lindemfc
In 1605 I tell ye a tale 1605 a man called Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the houses of Parliment with gun powder , he failed . We in the UK "celebrate" this by having bon fires (a huge pile of burning wood) and fireworks you're not really a good teacher:mf_rosetinted: who is Guy Fawkes? why did I want to blow up the houses of parliment? why did he failed? [it's not that hard...I think] why do you crazy UK people celebrate this?

sienna
I don't like wikipedia, too many letters and I don't understand the words. This is what I learned from children’s books when I was little: Guy Fawkes was the leader of a Catholic conspiracy who was planning to blow up the parliament in London, he got caught though and to celebrate this victory against the conspiracy every year the 5 of November people light a fire and on top of it they place a scarecrow representing this guy! I have no idea if it’s correct or not but that is what you get from reading English children’s books!
