Pediatric cancer: it fights to advance research

Today in France, cancer is the leading cause of death from illness in children. If, in the treatment of adult patients, medications and care are adapted according to the different types of cancer, this is not the case for young people. And for good reason: while there are 60 different childhood cancer pathologies, only three new treatments have been developed over the past ten years. Thus, the vast majority of chemotherapy prescribed to children is in fact only adult care dosed by size and weight.

Why do children continue to die for lack of treatment?

According to Patricia Blanc, founding president of the association Imagine for Margo - Children Without Cancer, the multiplicity of juvenile cancers makes them rare diseases, in the eyes of pharmaceutical companies.

Patricia Blanc - who lost her 14-year-old daughter to a brain tumor - is calling for regulatory change and greater financial investment in scientific research. We receive it tonight on the 28 'plateau.

On television, at the cinema and on the internet, it is the testimony of Maurine, whom we strongly keep in our hearts, that will be aired : a strong call for mobilizing to help research against childhood cancer.

On Mothers Day in France ( La fête des Mères on the last Sunday in May )

imagineformargo_officiel

*  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *

Today, as every year, we celebrate the LIONNES MOMS, these extraordinary moms who fight with strength and courage against the disease alongside their child. What a force of love, what infinite tenderness, and what unfailing energy in the service of their child. A total gift of oneself
We have a particular thought for our "LIONNES MOMS of Camargue":

Magali, Marie-Bernard, Anne-Sophie, Danièle, Céline, Marie-Pierre, Kadija and for their little warriors Noah, Juliette, Pierre, Maurine, Shade, Angelina, Janotte, some of whom have become stars.

Finaly found the proper topic to post this info!!

You probably remember the photoshoot on the beach and Mika playing with the kids in Camargue a few years ago

Probably don't forget the tweet he made several times as some of them sadly passed away

This year again a squad of fans is raising founds to help the research and to be part of the run on september 30th in Paris

You can donate ,join the team or spread the info

http://www.alvarum.com/group/flyinghearts

Even small amounts make a difference and whatever the collector you choice ,every euro is given back to the association

Just notice that every adult has to reach the amount of 200 euro to be able to be part of the run ,as the student (only Cyrielle is) have to reach 100 euro

So if we want everybody at the starting line ,it's wiser to complete the collects under the goal
