Translation in English , sorry the rimes are gone and for more clarity twat is con which rimes with tramp which is vagabond , hence the use of that word

There are kisses that get lost
Kisses wandering around
like grey cats
on Paris' roofs
that live their lives.

There are kisses that get lost
on their way, or feel
like twats
Tramp kisses
that  sleep under the bridges

where La  Seine flows
A bit of their sorrow
Lost kisses can not be saved

There are kisses that get lost
Kisses that dream of being stolen
Which never dared to be given

There are kisses which become
A photo, kisses by Doisneau
I'm   left empty-handed
In the gutter

Where love ends
a bit more each day
Lost kisses can not be saved any more

Where do they go
Those kisses that get lost
When you are in front of me

Where do they go
Alone in the world waiting only for you
Tell me

There are kisses that get lost
Kisses wandering around
like grey cats
on Paris' roofs
that live their lives.

There are kisses that get lost
on their way, and feel
like twats
Tramp kisses
that  sleep under the bridges

where La  Seine flows
a  bit of their sorrow
Lost kisses can not be saved any more

I've been listening to this song for 2 days in a row and I'm not tired of it yet. I find the idea of all these kisses wandering around waiting to be given and getting lost forever if they're not, utterly sad... it makes me think about all the kisses we could've given to the people we love but we didn't dare to give for whatever reason and now they won't ever come back. I don't know why but this is almost heartbreaking to me and his soft voice is almost like a tender caress that soothes the pain

One of my favourites ! I believe that is the only song in French that I "fall in love"

She is very sweet, emotionnal, and beautiful. I love the guitar at the beginning. When I heard this song, I close my eyes, I see myself in Paris, front of la Seine, at the sunset with people who love each other.

I can like all your posts now :wink2: It made me cry when I heard it at first , it's just a delicate way to talk about one way love and it really moved me intensely and it's both so true and gorgeous :wub2: But it cheers me up at the same time , because of its beauty :wub2:

I'm in love with this song too. It's definitely my favourite French song of Mika's, and it's quickly becoming one of my overall favourites as well. It's so sweet and delicate.

Am I the only one who thinks that the song 'les baisers perdus' is like it was written for Paris and it's victims?

Ofcourse it's coincidence, but when I listen to the song these days it's as if I listen to a song written for the Paris victims.

No, you're not.

It seems like Mika could feel the things before they are happening.

I noticed a lot of strange coincidences.

1. The 12th of November at Italian X Factor Mika was dressed as Batman.

2. The 13th of November was released his new album. For consolation.

3. The 13th of November Mika had a flight to Paris. Yes, exactly that day.

He should have a dinner in the one of the pub where then 15 person died.

But Mika missed the plan and took the next one.

He described in twitter -" Just landed in Paris amidst all the confusion, bombings and attacks. It's horrible "

4. Now you're telling me about the  'les baisers perdus' .

I'm listening at and... feel the same... like you...

Too much for me to be just coincidence.
