Mrs Billy Brown! Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 i know you all have mikas album!! his first one.. now i'm a little bit confused!! at the end of some of his songs.. like relax, or any other world.. is there a woman talking at the end?? and if there is.. then what is the meaning of that on his album?? they also played it at the concert at the end of any other world.. i was slightly confused.. is it him??? what do you guys think??? x:blink:
xBillyBrownx Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 i think there have been threads about this before.. basically i think it's a lebanese family friend who's lost one of her eyes during the war i think? and who's telling her story. i'm not too sure tho.
Niki27 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 The woman talking is Rafa and is indeed a friend of Mika's family. She lost an eye during the war in Lebanon. You can see her in the GK video. Mika said he liked the idea of including interviews like this, bits of real life, on his album and, if I aint mistaking, he said he planned to do the same on the next one.
Mrs Billy Brown! Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 oohhh i dunno.. i'm still confused because it just sprung out of nowhere! why would it just randomly be on the end though?? its kind of hard to understand aswell.. i actually thought it was him speaking because of his different octaves! :S
dcdeb Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 oohhh i dunno.. i'm still confused because it just sprung out of nowhere! why would it just randomly be on the end though?? its kind of hard to understand aswell.. i actually thought it was him speaking because of his different octaves! :S Raffa actually speaks at both the beginning and end of Any Other World on the album -- as others have said, she's telling the story of how her beloved left her for another woman, and then she lost her eye during the war in Lebanon. If you do a search on Any Other World using the search function in the brown navigation bar ^^^^ up there, you should find the actual text of what she says. And since you're new, I'll point you to our Mika and MFC FAQ to answer almost any question you might have, Mika-related at least. Click on the link in my sig below! dcdeb
