Kurakaakao
I have thought like a second about his money... I didn't expect that there was so much of it. But really good for him! Go Mika go!
Christine
This was on NZ entertainment as well.. I was just being nosy, and was quite suprised to see Meeks on there.. Wow I don't think I've ever seen Mika quite so happy as he is here surrounded by 20 pound notes.
laura*
I have thought like a second about his money... I didn't expect that there was so much of it. But really good for him! Go Mika go! Exactly, I think he really deserves what he gets from his job. He works hard, he gives a lot to his fans, he is a good guy and he shares what he earns with his family. Besides, he hasn't changed his lifestyle that much and he is involved in many charity projects. So well done, Mika!
Christine
Besides, he hasn't changed his lifestyle that much and he is involved in many charity projects. So well done, Mika! He hasn't changed his lifestyle that much because he came from money to start with. I agree though, he deserves this level of success. They all work hard and I have to say if I came from such a privileged background I probably would have been a lazy brat. Surely his mum could be enjoying a comfortable retirement by now but she's still working hands on and seems to have instilled the same work ethic in her children. laura*
He hasn't changed his lifestyle that much because he came from money to start with. Well, I think he has earned quite a lot on his own, though. He finished paying his parents' mortgage after all. And while other pop stars are wasting their life on drugs, wrong relationships and mad shopping, he is still more or less his old self. He is always there for his family and he has recently shown what a loving brother he is. I don't think many other people would have made the same choices in life. Do you mean that you don't think he is a good guy, especially if compared to lots of his "colleagues"? I have never used the word saint, but he has always been a good and fairly balanced person in his life in my opinion. Certainly above average within the music business. You don't know how lots of his colleagues live or spend their money. Or perhaps you think they are all like Amy Winehouse? What is the average in the music business? I think that what we think we "know" about Mika is what he wants us to know, that is to say, what he shows us in his shows, or on Mikasounds... And that is all "sweet and clean". I mean hey, the guy is loaded, comes from a loaded family, he is talented, he is young and hot... There are certainly a lot about him we don't know (and that's ok with me). but I mean, it is not because he does not use a certain rock and roll private life to promote himself that he doesn't live pretty wildly... or not... Again, who knows ??

Or perhaps you think they are all like Amy Winehouse? What is the average in the music business? Compared to some of the antics you hear of with some artists, he's pretty tame. Maybe in private, he could be a right sod, but from what we get to see, he's always an alright bloke, so we can't say one way or the other, it's all just speculation. No ones saying he's a saint, but he's not that bad either.

In my opinion most people would or do do this and are OK people. Even those in the music business.
Christine
Whether Mika is an exceptional pop star or not, my point was that I wouldn't expect his earnings to change him significantly because he is not a rags to riches story. He has been raised with money so I don't see any reason for him to go apesh*t and blow his income all on fast cars and drugs any more than if he'd grown up and started working in finance and earning money at an investment bank. I can easily imagine Mika earning a good living no matter what he chose to do in life. His parents invested heavily in his education and he was surely accustomed to a high standard of living and travelling around the world, etc. before this pop star malarkey. Mika talks about his pokey little flat that he's lived in since before he became famous, but I've lived in a flat in a house in South Kensington and it cost $40K per year just for the rent alone. I don't know about most people but this is not something I could have afforded to do while I was 22 years old with no job. In regards to this article, I believe they are only discussing his EARNINGS. It says nothing about his worth or what he has or hasn't been spending this money on.
