Berlin on February 7, 2007:

One thing I really enjoyed in February, my month of joining MFC, was the myspace message from MIKA when the album went to No. 1.

Copied and saved from that time (about Feb 12, 2007...)

Hi and thank you from MIKA (in San Fran)

Body: I just wanted to send out a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me on here over the past few months. I know exactly where the bulk of support I've been getting has come from. I have just received a text message telling me that the album has made number one in the UK. I am sitting here in my hotel room in San Francisco, its 3:00 am, I'm totally jet-lagged and everyone is sound asleep. Funny how things pan out. So I sit quietly elated, gorging on the junk food in the mini bar.

What a great idea--this walk down memory lane! Especially now when we are all so Mika-deprived-- perfect timing to celebrate when it all started. Koko was one of the first videos to push me over the edge in August 2007. :wub2:

It is interesting to see some of the names on the postings. Some are still posting, but a lot of the names I do not recognize. I wonder if they are still fans.

Oh yes, Blue Sky -- I remember that so well! I pretended he was talking

to me, even though I had only discovered him in January, and I'm

sure he meant the support he'd been getting from friends and family

prior to that... but still... :wub2:

And finally, a personal memory from the first weekend in March -- we

were driving to NYC and listening to Sirius satellite radio, on which

they were running an interview with Mika and playing Grace Kelly and

other tracks from the album. It was so early in my discovery of Mika

that my husband actually didn't mind listening too... but by a few

weeks later... :naughty: I've tried to find an archive of that interview

online, but so far, no luck...
