Jazzy
Oh noes!!! Will the be no convincing her? At all? You're a grown up, you're allowed!
CazGirl
None, at least not right now anyway. Told me I shouldn't get "all obsessive over him" I need my OWN card so I can book tickets so I don't need her permission and then it will all be done and there'll be nothing she can do about it lol
Jazzy
Get down the bank and sort it! I got my own card when I was about 15 I think, so I could just do what I wanted (more or less). And it's not obsessive, it's just FUN.

And it's not obsessive, it's just FUN. oh there's no point arguing with her, I just let her get on with it. i could have got my own card when i turned 18 i think but i didn't trust myself with it. although it's my own money i'd be using, i didn't wanna abuse it and use it whenever there was a given moment. i thought if i had to go get money out of the cashpoint then it might make me think twice about my purchase and whether i really need it or not. ive tried to upgrade my cash card since but they keep telling me i need to get a credit score they told me to come back in 3 months which is precisely what I did, and had some money being transferred into a different account every month via internet and then they tell me it's not enough and that I need to go back in 6 months!! I mean WTF?

I mean WTF? Nah you don't need a credit score for a debit card - only for credit cards because they're like mini loans. Also if you're concerned about spending too much money you could have a savings account with most of your money in and then just keep a reasonable amount in your current account. That's what I do, and just use internet banking when I need to change it over.

Jazzy
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? Nationwide are going DOWN!!!! Debit cards only issue you with money you actually have, so your personal finances have NOTHING to do with it. If they're still being idiotic then stroll into HSBC, open a current account and then a few days later you'll get yourself a nice Visa debit in the post. Jazzy
I'm interested ... I've not booked anywhere yet .... where is it ... is it a travelodge Yeah, travelodges are my favourite places right now. I can't remember which branch it is but it's the one nearest the venue, cos I just searched the postcode. I got a family room and atm it's just me so you'll be most welcome, and anyone else who needs a bed for the night.
