The most scariest thing ive experienced in my LIFE !! I hid under the covers hoping i wouldnt need a priest and be exorcised !! :naughty: ... But no seriously , ive never been so terrified and being woke up like that was a huge shock!! , it measured 5.4 on the richter scale , and the noise was like an underground train with things falling off my TV!

It was only ten seconds long but felt like 10 minutes ! all the neighbours were out clarifying it was an earthquake and not an explosion!

Lincolnshire seemed to get it worst i hope everyone from the MFC is ok , and are not injured or have too much damage xxx

It is such a shock when an earthquake hits. Lots of MFCers live in earthquake zones around the world, so we get used to them coming every now and then, and our houses and buildings are built with the frequent quakes in mind.

NOT like London and the rest of the UK which hardly ever has to even think of them.

I hope nobody as hurt by things falling onto their bed while they were sleeping. (One reason we have nothing hanging on the wall above our beds)

I know , i actually said to my grandad this morning , you forget to think about other countries who have them much stronger than 5.4 , it must be TERRIFYING ... like i say i was extremely shook up and it was only 10 seconds long ! felt much longer ! i dont think there has been many injuries but lots of building damage and a man with a broken pelvis from a chimney falling on him x

apparantly it was the biggest earthquake in england for 25 years , you forget to think how lucky we are really that it was just once and rare x

my 5 year old son was much braver than me , he just thought the dog had jumped on his bed :naughty:

Hands down one of the scariest moments of my life.

Apparently its 5 on the scale!! Thats huge for England.

We got it bad here in humberside - a picture frame fell off the wall downstairs and smashed. It was awful! There was a huge noise too - like a rumbly wooshy sound and everything was proper shaking :tears: :tears:

:emot-sad: Its the worst one we've had in 25 years - apparently people were feeling it in Wales and London!

(goes and studies earthquakes for Geography exam.....)

I know, i kind of feel like Britain is making a big deal of nothing, because some places in the world cope with big earthquakes in their everyday life. Dont some schools even have Earthquake Drills? Similar to our fire drills, but where they get under a table or something?

But i have to say, because ive never experienced an earthquake before - it was scary. Very scary.

Sheesh. I know. I have to go out to meet a careers advisor in an hour - i'm wondering what im going to see.

golly, i've never experienced a real earthquake before! it was freaky. I was in bed and I thought my mum was like jumping around upstairs :roftl: so I was thinking stop jumping the house is gonna break! Then it calmed down a tiny bit and I thought I was imagining it cos I was so tired. I had considered the thought of it being an earthquake, but that was a at the bottom of my list :roftl:

Yes! That's exactly what the noise was like!

A picture frame fell off downstairs, and loads of my folders fell off my shelves but that was about it to be honest. Wow.

I really had no idea what it was - i was going to get out of bed and see what it was, but i couldnt be bothered! A boeing 757 could have landed in the garden for all i knew, i just wanted to go back to sleep!

It lasted about 10 seconds if that.

WOW!! I hope everyone's ok and No severe injurys!! :huglove:

I can't believe that people are feeling it in London and Wales - like 125 + miles from the epicentre.

Was it quite strong there???

It was up here. I never want to go through that again!!!
