Great thread! :thumb_yello::biggrin2:

Sometimes it's embarrassing to be an Austrian...don't know if you heard about the Opernball?

Well there's a wannabe celebrity called Richard Lugner who "invites" some "special guests" to the Opernball every year (well he pays for them :dunno:)

This year he invited Ruby (the young callgirl from Italy)...

It's just embarrassing...:aah:

Dreamy Queen, your boy is really cute :wub2:

Oh my! They mentioned the Ruby story in the news today :teehee: Just thought I'd let you know :roftl:

I have never tried Pecan pie. I'm not sure you can get in my country. I'm really curious of the pie so many people seem to have as a favourite.:wink2:

I guess pecans are pretty common in the South here. After cashews, they

are my favorite nut. :wub2:

I'll dig out my recipe and post in the Wonka's thread, since she asked

so sweetly :wink2:

Oh, that looks delicious! I have been thinking to make some tiramisu this weekend. Good recipes, anyone? I would like to try a new recipe.

Have fun in Disney World, Deb!! :thumb_yello:

Thanks! I think I have a good tiramisu recipe as well -- I've only made it

once, but it seemed pretty easy. If I can find it, I'll share... :thumb_yello:

Have a good weekend, everyone!

You are very lucky. The weather here in Norway is really bad now, with lots of ice and melted snow :boxed:

Yeah, Droopsy's idea of pie is definitely more what I would have been

thinking... although I suppose a meat pie would be OK if I was really

hungry! :naughty: And yeah, marshmallow doesn't appeal to me much,

either... Gaah, now I'm thinking about pecan pie... I haven't had it

in ages. Mmmm...

Back on the eastern coast I agree with you completely :thumb_yello:. However, just a few dozen miles to the west we had a completely freezing weekend in Glasgow :boxed:. We didn't get to walk around the town so much, but kids had a lot of fun browsing all the museums we came across.

On my way to Uni on Friday I passed a patisserie and saw the pie on the window. I was in such a hurry that I had not time to pop in and get one, but tomorrow I will! It looks so delicious! :licks_lips:

i knew it was going to be that... i just finished watching it from your post on twitter :naughty:

makes you think, doesn't it?

Oh! :roftl: But as I loved it and as I don't have all of you on Twitter... :blush-anim-cl:

Definitely, Guy. And I just decided to bring it here 'cause it makes you think about a few things that we usually talk about on MFC, especially the way we're "dealing" with people.

But it's not true that we're the only monkeys who care what others think and want to fit in. Other apes have very complex social hierarchies as well, other animals engage in superstitious behaviour, other animals defend their territories to the death, etc. I think it's our animal nature that leads to all these problems. He seems to be criticizing the human hubris of seeing ourselves as above the animals, but without making that distinction, how will people ever rise above it?
