Mika makes Amy a kosher offer

Published: Today

MIKA has revealed that he wants to collaborate with AMY WINEHOUSE on a Jewish album.

Beirut-born Mika’s mother is Lebanese, and having learned that Amy was planning an album of Christmas and Hanukkah songs, he is keen to get involved to “make a statement”.

The flamboyant singer revealed: “I heard Amy will be recording an album of Jewish music once she gets well and I’d like to make a contribution to it.

“I really like her music. Think about this - me, a part-Lebanese artist working on a Jewish album. I think that’s a nice statement.

“I’d like to make a statement some day.”

Israel and Lebanon have had years of violent conflict.

I’m not sure Mika singing about Big Girls or Lollipops is going to help matters, but I like his sentiment.

The Sun revealed last week that Wino was pushed into rehab by tough words from Universal boss LUCIAN GRAINGE. Now Grainge has revealed: “I wanted to do it six months ago but we had to get agreement on a strategy from the family and psychiatrists.”

He also has a “plan B” if Amy blows this chance.

Finally, some tough talking.

Mika keen to team up with Amy Winehouse on Jewish album

Singer Mika has revealed that he would like to team up with Amy Winehouse on a Jewish album.

Mika is a Beirut-born and London-based singer-songwriter, whose mother is Lebanese.

Upon learning that Amy was planning an album of Christmas and Hanukkah songs, he has been eager to get involved, to "make a statement".

"I heard Amy will be recording an album of Jewish music once she gets well and I'd like to make a contribution to it," The Sun quoted Mika, as saying.

Hmmmm....should we believe all things the Sun writes?

Perhaps we get someone to get confirmation from Mika at the New York gig. OR...someone can ask Andy (since he's normally much more accessible to Mika fans) if the report could possiblybe true.

Amy doing jewish songs (and Mika maybe helping her)? Why does Amy want to do jewish songs?

Anyway, if this happens, it will be very interesting to see what comes out of it :)

Because she's Jewish.

I like Amy's voice - and something with both of them on it

sounds interesting - but as Suzy says "The Sun" is not the

most reliable of newspapers!! :naughty:

Let's hope The Sun is right at least this time... :biggrin2:

I think it`s not so much about Catholics and Jews as about Arabs and Jews.

That's true.:wink2:

For the longest time, my friend and I thought most of the people from Lebanon were Catholic, because all the Lebanese people we knew were Catholic. Then we looked it up and it said something about the main religion being Islam.

:toot:My bullsh*t detector is going off again.

This sounds even more ridiculous than Mika telling everyone that his next album is going to be "brilliant".

Maybe he wants to collaborate with Wino, but claiming he's making a statement by working on a Jewish album because he's Lebanese? That is just way too simplistic, political and downright dumb to come out of Mika's mouth. Sounds like total rubbish.

Yes, I think the majority of Lebanonians are moslim. Wiki says something like 60% are moslim, 40% are christians.

I agree about the sun being unreliable when it comes to information, but in any case I would love it.

Wino or not, Amy is a great singer and I'd love to hear what they come up with together!!:wub2:

Let's just hope that she sorts herself out so that it can become a reality, I think that she's in a very delicate state right now:boxed:
