You should know by now that the welfare of the MFC and its members are very important to me. I would never do anything to hurt any member, or to harm the reputation of the MFC. So I wanted to talk to you about whatever has been going on in the Colorful Bunnies thread. I'm not sure what you may have been told, or what might have been suggested to you, but I want you to know that Mika does not post in this thread, or on the MFC at all. Anyone pretending to be Mika on the MFC is an impostor. Mika and his management team, both in the US and in the UK, have met and know many of us on the Mod/Admin Team. We get emails and phone calls from the management team frequently. I think if Mika were posting on this forum we would know about it by now. Along with that, the administrators here can see information that the general MFC members can't. We can, for example, see what's called the IP Address of every member using the forum. The IP Address can tell you the region or country from which a computer is connecting to the Internet. From that we can tell, for example, if someone is posting from the US when they say they are posting from the UK. Some people posting in the Colorful Bunnies thread have been saying they are posting from London, but their IP Address indicates that they are posting from the US. This has made us a little concerned. Their stories may be 100 percent true, I don't know for sure. That's what I'm trying to find out. So because the IP Address issue was confusing, I wrote to someone yesterday asking him if he could explain why it appeared he was posting from the US, if he was in the UK. I didn't threaten or ban anyone. I just asked a question. He has not replied with an explanation. Today, Marian called the admins here stupid. I assume she means me, just because I dared to ask someone a question -- in an attempt to make sure that all of you are not being taken advantage of by people pretending to be something or someone they are not. I don't think that's being stupid -- I think that's being smart, and careful. I hope that you are as careful in your dealings with people on the internet. It is very easy for people to pretend to be something other than what they are. I hope that you don't give out too much of your personal information, as I don't want anyone to take advantage of any of you. I worry about you, and about the reputation of the MFC. If you have any questions about this, please contact me or anyone else on the mod/admin team. We're all aware of this situation and are all working to keep the MFC a safe and fun place for everyone.
