Video interview with new Team Mika members of the episode-2

Frédéric Longbois (The Voice)

fr.png.431c44e377a43fc659be390372cabf4a.pngFrédéric Longbois (The Voice) : «Pourquoi j’ai repris Bécassine de Chantal Goya...»

Spoiler

Pourquoi avoir décidé de participer à The Voice ?

On a bien ri.

Frédéric Longbois (The Voice): “Why I took over Becassine of Chantal Goya … »

Spoiler

VIDEO – At 54, this singer and comedian seduced Mika Saturday night on TF1 by playing the tube of the singer for children. Meet.

To seduce the coaches of The Voice , you interpreted Snipe of Chantal Goya , a song rarely revisited in this kind of telecrochet. Why this choice?
For this audition, I wanted to have a little fun, thinking that no one would fall for an old thing like me! Initially, I wanted to take a song that looks like Barbara’s repertoire. And little by little, I looked at Snipe and I rediscovered this song written and composed by Jean-Jacques Standing which is a national success. I wanted coaches and viewers to feel the same as me when I reworked the piece for hours.

Alone Mika turned around. Are you happy to join your team automatically?

Yes. I already had a coach in mind before coming. Even if the four jurors had turned around, I would have chosen him.

Why did you decide to participate in The Voice ?

I am a singing teacher in a school of musical comedy in Paris. There, I met people from the team of The Voice who had seen me in a movie. They found me crazy and after understanding that I was singing too, they offered me to come to the casting. I did not hesitate because I always liked singing contests on television. Music is my passion for 49 years! And at my age (54 years, Editor’s note), I reach a greater visibility.

“I do not play a character”
Frédéric Longbois, candidate of season 7 of The Voice

What is your background?

I started as a hairdresser and art director at Lucie Saint-Clair. I created the line and styled stars as Marlène Jobert , Mrs. Giscart-d’Estaing, Clémentine Célarié , Catherine Deneuve , Linda Evangelista etc … Besides, I played piano in cabarets in Paris. And then one day, a director spotted me and offered me the main role of her next film. That’s how I went from the dryer to the camera! But, I have never lost my hand. I dress all my friends.

Do you live music?

Yes, in part, I am a lyrical singer and I perform in the world: in China (Peking Opera), in Japan, in the United States …. I was the favorite artist of Jerome Savary for 15 years! He is my spiritual father. I am also an actor, I shoot in many TV movies ( The Little Murders of Agathe Christie , At Maupassant ), and movies ( Sagan , What the day owes to the night ). I also shot with Florent Pagny for a film of Josée Dayan with Arielle Dombasle , Milady. He played Dartagnan, I played Porthos. We had a good laugh.
I wrote 300 or 400 songs for various artists, many left bank singers. comedian Sylvie Joly also. All the music of his shows. We were very connected.
Where does this passion for music and comedy come from? I want to do this job since I was 5 years old. When my mother cut my first nails, she planted them under a yellow rose, saying that this child will sing and be an artist. His wish came true.

What are your musical influences?

They are multiple. Barbara first. Jacques Brel , Nino Ferrer , Brigitte Fontaine which is a feather. There is only rock that I do not like. Except Johnny .

What are you waiting for the show?

To make people happy. That’s all. I’m not looking for notoriety, I’m already a star in my head. At home, I live as such: I have a piano and red curtains!

Are you aware of being one of the UFOs of the season?

Yes, but I do not cultivate this image. Truly. I am myself and it is really my nature to be like that. I like to go to people, listen to them, feed them … I’m probably tiring for my friends, but I do not play a character. I’m just hyperactive. Calm, I find it only at night.

Frédéric Longbois, the UFO team Mika

Spoiler

With his whimsical recovery of “Becassine” and his masterful fall off the set, Frédéric Longbois made the show in The Voice and had the right to a declaration of love of Mika.

” If Elton John had a child with Barbara, it would be Frédéric Longbois! This is how Clémentine Célarié defines Frederic Longbois . Actor, composer, singer, this UFO took everyone by surprise during the second salvo of blind auditions in The Voice .

The 56-year-old man is undoubtedly back in the history of the show. Surrealist character, he has the audacity to take back “Becassine” of Chantal Goya. Mika wanted madness, with Frédéric Longbois, it was served. Moreover, it is the only coach to have turned for the talent still remained child. He thinks of Tino Rossi. On the set, Frédéric Longbois makes the show, dressed in a jacket in tail-of-magpie, has fun to take again the codes of the cabaret, adds melodramatic on this title which is not it nevertheless. Basically, he breaks the codes of the show and it pleases Mika. It is so pleasing that the coach will throw him a “I love you” and ask him to re-sing the title a second time. Pascal Obispo in tears of laughter, Zazie and Florent Pagny still highlight the vocal performance. If he has already marked the minds of coaches and viewers with his whimsical and daring recovery, Frédéric Longbois will also be remembered for its brilliant output … Because it is always necessary to heal his departure, the singer leaves the set. .. falling and spreading his whole body on the floor. Expected or not, one thing is sure, we will remember this fall, as much as the delivery.

Mennel (The Voice) : «J’ai beaucoup hésité entre Zazie et Mika»

Spoiler

Ça m’a complètement déstabilisée.

Pourquoi avoir choisi Mika?
Je me retrouve bien là-dedans.

Pourquoi avoir décidé de participer à The Voice ?

Ça me ressemble aujourd’hui.

Mennel (The Voice): “I hesitated a lot between Zazie and Mika “

Spoiler

VIDEO INTERVIEW – On Saturday evening, this 22-year-old student from Besançon convinced the four coaches of the telehandler by interpreting Hallelujah .

At your blind audition at The Voice where you interpreted Hallelujah the four coaches turned around. What did you feel at that moment?

This is the strongest moment of my year, I believe. Zazie turned around after three words! It completely destabilized me. Then the other three followed. I do not believe it. I had the hope that the coaches would perceive all the sensitivity and finesse that there is in this spiritual song about God, and our relationship with him. And it worked.

Why choose Mika?

I thought of him before I even happened on the set. When making my choice, I still hesitated because what Zazie said was very touching. She made me very well. But finally, I stayed on my first choice. I love the musical unviers of Mika: colorful, flowery, fun. His personality is very much alive too. I find myself in there.

Why did you decide to participate in The Voice ?

Music is a passion. Even more. It’s my way of life. I translate everything into music, emotions, my encounters … For me, The Voice is an opportunity to be able to express myself and discover who I really am. I watch the show for several years and each time, in front of an episode, I say to myself: “one day, it will be me, maybe”. Then I was spotted and now I live my dream.
“I’m not the kind of singer to shout”

Mennel, candidate of season 7 of The Voice

How did the guy from the telecrochet spot you?

I have a channel on Youtube and on Instagram. The show team came across one of my videos and that’s how the adventure started.

Why do you wear a turban ?

I am of Muslim confession so we can say that it is a way of wearing a veil in a more modern way. But that’s mostly part of my look. You will never see me without it. One can introduce me as “Mennel, the girl with a turban”.

It’s your signature finally?

Yes, exactly, as other artists have inseparable accessories. Like Master Gims who never removes his dark glasses.

What are your musical influences?

When I was little, I listened to a lot of oriental music. In my family and with my friends, we danced a lot about it.

Then, I became interested in English music: the band-moose of Disney films in English,. I like the sound of this language. Growing up, in college, I listened to R’n’B and urban songs. And in high school, it was soul. It’s like me today. I’m not the kind of singer screaming. I am more in the detail and finesse.

You are 22 years old. Are you still a student?

In fact, I have several hats. Yes, I am a master student of English to become an English teacher.

At the same time, I am in the middle school. And, moreover, I work as an animator in the extracurricular. I really like children.

Besides music, what are your other passions?

Languages. I mention four. First, French (my mother tongue) and Arabic. With a Syrian and Turkish father and a Moroccan and Algerian mother, I have always spoken these two languages at home. Then, at the age of 8, I learned English and finally in college, I learned Spanish. And by the way, I practice a little Swedish. I love traveling so it allows to communicate with many people.

VIDEO: Mennel, a raw talent of The Voice already very followed on the internet and “adopted” by Mika

Spoiler

She made the coach capsize in two sounds in her crystalline voice. Mennel, 22, joined the Mika team. for a long time, obviously … She comes from Besançon, in Franche-Comté and it makes them smile, the coaches. Because with his pretty turban and his recovery of the mythical Halleluija Leonard Cohen half in VO, half in Arabic, Mennel seems rather a message of hope and integration. But she does not dream of being a flag bearer. She came for the music, that’s all. Proud of her Syrian origins, she still carries in her all her culture e. Simply. With amazing purity. And without that can arouse the slightest controversy. It’s heard in his voice. And it shows on his pretty face. In his almost transparent blue eyes. Purity and gentleness obvious. She is 22 years old and until last November – when the blind auditions were recorded – she was studying as a master to become an English teacher. But the pretty Mennel regularly took the time to post videos of his mashups or covers on youtube and his Instagram account . The latter already had 26,700 subscribers before his stint at The Voice. Let’s take the bets that it will inflate inflate inflate in the weeks that will follow …

I don´t know if you all have seen the terrible discussion about religion on Mika´s Twittertimeline. There were so many Muslim before on The Voice and I don´t understand why Mennel gets so much hate. I really like her.

Things are getting really bad from what I read, it is a serious issue. I think it will get even worse the next episodes, and during the lives. People say that The Voice should remain apolitical and that Mennel should quit the contest. Angry comments are everywhere on media since Sunday morning <_<

The problem is that she is involved in some political movement and doing propaganda for Islam, from what I understand. She did some very harsh declarations about the terrorist attack in Nice, and published a song about Palestine on YT. Maybe some French fans couls tell more.

That's what you said in the French press. TF1 would have closed his tweeter account and opened an official artist account for her.
But to begin with, I feel compromised for his future career.

Besides, it might be awkward for Mika.

I understood that even she looks fragile she has very strong opinions but I didn't know she has a political background. I'm a bit confused why all this discussion on Mika's twitter timeline? Shouldn't it be aimed for the Voice/the television channel? I assume they all knew about her background.

Ok I understand now. The discussion goes around the whole system. I had only a quick look at his timeline earlier and was a bit confused.

The worse thing is that she posted some controversial comments after the terrorist attack in Nice , and this one after the murder of a priest "our government is the real terrorist"

Can't understand that the production didn't care of the contestant background before starting the show

Now that everything is recorded (and not everyone watching tv knowing the fact) they are in a real mess
