I would never have thought a thread about sir Cliff would appear on MFC He was the only popstar I really fancied when I was younger (in my teens, so unfortunately about 25 years ago ). My classmates detested him, except for one girl. I was a member of the fanclub for a short while, and I've seen him perform four times. He's got a beautiful voice live. I still have my little scrapbook with pics and lyrics, and a huge poster. Well, that's no longer on my wall of course, but I still have it. I love the old songs, and I still listen to the "Now you see me now you don't" album every now and then. I love some of his music.... She loves Elvis as well obviously... I can still quite happily listen to alot of his songs.... He's an institution.... He was a pioneer and I think it's just a matter of time till he gets in the place he should be, side by side with Elvis or Gene Vincent for instance. The Beatles were influenced by him in many ways (it was a two way thing), and Brian May always points him as one of his all time favourites. Just to name a couple of musicians...
