No Place In Heaven: Chart thread for album and singles

Hi everyone. I just thought it was time to start a thread to track the positions of the singles and album, since the first single, TAY is released today and some places have Good Guys as the lead single. I thought we needed a thread to keep track of where the singles are, in the international charts, and when the album comes out, this thread will do for that as well.

If there is already a thread for this, mods feel free to delete this one, but I haven't seen one up to now, so I thought it might be good to start one.

Here's wishing the best of luck to Mika, his singles and his album, No Place In Heaven.

God bless you all.

Thank you Marilyn, that's a good idea. At the moment Good Guys is # 26 on iTunes Italy :thumb_yello: . Unfortunately TAY has dropped out of top 100 in France and isn't doing better in other countries.

TAY down every weeks, he's on 120th in itunes.

Radios not plays a lot, on average 2 times per day and the first national radio has never played the song (except the day when she out). and the video clip isn't still passed musical channels.

Italy is really behind Mika in the musical level, in my opinion, I think that France knows Mika just as a judge from The Voice since 2 years, nothing else. In 2012, he was really known, now, the voice, and again the voice for medias.

Moreover, the majority of french radios plays more than 8 times per day the same music, more often "commercials", that  doesn't help  :wait:

I think in france the language is an important thing. Many people like Mika the judge and they love his singing but more if he sings french cause it is the language of the country. Also some Englsih fans prefer hbis songs in english. For me it is not important cause for me both are foreign languages and good music has always the right language..... just my two cents

I don't really expect the single TAY to do well in the UK, because there has not been enough promotion. I keep hoping he'll announce that he's appearing on something on TV. Perhaps on a talk show, or just somewhere where he can sing the song. Up to now there's no sign of him appearing on anything. I know TAY is being played on Ken Bruce's show atm, as ROTW and that's great, but it needs more than that, to get the song into people's conciousness.

  • 2 weeks later...

good to hear, sadly  only web radio stations in Germany play TAY so far :(  and two official ones one time, how should it work with charts then? IT's not my fault but I feel ashamed for German media. I believe in this album and it will be no flop but I fear Germany is one in this case :sneaky2:

Just found TAY is on the A list of BBC Radio2 playlist today :wink2:

Yes, I have been very confused. I thought the song was being ignored, but it isn't actually out in the UK yet. I thought it was out when it was ROTW, but apparently, it wasn't. I'm heaving a big sigh of relief now.

Lots of people will hear it now on R2, hopefully it will start climbing the chart.

But I hope there is some opportunity for Mika to have a one-to-one interview with someone, about his album and other important stuff, like gigs and TV appearances. The Chris Evans show wasn't the place for a cosy chat about everything. But it was a fun show, and I loved hearing Emma Willis as she's my 2nd favourite presenter on UKTV (my actual favourite presenter is Rylan Clark, who actually works with Emma on the Big Brother shows, so I hope she told Rylan about meeting Mika, as I'd love for Mika to get a chance to meet Rylan, they'd get on so well)

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I wanted to pass on this info.

This is how Billboard uses Twitter to help measure and rank songs... at least, this applies to the US, I would imagine applying these same tips to Twitter in general might help worldwide. In other words, when you tweet about the album of one of its songs, be sure to use hash tags # and tag @mikasounds.  I think it all helps.

Also, since we're talking about charts, No Place in Heaven is #92 on the US iTunes Pop chart, just on presales. I'm surprised to see it there at all, so that's a good thing. Staring at the Sun is a featured "Hot Single" so that's good too.  :thumb_yello:

Is the album already out in Korea? Anyway, it's # 1 here :thumb_yello: : http://www.yes24.com/24/category/bestseller?CategoryNumber=003001002&sumgb=02&PageNumber=1

No just a preorder..... it's out next Monday.  But it's #1 not only this website but #1 on all major shops in Korea!

It's going better than TOOL... very quick and swept all chart!

This is fantastic news! I hope people take notice of the advice, regarding the hash tags. I no longer have a twitter account, but sometimes use my husband's twitter if it's something important.

It all looks very promising. Hope the UK is taking notice and that the extra wait, for us, will be worthwhile, as the album rises in other countries, especially America. I'm loving all the publicity in the US gay press, and gay people have straight friends and family members who would find out about NPIH from them, and would also love the songs, and Mika.

The album is currently #22 in the Dutch iTunes chart, this morning it was #37. Seems like it's climbing! :thumb_yello:

And I saw that on the official Dutch Charts site (http://www.dutchcharts.nl/) they're promoting No Place In Heaven as a tip!

Wonderful! This is why I started this thread. So we can all monitor the success of NPIH and it's singles.
