chickadee Posted May 13, 2008 Share Posted May 13, 2008 Yes, it would help if all the lyrics actually made sense:shocked: I remember when I first discovered Mika I had nary a clue what half the words in Grace Kelly were and I was so glad when I found an interview on youtube where he was explaining part of the song to the interviewer and actually spoke the words and a light bulb went on over my head and I went "Aha! So that's what he's singing!" I think it was the bit "I tried to be like Grace Kelly, but all her looks were too sad, so I tried a little Freddie, I've gone identity mad". I've gotten so used to what they really are that I don't remember what I thought they were, but I just had huge trouble understanding them. And English is my first language...only language actually! In SITM, in the chorus I thought he said "Won't try to tame me" not "Won't try to change me". And I still don't get OMS. Fork out my daylight just makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I feel like whoever the source is, was just messing with all your heads! In Love Today I used to think he said "Little tot, likes to tease for fun." And I couldn't understand the chorus at all! I still don't know what half the words in HMDYLM are. In Ring Ring I thought he was singing "I would sit there by the fence" and I also thought he was singing "It's what I wanted, until you lost it".
