HollyD
At least 1,836 people lost their lives in Hurricane Katrina and in the subsequent floods, making it the deadliest U.S. hurricane since the 1928 Okeechobee Hurricane. The storm is estimated to have been responsible for $81.2 billion (2005 U.S. dollars) in damage, making it the costliest natural disaster in U.S. history. HollyD
eeekkkkkkkkk  I suppose it becomes part of that hot heat that you will get storms ! So how many do you get a year? DEPENDS!!!! Every year is different. Some years there are only a handfull and not all make landfall.... but due to Global Warming... it has been pretty darn freaky lately! Like the 2005 season we had back to back to back Land falling Hurricanes Jean, Ivan and worst of all Katrina.... I cannot even IMAGINE what it would have been like if Katrina would have hit Florida! I feel SO bad for those poor people in Louisiana and MIssissippi... if that Catagory 5 Hurricane would have hit Florida directly I do beleive the catastrophic damage would have been even more severe......
