Not that Mika needs much help... In just over a year, he's gone from complete unknown to securing a No1 debut single and album, shifting more than five million records across the globe and selling out massive venues such as this the length and breadth of the country. Something of a oneman Scissor Sister, his falsetto pipes and unashamed love of the theatrical and kitsch can divide opinion. But even those who can't stomach his particular brand of camp pop would be hard-pressed to fault his live show. Flanked by a four-piece band, featuring an amazing female drummer, Mika was a whirlwind showman. "What a crazy year we've had," he exclaimed at one point, before a veiled dig at Simon Cowell, who said he'd never amount to anything when he was trying to get a record deal. For once, it seems Mr Nasty was totally wrong. Live, Mika really does have the X Factor. Wendi Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 T4P Greta - I think thats a good review for a change!! Go Mika
Christine Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Her X Factor comment kinda falls apart since Mika wasn't talking about Simon Cowell. Glad someone is admitting that it's difficult to fault his live show regardless of what you think of his music in general.
Marilyn Mastin Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Fantastic! Simon's been kicking his shins for over a year now. I'd like to know why anyone even takes that idiot serieously anymore! Wonderful revies T4P.
Queenie Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Don´t understand the simon cowell thing because he wasn´t referring to him. A way to sell papers, i´m afraid! Thanks for posting, gre!
Louiza Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Thanks for posting Greta! I don't think he said anything about Simon Cowell that night but the article is pretty positive.
