The more he works on his songs, the better they are!! Remind yourself the SITM album version and what he has done with it on tour since 2009 The same! I woke up in the morning and wasn't able to understand - why I'm so happy? Then I got it - now I will turn on my PC and watching OLO!!!! How funny is it that he nailed this obscure B-side from a four year-old single and yet acted horrified at the prospect of doing Ring Ring, which he's done live for entire tours. I wonder if he's been working with Only Lonely One and intends to unveil some new version of it on the new album. I think there is a much more obvious explanation to it. Since the whole gig has been posted on YT now, I think I can now say that he did mention a couple of songs after the start ( perhaps after he couldn't sing Ring Ring) that he only remembers the songs he wrote..... That was my favourite quote of the day - found it absolutely hilarious, so I did not even think of asking him to sing By The Time or any songs he had less to do with or the original idea is clearly not from him. The lyrics to Toy Boy or Ring Ring are a fine example of that. I just wonder why he wouldn't play Blue Eyes even though it was mentioned to him several times... What he did live is quite different from the demo, and it screams "potential". I could see him arranging it in a way that puts the song in the same general vein/flavour as by Jason Mraz and by Train, which were huge on the US charts I agree that The Only Lonely One screams "potential". However, I'd prefer it had some more original arrangement of it than a 324th version of Jason Mraz's I'm Yours which is a rip-off in itself ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7O-LDea7SHY ) (... sorry, I know I won't be popular with this, I just don't like that JM song ) The rhythm of The Only Lonely One is so strong and unique I wouldn't try to blend or obscure it with too many things on top, but instead, emphasize it and leave it as it is - just like in Lollipop, for example.
