  1. My contribution: I was quite close when Mika got into the crowd during Big Girl! IMG_4121.MOV IMG_4122.MOV
  2. I don’t think he did Moi, Andy et Paris but it was an amazing experience! I have some photos and videos on their way.
  3. I made a spur-of-the-moment English version of Jane Birkin the other day! The translation is a bit choppy, but I wanted it to sound good as well as being mildly faithful to the original lyrics Jane Birkin but English.m4a
  4. I hope everyone’s trips went/are going well! My train ride was a bit hectic, we had some extra changes that we didn’t plan on.
  5. Should I share it here or is there a forum specifically for Mika song covers?
  6. This is probably my favorite song on the new album, and I hope I’ll get to see him sing it live today! I’ve tried recording myself singing an English version of the song, but the song itself is in a very awkward range for my voice, so I have to make some weird vocal jumps…
  7. I'm watching Ted Lasso, and, as someone who grew up in the Midwest, all the midwesternisms make me very happy!
  8. I’m absolutely in love with this song, this is definitely a new favorite!!
  9. Update: I did get a solo!! Well, everyone who auditioned got a solo, but I’m pretty happy with mine. It was definitely the Mika song that enticed the judges…
  10. This is super exciting! There’s actually a pretty good chance I will be able to go to this, which will be my first Mika concert I have ever attended!
  11. Yeah, I guess it is! I’m an alto, so my voice can’t hit a lot of high notes (I’m guessing Mika can sing higher than I can ) but I can sing low quite well. Plus, I felt like I could put a lot of dramatic emotion into that song.
  12. I’m back! After a rather long and busy time I am back on my Mika obsession! Something exciting that happened: I auditioned for a musical, and for my song I decided to sing Pick Up Off The Floor. I really hope it went well and I’m still waiting on the results. We will see if I got a solo or not!
  13. Words cannot express how excited I am for the song to come out!
  14. Our favorite pickled fish! <3 I'm very glad he is enjoying his holiday in Greece.
  15. Hello everyone! I haven’t been lurking around as often as I’d like because I have been quite busy…but I’m back (briefly) to share this photo I took while on a trip with my mother: a glorious Mika train! Unfortunately, it doesn’t mean our Mika. That didn’t stop me from getting a shock when I first saw it, though!
  16. I love train stations! I wish I had an excuse to travel by train more often.
  17. These freak me out because I own identical ones...they are exactly the same!
  18. I just wanted to give an update to my European Youth Choir Festival experience! As said before, Saturday was a very full day. We did two concerts in the city on these temporary stages. It was amazing to see the amount of people roaming the streets and listening to the many choirs preform. After that we had lunch, which ended with pretty much everyone in my choir laying on the ground, completely exhausted. Of course, after that we still had more singing and more listening and more walking...the day ended with a wonderful concert which we did not participate in (thankfully). The first half of the concert was a series of different choirs, mostly from Switzerland, singing one or two songs. The last choir was probably my favorite, the Youth Choir at the Riga Cathedral Choir School. Not to get too into the details but their intonation was perfect. You could not tell one voice from the next. The second half of the concert was a "multimedia symphony". There was an ochestra along with a projector screen playing videos of people telling stories, singing songs, and reciting poetry about the Northern Lights. In between videos the ochestra would play, and the choirs who sang in the first half sang in the second half too. Let me tell you, a total of 220 voice harmonizing all around you is bone-chilling to listen to. It was beautiful. That`s all I got to see! Our choir was more of a supporting choir rather than a festival choir, so we were not invited to the final concert on Sunday. But I had a fantastic time, and I cannot wait for next year for the SKJF (yet another Swiss Choir Festival), which I will also be taking part in. I hope you all will be ready for more updates, I have fun talking about choir stuff.
  19. I am a sucker for good food! I could go on and on...I once had a similar style meal on the Izu Peninsula...okay, I admit, I might be INCREDIBLY jealous of Mika. Japan is calling me!
  20. I believe so, though I am a bit uncertain about how I am going to go about it. I guess it all comes down to the details, what time the concert will take place and such. Even then I`m afraid my preformance will end up being quite unprofessional. Also, I hate to admit it but I am a bit shy...but I would like to participate if I can!
  21. I am a fan of tsukimi udon, the one with a raw egg. A bit strange for sure but i have acquired a taste for it!
  22. He so photogenic! I really cannot wait to visit Japan, I will be going in the fall but that seems so far away...
  23. Welcome Udon! I`m Leo from Switzerland. Have fun around here and have fun at the concert! I love udon so I support your online name choice. I am so excited for you (and a little bit jealous) to go to that concert! I would love to hear how it goes!
