Hmm.

This will be interesting to say the least, I don't really watch Xfactor, but no one from these shows (in the US at least) really makes it big.

Does Xfactor also have a mentoring component?

Hopefully this is a one season sort of thing, obviously this will hinder him from going on tour, although perhaps he will split his time between this and studio sessions or something.

MIKA: la prima intervista per X Factor Italia

Come vi avevamo annunciato, oggi pomeriggio abbiamo fatto una chiacchierata con il nostro primo giudice Mika, per conoscerlo meglio e farci raccontare i suoi sentimenti e aspettative sull’importante ruolo che andrà a ricoprire a partire dalle prossime settimane all’interno del nostro talent show. Vi abbiamo esortato a inviarci le vostre domande per Mika, che abbiamo molto volentieri unito alle nostre per rendere l’intervista che andrete a leggere ancora più interessante. Ecco com’è andata…

Ciao Mika, andiamo subito al sodo: cosa ti ha spinto ad accettare la proposta di diventare giudice di X Factor Italia? E perché proprio l’Italia?

Ho vissuto la scelta di partecipare a X Factor come una prova, prima di tutto quella di imparare una nuova lingua, ma soprattutto per provare a fare qualcosa di diverso, qualcosa che avrei voluto sempre fare. E poi quando mi hanno chiesto se avrei parlato italiano, ho risposto che l’avrei volentieri imparato. E credo che questo sia un elemento di sorpresa che ha reso Sky entusiasta di avermi scelto. Sarà un’avventura! E poi perché credo che l’idea del talent show sia molto italiana. Per esempio il Festival di Sanremo esiste dagli anni Cinquanta e in Italia è una manifestazione molto importante. Insomma, la mia decisione è stata presa per tutta questa serie di motivazioni.

A proposito di Italia, come sta andando l’apprendimento della nostra lingua?

Va molto bene. Ogni giorno ho due ore di lezione e ho preso un insegnante di italiano che in questi mesi verrà con me in giro per il mondo durante tutte le date del mio tour. So parlare francese e spagnolo. So che questo mi aiuterà nell’apprendimento dell’italiano, ma non voglio fare confusione con le lingue quando mi troverò davanti alle telecamere!

Proiettiamoci già nel tuo ruolo di giudice di X Factor: quali caratteristiche dovrà avere un cantante per convincerti ed essere scelto da te?

Prima di tutto deve avere qualcosa che mi riveli la sua personalità e la sua vita, ma soprattutto deve avere delle doti che nessuno abbia mai visto prima, e deve essere puro. Che è un po’ quello che è successo quando ho sentito per la prima volta cantare Chiara. Ero così sorpreso che fosse riuscita ad arrivare in finale, perché la sua voce non era affatto artificiosa, non era una di quelle voci di chi ama mettersi in mostra e avevo molto apprezzato queste sue doti. Insomma, credo siano queste le qualità più importanti: non deve essere per forza perfetto o che faccia troppe acrobazie vocali, ma deve suscitare sensazioni che non avevi mai sentito prima.

Come sai, i nostri cantanti si dovranno confrontare con hit sia del panorama italiano sia internazionale. Conosci la nostra musica? Quali sono i tuoi artisti italiani preferiti?

Sto ascoltando molta musica italiana in questi giorni. Sono cresciuto con la musica di musicisti italiani come Paolo Conte e Mina, mia madre li ascoltava spesso negli anni 70. Ultimamente sto ascoltando tantissimo la canzone di Antonio Maggio, la chiamo la Canzone poroporop-pò-po’, perché non mi ricordo il titolo, poi mi piace Tiziano Ferro, amo molto le sue canzoni.

Pensi che questa esperienza come giudice, possa cambiare il tuo modo di fare musica?

Sin dall’inizio la mia musica è sempre stata pura e per lei ho sempre corso molti rischi. Ma ciò che mi ha sempre guidato, la cosa che è sempre stata un punto fermo della mia carriera, è fare musica pura, cioè musica di cui vado fiero e per la quale sarò fiero anche negli anni a venire. Quando scrivo dei pezzi, come è successo per esempio con alcune canzoni del mio ultimo album, tipo Make you happy o Origin of love, non ho voluto pensare alle vendite, bensì a fare qualcosa di puro, di bello, qualcosa che mi rendesse artisticamente orgoglioso. Ed è questo stesso spirito a guidarmi adesso in questo inedito ruolo di giudice di X Factor.

Quale squadra ti piacerebbe capitanare a X Factor?

(Ride) Vorrei saperlo già, continuo a chiedere che squadra mi assegneranno, ma nessuno vuole dirmi niente! Comunque mi piacerebbe molto lavorare con le ragazze, ma qualunque squadra mi daranno, darò il meglio. Non è importante l’eta, credo che mi troverei meglio con le ragazze, ma la cosa che realmente mi interessa è lavorare con dei bravi cantanti, maschi o femmine che siano. Questa sarà la mia priorità.

Molti nostri lettori ci chiedono se tu e Chiara farete mai un altro duetto insieme.

A me piacerebbe tantissimo, ma in realtà dovrebbero mettersi d’accordo le nostre due etichette discografiche. Quando ci riusciranno, io e Chiara potremmo fare cose davvero incredibili insieme!

He said in June in one of the interviews Lucrezia just posted, but generally the auditions held in the summer period are followed by the staff, I think that the judges air the first three four editions episodes at the beginning of september, not before, anyway let's see...

L'artista libanese sta anche ascoltando molta musica italiana.

L’artista di origine libanese, Mika, è il primo giudice ufficiale della settima edizione di X Factor e ha concesso la prima intervista sul sito ufficiale della trasmissione. Il cantante ha confermato che sta prendendo lezioni di italiano per poter parlare la nostra lingua in trasmissione senza l’ausilio di traduttori.

Mika ha svelato come sta procedendo l’apprendimento della nostra lingua:

Mika, non si sa se per compiacimento nei nostri confronti o per reale convinzione, ha affermato che noi italiani siamo i padri del talent show, avendo inventato il Festival di Sanremo:

Credo che l’idea del talent show sia molto italiana. Per esempio il Festival di Sanremo esiste dagli anni Cinquanta e in Italia è una manifestazione molto importante.

Per farsi un’idea ancora più completa dello spettacolo di casa nostra, Mika sta anche ascoltando molta musica italiana:

L'artista libanese sta anche ascoltando molta musica italiana.

L’artista di origine libanese, Mika, è il primo giudice ufficiale della settima edizione di X Factor e ha concesso la prima intervista sul sito ufficiale della trasmissione. Il cantante ha confermato che sta prendendo lezioni di italiano per poter parlare la nostra lingua in trasmissione senza l’ausilio di traduttori.

Mika ha svelato come sta procedendo l’apprendimento della nostra lingua:

Ho vissuto la scelta di partecipare a X Factor come una prova, prima di tutto quella di imparare una nuova lingua, ma soprattutto per provare a fare qualcosa di diverso, qualcosa che avrei voluto sempre fare. E poi quando mi hanno chiesto se avrei parlato italiano, ho risposto che l’avrei volentieri imparato. E credo che questo sia un elemento di sorpresa che ha reso Sky entusiasta di avermi scelto. Sarà un’avventura! Ogni giorno ho due ore di lezione e ho preso un insegnante di italiano che in questi mesi verrà con me in giro per il mondo durante tutte le date del mio tour. So parlare francese e spagnolo. So che questo mi aiuterà nell’apprendimento dell’italiano, ma non voglio fare confusione con le lingue quando mi troverò davanti alle telecamere!

Mika, non si sa se per compiacimento nei nostri confronti o per reale convinzione, ha affermato che noi italiani siamo i padri del talent show, avendo inventato il Festival di Sanremo:

Credo che l’idea del talent show sia molto italiana. Per esempio il Festival di Sanremo esiste dagli anni Cinquanta e in Italia è una manifestazione molto importante.

Per farsi un’idea ancora più completa dello spettacolo di casa nostra, Mika sta anche ascoltando molta musica italiana:

Sono cresciuto con la musica di musicisti italiani come Paolo Conte e Mina, mia madre li ascoltava spesso negli anni 70. Ultimamente sto ascoltando tantissimo la canzone di Antonio Maggio, la chiamo la Canzone poroporop-pò-po’, perché non mi ricordo il titolo, poi mi piace Tiziano Ferro, amo molto le sue canzoni.

L’artista, che ha pubblicato lo scorso settembre il suo terzo album The Origin of Love, ha svelato quali caratteristiche debba avere il suo artista ideale:

Prima di tutto deve avere qualcosa che mi riveli la sua personalità e la sua vita, ma soprattutto deve avere delle doti che nessuno abbia mai visto prima, e deve essere puro. Che è un po’ quello che è successo quando ho sentito per la prima volta cantare Chiara. X Factor 7, Mika: ""I’m learning italian, it will be an adventure!"

The lebanese artist Mika is the first official judge of the seventh XF italian edition and released the first interview on the official site of the show.

The singer confirmed that he’s learning italian in order to speak our language live without the help of interpreters.

Mika revelaed how his italian learning is proceeding:

"I lived the decision of participating to XF as a trial, first of all the challenge of learning a new language, but above all I wanted to try something different, something I’ve always wanted to do.

Then when they asked to me if I would have spoken in italian, I said that I’d gladly learn it.

I think that this is an element of surprise that made Sky enthusiastic about choosing me. It will be an adventure!

I speak italian two hours per day and I have an italian teacher that he will tour worldwide with me.

I can speak French and Spanish. I know that this will help me with the italian learning, but I don’t want to be confused with languages when I will be in front of videocameras!

Mika, we don’t know if you said that for pleasing all of us or if you’re really convinced: you said that Italian are the founding fathers of talent shows, having invented Sanremo Festival.

I think that the idea of a talent show is a very italian one. For instance Sanremo Festival exist since the fifties, and in Italy is a very important event.

Mika is also listening a lot of italian music, so that he can have an exhaustive view of the italian music panorama:

I was grown up with italian musicians like Paolo Conte and Mina, my mother listened to them in the seventies.

Lately I’ve been listening to a song by Antonio Maggio, I call it the "Poroppopò song", because I don’t remember the title, then I like Tiziano Ferro, I like his songs very much.

The artist who published in september his third album, TOOL, revealed which characteristics an ideal artist must have:

First of all he must have something revealing his personality and his life, but above all must have qualities no one had before, and he has to be pure. This is what it happened to me when I heard Chiara singing for the first time.

I was so surprised that she had succeeded in arriving at the finale, because her voice wasnt’t fake at all, she was not at all one of those voices showing off, and I had very much appreciated those skills of her.

Really, I think that these are the most important qualities: one doesn’t have to be necessarily perfect or has to be a vocal stunt, but he has to arouse sensations you never felt before.
