So I'm writing this important essay on MIKA

This is more like a help call more than anything, and let me tell you, I need whatever piece of interview you distinguished MFCers have of Mika, especially is he comments on his world view, or his lyrics.

I have found out about him tho years ago and I'm in dire need of processed data on him commenting on his art. The essay is on his expression of the conflict between imdividual freedom and social expectations/traditions- so lyrics provide me for the larger part already but I know it won't be enough, thus I turn to the elders of this fandom for their archives.

I need, and honestly I cannot express this enough, NEED the knowledge and catagorization you already have at hand.

I have searched online for more than 24 hrs total with this essay on mind, but everytime I believe I have covered it all, I find new records and pieces scattered around here, and simply cannot calculate them all. Message me if you will, please. I could give you my email for the documents or whatever content you have.

P.s.: English and pre-NPiH preferred, as much a complete display of artistry the album is too late on the timeline I can afford.

You see I'll portray him as a British person and he has become more and more of an international figure for me to pull it off properly.

Thanks in advance

Hi  :bye: and welcome to MFC enx; are you a Mika fan?

It's a pity that you don't include No Place in Heaven as the lyrics and what he says on interviews about No Place in Heaven is a lot more transparent about this...

You might want to check the encyclopedia http://www.mikafanclub.com/topic/31627-mika-encyclopedia/ , also this thread about causes he is involved for http://www.mikafanclub.com/topic/31836-mika-for-charity-newseventsfoundationscauses/ , also this thread in particular about his involment to help raise money to fight against children cancer  http://www.mikafanclub.com/topic/31844-imagine-for-margo/page-1  and this thread about his involvement for refugees http://www.mikafanclub.com/topic/32350-mika-in-lebanon-with-the-unhcr-dec-2015/ and also the thread about the concert he gave in Paris to celebrate the vote for equal rights to get married  http://www.mikafanclub.com/topic/30613-le-concert-pour-tous-place-de-la-bastille-paris-france-21-may-2013-21-05-2013/

I hope this helps you, good luck for writing your essay enx :thumb_yello:

If you have a minute you might want to open a thread to introduce yourself so other MFCers can welcome you properly :wink2:

I did an essay not so long ago on something similar and you should definitely draw upon the incident in Italy with the homophobes- this is a true depiction of the themes of individual freedom and social expectations. My best friend reminded me of the idea and it will surely earn you marks (I know since I received high marks on that one thanks to using this ;) )

Oh I definately will, as far as the lyrics go I'm not leaving Promiseland, OGYtD (or half the album really) out- but my concern is that the essay is "english culture and language" based so I'm already on a thin line with him being Lebanese and I couldn't mention where his art gets international. (with The Voice and the movie and whatnot)

So I cannot really use

this homophobic response from Italy, but what he reflecs on in his lyrics only :/

-It fits the topic as well: "individuality vs customs/social expectations" so this type of interacton actually represents the outline I'm going for- -darn these specifications-

  • 2 years later...

Hey remember this helpless fan asking desperately for help 😂😅

Well I finished the essay and would like to link it here so if someone wants to read some high school level analysis on the concept of religion in MIKA's songs, it is a thing that exists 😂😂

Also if you'd like to see the fruits of your contributions 😊 Again, thank you all very much! It's two years later but it was a hectic year and I only realised when I logged in now that I never updated you guys  So here it is now, it's a bit long and my language gets too technical sometimes but :fangurl::sweatdrop:

Hope you enjoy it!
