I had the same issue on twitter, got a notification for Mika yesterday but the actual post was from weeks ago! 🤨

Not really a film recommendation (but there is a book connection), yesterday I watched the 25th anniversary special of The Phantom of the Opera performance done at Royal Albert Hall (aired on Sky Arts and can be watched online). I've never seen the musical myself at the theatre but my word that performance was wonderful! 10 minutes in and I was already crying at the music, then I cried at the end and then Sarah Brightman was a specail guest right at the very end after the show and she sings 'Phantom of the Opera', which made me cry all the more! 😭 The music from Phantom is very special to me and even though I only watched this on TV I was still enthralled by every minute of it. I dread to think what I would be like if I do ever see it at a theatre, I'm gonna need a LOT of tissues! It's definitely something I would watch again and recommend to anyone if you're into your musicals! I really want to watch the film versions too to see how they compare as well. Now I did read the book by Gaston Leroux a few years ago and the musical definitely holds up to it. Some things are different and the book goes into more detail with the character development of the lead roles. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the book and found the story quite beautiful actually.

Had a lovely Mika dream last night where I got the chance to meet him before a concert! I was in Blackpool having a look around when I got a phone call from a woman saying that Mika would call me next to discuss where we were going meet. I couldn't believe Mika was going to call me and I was very excited! He rang within minutes and told me to meet him near a little market. I headed there straight away and waited. And waited... of course Mika was late! He turned up eventually and we chatted for a while. I'd made my own tiger head to show him and he loved it! He also had a gift to give me, one of his capes! It was one of the recent ones with green flowers at the bottom and yellow at the top (he signed the back of it too). I tried it on with the tiger head and Mika said I looked good enough to go to his concert! The concert was inside Blackpool tower in a really small room that looked almost like a class room, everyone had to sit down behind desks! A group of Mika fans at the back complimented me on my outfit, I wanted to sit near them but the I could only find a seat near the middle of the room. Another fan wanted to sit next to me but she was rather rude about my outfit and marched off! At least I got the little seating area all to myself! Before the concert started a woman came up to me (turns out she was the one who called me before) and said Mika would meet me again after the concert to discuss an art contract with him. It wasn't long then before Mika turned up on the small stage at the front of the room, I think the first song was Lollipop and he too was wearing his tiger head with a bright green cape. I remember dancing but not much more after that. Quite a fun dream though!

I was looking at the M&S website and they do a Percy Pig desk lamp! I may walk out of there with quite a bit of piggy merch!

That's it, I'm going!

Strangely* today I've actually been thinking about venus fly traps, I guess because I plan on going to a lovely garden center in a couple of weeks and maybe I'll find one there! But then I couldn't believe that this ad you shared @QueenBigFat came on the TV today! Definitely taking it as a sign that I'll find a venus fly trap soon! Either that or I'll meet my future partner in a garden center... *is it though?

Happy Birthday to my dog who is 11 today! She thought the fireworks last night were for her and who am I to tell her otherwise? 😌 Plenty of extra snacks today!

People do come from far and wide to visit this shop, it's quite well known and quite old, probably not far off it's 100th birthday or there abouts! They do sell some branded sweets but any other you can think of they probably have it! My local M&S closed down around 2 years ago so I never really got the chance to try many of their selection of sweets. So I can't answer this (and they have such a wider selection now that I really want to try, might take a trip to the next nearest M&S!) I do like Cadbury's though And those mini mini eggs too... And now I'm peckish

I don't remember a lot from my dreams last night other than Mika pulling me out from a large crowd of people just to tell me personally that new merch will be coming in the new year and it will fit more with the theme of QTTFT! I'm taking that as a positive omen that it will actually happen!

There's a sweet shop near me that sells them all year round!

I actually saw a very well known extra large confectionery egg in a local shop about 3 weeks ago, at first I thought it was a joke, maybe some kind of Christmas egg... 😅 But no! I saw it again yesterday and it's definitely an Easter egg! 🙈

Watched the Christmas special today and it was so enjoyable! It's so nice to see Mika and Lang Lang back again, they seemed to have formed a true friendship and it's lovely to see them joking with one another and also being in the moment with the music too. Thank you LL for the ideal gift idea too! Still think they should have swapped sides with that jumper though! The music was wonderful and the end performance beautiful!

I only got round to watching The Piano Christmas special today but had a Piano themed dream last night! I was in the hall of my old primary school but in my dream it was much larger to accommodate the crew and hosts of The Piano! I was sat near the back admiring Mika and Lang Lang, they were talking to people taking part and Claudia was there too. A woman then came up to me and said Mika wanted to talk to me privately after filming. I got really excited but also nervous at wondering what Mika would want to say to me. I could see eventually that filming was over but Mika didn't come over to me. I plucked up the courage to go over and speak to him myself and find out what he wanted to say. Because he wanted a private chat we went down into the schools basement, he didn't like me sitting on a chair that made me taller than him so we sat on little children's chairs! Turns out he wanted me to be the new host of The Piano but wanted to go over my old school reports first. I was surprised he wanted to look back at something from years ago but apparently he'd read in my report that I wasn't very good at working with people. I told him that wasn't true and would love the chance to be a host on The Piano. He said he'd give me a chance if I learned to play something on the piano and he would teach me. I sat with him and learned one song within minutes, Mika was impressed and gave me the job! The next thing I know I'm suddenly playing a piano in Times Square, New York with a woman sat behind me judging me! There were some Mika fans watching on but Mika himself wasn't there. After I'd finished playing the woman also said I'd be great hosting The Piano and congratulated me on getting the job! A nice dream albeit a little odd seeing as I've never been inside my old school's basement or been to New York!
