Translation for anyone who can't read Italian

Rome, October 29 (TMNews) - Mika, revelation of "The X Factor" in 2013, has no problem talking about homosexuality, and does so exclusively from the cover of "Vanity Fair" on newsstands tomorrow. Because "being gay is not a crime" and equal rights is a battle of common sense said. The star of the musical talent of Sky One only Italy will launch in the coming days "Songs Book Vol 1 - The greatest hits", a best of his career. "In Italy, I feel happy, but to put down roots for me is surreal idea - he said - at some point the walls do not belong to you anymore, while the songs you write will be forever yours." Last year, Mika decided to declare themselves homosexual but has clear ideas about marriage. "If you mean the classic wedding in the church, no. But if the question is: I want to have the same rights as a married couple? Yes, one hundred percent. Want to take a commitment Yes, one hundred percent. Want to face the consequences the break that commitment? Yes, one hundred percent. I think it's fair that I should have children Yes, thousand percent. I think I'm able to give a child love and a good education, a welcoming atmosphere and free Yes, at one thousand percent. I have no doubt. And who says I'm wrong does not know what he says, is a poor fool. " Ready to have a family? "Maybe yes, maybe no. But if I project myself into the future, I see myself with a lot of children. The correct number is 4 or 5. Come from a large family and I would like to create a similar". "Actually I do not exclude to marry me, one day - he added - the point is that a commitment I've made, I'm with my partner for seven years. Why do I wait so long to come out? About insinuates that it was a marketing says bull****. And the truth is that I waited because I was not ready. I did it when I felt happy. And then, I had to fix so many things before. I had to talk about it with my family and with the family of my partner. was not a thing that just about me. " A "X factor" Mika has the strongest team, they tell the other judges. "Maybe I was assigned the young because they know that I would do less damage than Morgan. For the girls are much less dangerous than him, do not you think?" commented wryly, then sure he will win "one of the three girls in my team." REd-Lua

Thanks for posting, yes it definitely deserves a thread on its own!

on vanity fair's site we can find a longer part of the interview, new pics from a photo shoot and a video biography of Mika!

In Italia siamo ancora indietro.

Come mai ha aspettato tanto a fare coming out?

I find this photoshoot very very ... camp. Outrageously camp, in a best sense of the word !

Aubrey Beardsley meets London Dandy aka James Bond :aah:)))

When I see photos like these I recall the works by Mick Rock who photographed rock stars of the 70-s. He made most famous photos of Freddie Mercury & Queen, without hiding his gay nature, for the first time . It was brilliant and brave. And I like these photos of Mika made in a same way.

This one was one of my favorites!

It's so great to see him so open and "settled" and at ease now when he talks about being gay and being in a relationship :wub2:
