Pre-gig music

Recommended Posts

I've been to two gigs of this tour, and found one of the songs played before the gig very enjoyable. In London it kept playing on repeat, but not in Oslo though. It sounded like it was Mika singing (quite logical since he kept playing it over and over).

Does anyone know what song I am talking about? It wasn't 'Kick Ass'. I tried looking through iTunes to see if it could be a sidetrack to one of his singles, but it didn't make me any wiser. I really loved it, so I'm hoping that there is a chance of buying it somewhere.....

Please give us a few clues, like some of the words. I've noticed that he uses quite a bit of Vampire Weekend, but they don't sound like him.

If I could remember the lyrics I would write them down, but unfortunately I don't remember the lyrics. At the Hammersmith gig 28th February I think it was the only song playing in the background before he entered the stage, but in Oslo he only played it one time, just right before he entered the stage.

I am so sorry that I am this bad explaining songs :aah:

But if someone speaks with during this tour, maybe they could ask him? This is going to annoy me for ages....

I remember people mentioning that they played the same song over and over at one of the gigs (I'm assuming Hammersmith then). Maybe you could ask in the gig thread?

The only ones I remember are; one that was a Disney song. I think it was Under The Sea, and also, one that goes "Off off off with your head." He played the second one in Manchester and London.

yeah he has certain songs on a loop as Paloma Faith was played a couple of times at Hammersmith before MIKA came on...there wasn't anything that sounded like M to me tbh.

You don't mean The Temper Tramp-Sweet Disposition do you? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhsirT9bIi0

xx

Maybe it wasn't Mika, since I have a little handicap in the hearing department (can't really hear the highest notes...) I might have mistaken it to be Mika... But it wasn't that song either. It was a bit cheerier, a bit more upbeat.... Thanks though :thumb_yello:

Most of the songs have been played over and over again on his tour. I'm still trying to figure out what half of them are so I can put them on my iPod :aah:

I just found the song :thumb_yello:

As I am listening to it I can't understand why I thought it was Mika, cos it doesn't really sound anything like him at all... I guess I just thought so because he kept playing it on repeat, but it was actually Vampire Weekend with White Sky :biggrin2:

Well when you do, can you make a list here? I'd love to have them too, in fact I have to confess that I have forgotten the two that you already found out for me and it's driving me mad.

The only ones I remember are:

Amazing - George Michael

I gotta feeling - BEP

I'm pretty sure they also used "Just a girl" from No doubt.

See, if we all remember a song I'm sure we'll get there in the end :teehee:

Oh, and I also remember "Faith- George Michael", but I only heard this at one gig

One of the songs he constantly played was one by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, which drove me mad, because I'd heard it before on the tv on an advert, but didn't know who was singing it!:naughty:

yeah, i think it was different in the rest of europe vs. the uk. or at least from the german gigs on, don't know about scandinavia...

Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 :teehee:

Back in 07...

that was the intro song though, like the french song on this tour / zarathustra on the arena gigs. :bleh:

the ones i remember from the last tours are bare necessities (jungle book) on the US tour, and "a new soul" by yael naim, but don't remember at which gigs.

from this tour i don't remember any others than the ones that have been mentioned here already.

Had to turn on my computer again since I remembered another 3 songs:

Paolo Nutini - 10/10

Cheryl Cole - Fight for this love

Basement Jaxx - Where's your head at

Oh, and am I imagining things or was "Sweet dreams" also on this playlist?

And I know there also was a cover of "Crazy in love" by some rock band...Don't know who they are though...Anyone? ;)

Now I can sleep in peace. :aah:

Why is it that Paolo Nutini's voice makes my head explode :aah: It sounds like he cannot breath and it makes me so worried about him. But I kind of love all these songs :teehee: They make to wait for the beginning of Relax. No breathing difficulties there :wub2:

Thanks so much for the links and names!! I couldn't recognize Paloma Faith, though everyone is always talking about her!
