discussions with. Also, The Distillers had more GF options and were willing to come up with a way that we could use their private room. All in all, a win for us!

yes, the Album pre-listening is definitely more interesting, but not possible for me because next week I have to work, so I decided to come to Paris for the Voice

And yes, hopefully in the next few months more fans will have the chance to meet Mika, I suppose he will do many nice events

Well, few minutes before we were talking about the fact that only 2 italians were there so I assumed that he was meaning that he needs more support from the italians in this releasing phase. He said in italian " per le italiane: dovete aiutarle!" 

I didn't intepret like we need translations

I think he was simply surprised to see only 2 italians, when in the past outside the Voice there were many. 

Maybe some others will attend the next recordings, travelling is expensive and it's not always possible

As I look at all these videos, though, I have to say it's a shame that so many crowded around him -- those stuck in the back of the group didn't have a chance to speak to him at all, and I imagine they couldn't really hear over all the other talking, because I even have trouble hearing what's being said. We have this problem nearly every time, and it's a shame - I wish there was a way to organize these informal gatherings a bit better. I guess it's the control freak in me, but I think it's much better to line up and wait for him to work his way down the line, that way everyone gets the chance to have a few words with him.   I hope it goes better tonight, if he even comes out after the recording.

Hi! sorry, no time so far to read the forum! I am reading this thread now. I was actually speaking about this with the French girls yesterday.

Me and Manuela were the only 2 italians that night. We were all waiting for him at the exit (no barriers)

Personally I have waited at the gate without moving from there and other fans were waiting in the area around the exit. So when Mika walked to us I didn't take any step or pushed, I was just standing where I was. Many fans came forward with their gifts, calling his name loudly. I didn't know every face, maybe some of them were fans located in France who were at the recording that night, Idk

He thanked Manuela for her gift and I was able to say few words about a special performance made by a contestant, he agreed with me that it was amazing! at that point he said that the italian presence warmed his heart (I didn't expect him to say something like this, lol). Then I stepped back to let other people talk to him and I realize that he was surrounded by some very "excited" fans... it reminded me a little bit of the London M&G at the Royal Festival Hall

Then he said he's happy to be supported by fans during the releasing of the album and also said "aiutate le italiane". I suppose he's hoping to have more support from the Italians during this phase...and maybe he's feeling that the italian audience is not following him like before.  At this point I was at least 4 or 5 meters from him but when he said goodbye he looked at me again and smiled. This was very sweet from him and I think he recognizes who is respectful and who is not

Btw, I noticed that unfortunately some fans can't control their excitement.

I couldn't help but agree with him, as I was thinking that myself yesterday, as I saw all the posts the LRI made about their day of tree-planting. These people are literally planting hope for tomorrow, hope for a better future. The LRI's motto is "Plant Trees. Change Lives." It's very inspirational. So thank you from me, too, for making this project happen -- I'm very lucky to have been a part of it and am so grateful to all of you.

The show at the Stade de France was unbelievable!! Agree with you on the suit, he couldn't choose a better one! He was shining like a (silver) star🌟🌟😅it was a very complicated show to put on and he really made his best! The lights were also beautiful💛💙💚❤🧡it's incredible to think that behind 5 minutes show there is a HUGE work of months, made by Mika together with his team/collaborators.

I love the video and the animations😍! During the weekend I have been listening to the song (a lot!) and I finally had the time to read the lyrics more carefully. On Youtube music app they were already available. I love the message of loving each other despite everything's going on around us. To resist together. It took me a while (well, 2 days ) to appreciate Apocalypse Calypso but now I can't stop listening to it the sound is very catchy as well. 

I have been waiting so long to see Mika in Germany and finally it's happening! Berlin and Amsterdam are the only tickets I could buy for now. It's very difficult for me to plan my schedule for March 2024 See you there for those who are coming!

He is in a very good health! both physically and vocally. But every singer or performer needs a break after a tour, no matter if it's a festival or an album promo tour.

Mika's energy is incredible, he's hyperactive and sometimes he forgets to have enough rest.

Concerning these words, I suppose the interview was recorded during the last few weeks so he was meaning the upcoming summer festivals. I think he will take a little break from the concerts, after this busy schedule. He needs to. I care more about his health than about having more gigs in the autumn.  Then it wouldn't have much sense to announce a new tour without any album released. Maybe he will just do some spot shows or private gigs or TV appearances.

He's certainly planning some TV stuff so I suppose we will get more details in the next few months 

Concerning his postponing the albums release: It's true that he said to have many songs ready (in the last 2 years he's been teasing us ) but this doesn't mean that they were good enough to be released. I remember he said last year, during the American tour, that he presented his songs to his record company. Maybe they weren't approved by them and he had to write them all over again. Who knows. Same with the French album. He's also a perfectionist and he will release the albums only when he will be actually convinced about his work.

The fact that he said "La nuova musica arriverà dopo, piano piano" makes me think that we have to be still patient 

But one thing it's sure: he won't let us without contents or events for long 💖

There will be not only roses, but also the flowers he is using on this summer tour. Being 34, we also thought to give him a box of 6 bottles of local wine and 4 bouquets of flowers for the band. I love this way of conceiving age so I could say "I am at level 40"  

When Giorgia asked Mika about his day routine, he replied by saying that he usually goes to sleep very late, like those who work in bars or clubs. Some of his perfomances start very late (like 1 AM) in Spain or Morocco. So he goes to bed at 3 o 4 AM most of the times, during the festival season

Concerning the Italian summer festivals, they will be quite spontaneous because his main goal is to reconnect with the italian audience.

Yes, Chiara -- I meant to say that. Mika is grateful to ALL of us, not just me! He knows the love and support that comes from Mika Fan Club members, and I'm certain that he treasures every bit of it! As I often say during the Instagram Lives, without all of you, there would be no point in me sitting there every week -- YOU ALL make up the fan club and I am happy to be able to do what I do because of YOU!
