Un evento che ha visto protagonisti Giorgio Moroder e Patrizia Cavalli (vincitori della prestigiosa McKim Gold Medal) ma soprattutto la voglia di dare un contributo alla crescita degli artisti e degli accademici italiani nel panorama culturale italiano. Il Gala ha infatti contribuito alla creazione di 6 borse di studio che sono state assegnate a Silvia Armando, Andrea Bajani, Milena Belloni, Tomaso De Luca, Annalisa Metta, Giuseppe Sergi. Tra autunno 2016 ed estate 2017 l’American Academy in Rome ospiterà un artista, un musicologo, un architetto, uno scrittore, e due studiose italiane che avranno l’opportunità di lavorare in un ambiente dinamico, internazionale e indipendente. Il Gala di ieri è stato inoltre occasione per inaugurare un’altra importante collaborazione delle Italian Fellowship, con la prima edizione della borsa di studio Enel dedicata ai temi dell’architettura e del paesaggio urbano. La Fondazione Enel, l’istituzione no-profit per la ricerca del Gruppo elettrico, e l’American Academy in Rome hanno siglato, infatti, un accordo di collaborazione. Nell’ambito dell’intesa la Fondazione sostiene, con 250mila dollari, la creazione di una “borsa di studio Enel” presso l’American Academy in Rome che sarà offerta ogni anno, per i prossimi cinque anni e a cominciare dal prossimo autunno, a un architetto, urban designer o paesaggista italiano in qualsiasi fase della sua carriera.
