it depends by the songs (Staring at the sun or J'ai pas envie? Origin of love or Overrated?)  and in other interviews he says quite opposite things  :naughty:  maybe it depends on his current mood too  :mf_rosetinted:

Well, he's a very complicated man, this is sure  :naughty: , and real love isn't always, as we say "tutta rose e fiori" (it is not all a bed of roses). And I don't think it's always easy for him to talk about intimate things with all those who interview him. In any case in this interview explains very well what are for him the love and the (his) couple :) :

yes, I saw that one! :) Really really complicated man, but as long as he's happy with what he does and people he has in his life, it's good   ;)

New interview!! http://www.onstageweb.com/interviste/mondo-di-mika-spiegato-da-lui/

Quanto è autobiografica All She WantsMolto: parla di mia madre. Io e lei abbiamo parlato tanto e ci siamo confrontati.

Come è nata una canzone come Good Guys?

Hai scritto Last Party pensando a Freddie Mercury.

È fondamentale avere bene in testa come cominciare e come finire uno show. Poi in mezzo bisogna sentirsi liberi.

Non so perché Israele partecipi all’Eurofestival e il Libano no. Non va mica bene…

Hai molto frequentato Dario Fo negli ultimi anni.

Here's a new interview from IlMessaggero where it says that there will be a duet with Fedez, a new song with Battiato and the show in Como will be broadcasted before Christmas on Sky!

post-18139-0-18107500-1443439539.jpg

Mika, stronger than TV

ThirdItalian year for Mika, dandy Lebanese, Syrian, American raised in France, then in London and now a regular guest here too thanks to X Factor that, from unusual subject, launched from a ditty apt and easy communication such as Grace Kelly (who has now yielded comparisons to freddie mercury for the vocal range and for the theatrical taste), he turned it into a call that fills stadiums.

Prudent strategy (he did the same in France sitting in the studio of The Voice) but above all the power of talent, that from the factory of new characters, they have proven to be shortcuts to quickly expand the fame (as his case) or retrieve (as will happen with skins).

In short, with his air of cute elf, a musical style that follows well-tested models pop, some originality managed with proper dose of cunning, Mika is now a postar here too, and sooner or later he will easily do it without the judge's chair of X Factor, where, however, he will be busy until the end of the year.

For now, though, he says: "I know that the presence on television for a long time can overshadow the rest of the work as an artist. But today I am able to withstand the pressure of television and I can combine the two realities."

Thirty-two years, gay icon, ten million records sold, hyperactive artist, waiting to depart with the Italian television commitments. Mika confronts the audience with three concerts in the arenas with no place in Heaven album released in early summer (at the top on iTunes Italia and Top 10 in 17 countries of the world).

A particularly favorable opportunity, as it will be accompanied by the catwalk of X Factor. Mika debuted yesterday in Milan, tomorrow will be at the Palalottomatica and Wednesday in Florence

"No led, no big screen, no projection. I don't like the shows like Las Vegas, I wanted a show made of simple things, born in 4 days in my kitchen and a stage set with references to Italian Futurism. But actually the show cost too much." He is pleased with it, determined to escape the prevailing rules of staging pop, with a production supervised everything from him, with the participation of the brother (architect) and an Italian company, the Oca Giuliva which realizes wagons for the street theater, as well with a design studio in Antwerp.

As for music, he focuses on a schedule that from "all she wants" goes to "talk about you", to "Good Guys", to "L'amour fait ce qu'il veut". But his schedule is full of other deadlines. On October 24, he will perform with the symphony orchestra in Como, the Affinis Consort, and the same repertoire, made of new and old pieces, is from a live album made with the Montreal Symphony orchestra: "it is the project that I'm most proud of.", he said. adding that the choice of a small theater, in Como, is functional to the filming (sky will broadcasted it before Christmas). Again, it is ready a duet with his partner Fedez entitled Beatiful Disaster, and he has launched a collaboration with Franco Battiato. "I will sing with him in English in a piece that will be inserted in the republication of No Place in Heaven to be released on November 13th. It's a great pleasure!"

I only know Franco Battiato from long ago, he was participating in the Eurovision Songcontest, 'I treni di tozeur'. Don't have the slightest idea what the lyrics are about, but I love that song!

I like Battiato a lot, and I'm really happy to read that he is the Italian singer Mika was mentioning when speaking of a new duet, but his lyrics are quite "mysterious" to say the least. It's not your perception and it has nothing to do with language, I reckon he does in on purpose :teehee: .

On the other side, he is a very educated man and a high class musician and I'm relieved that Mika is going to sing with him (and not with other well known Italian singers which I honestly don't like :whew:).

The new version of No Place In Heaven will be released on 13th November, the Mika's album originally published last June. The new version of the album will contain a second CD with an extract from symphonic's concerts in Montreal of last February - which it will also be the model of the unique concert on October 24th at the Teatro Sociale in Como, again directed by Simon Leclerc, and it will become a show for Sky in late November.

But above all, the second CD will contain five songs and - as revealed Mika after the meeting with the press, before the concert this evening in Milan, which we will talk tou you later - there will be 2 duets with Italian artists. One, "Beautiful Disaster" will be with Fedez (and there will be even the version sung by Mika only) and the other will be a duet with Battiato in English, the title of which has not been revealed, and that will also be published by the Sicilian artist: "his English is better than when I sing in Italian," said Mika kidding. The other two pieces are a reworking of electropop "Hurts" (from the last album) and "Feels like love".

Hope that this new album will be avalaible outside Italy because I'm very interested by his featuring with Fedez, even if I dislike rap, and the new version of Hurts which is my favorite song.

I hope that his fans who tomorrow will go to Florence have organized something beautiful and very visible, to not forget what happened this summer, not only for him. Unfortunately almost every day there are news about facts of homophobia and bullying, and rights for gay and LGBT people are still far away in Italy. It's very sad.

Well to be honest, I'm getting really fed up with it. I did think that the album with the orchestra would be a separate album that would be available in the UK around Christmas time. But I'm sick of everything he does being in Italy or France. Apparently according to an article above, his new concert will be featured on Sky, but no one needs to point out to me that it won't be on Sky in the UK.

There is only one concert in the UK too. Mika hasn't announced any others, or any concrete news of any project.

He mentioned some time ago, about a radio show. I felt really excited, but we've heard nothing since about it. There is nothing to bring Mika back into the minds of the UK. It's really disappointing and sad. I'll stick around to see what happens with the UK gig and whether there will be some publicity surrounding it, in the UK, but I am getting really fed up and find it hard to generate the enthusiasm I used to have, for an artist who's never doing anything in my country.

I just had to get that off my chest.

I was SO happy to read that the Como show shall  be broadcasted on Sky - because  I suppose it  will be fantastic!  :) But like you, I expected the OSM live alb. to be released on it's own - and not as a disc no. 2 - added to a "new NPIH"  alb."  I don't feel very enthusiastic about that - but I'll buy it anyway, just because I've always wanted these fab. concerts in Montreal to be released as a CD... :fisch:

Where are you getting that the Montreal concerts won't be a separate release?

According to the google translation of that article above the new NPIH will "contain a second CD with an extract from symphony Montreal last February" but I took that to mean just one song because it also says "the second CD will contain five songs" (the 2 duets, the new version of Hurts, Feels Like Love, and one more)

Hmmm, Am I missing something?

In any case the pix on twitter suggest 2 different artworks. The one he posted about the symphony cd looks different from his header pic, which i suppose is for the re-release of npih. :dunno:

Btw i dreamt last night that he'd promote the re-release also in germany. :naughty: guess it stays just a dream - but i still have his words in my mind that he told me in barcelona - "it will all come back", meaning his success in germany (and other countries). At least it's his wish as well, i trust him that he does care about it. But i accept that first and foremost he has a job that has to earn him a living - and for now, the countries where this works best are italy and france. He can't do the casting shows forever tho. So who knows what the situation will be like in a few years.

I was in Milan and in Florence at the Mika's concerts and I loved them! Mika was incredible and the scenery too! And now? London! Can't wait! :thumb_yello::wub:

I'm hoping for more UK gigs. Outside of London. Preferably Manchester.

Me too!  Preferably Glasgow, but I hope he goes to Manchester soon. :) Personally, I can't see Mika doing a UK tour any time soon, but even just a few more gigs would be appreciated.

However, I'm glad the European tour is going well and that everyone is having fun! :D

Just a couple of UK dates would let us know he still wants to know us in the UK.I get so fed up with everything he does, being in another country. Even if he did an advert here, like the one he's just done abroad, it would help him to be known again here.

I am happy the tour is going well, but I really can't see myself sticking around here if there is nothing else in the UK, apart from the London gig which I can't attend because the trains are a nightmare at the weekend and the buses take too long.

So I hope for a gig I can get to in the UK. and for Mika to do some project here, to raise his profile again.

I would like more UK gigs too, because I can't attend the London gig either due to college. :( But maybe if the London gig is a success, Mika will be reminded of how much he is loved in Britain and he may be encouraged to do more gigs.  It's strange that he's only going to London this year, as I know he has been to Manchester and Glasgow before.
