I don't know where I should put this interview of Ed sheeran but here he mentions MIKA as one of the successful anglophone singers in france to have played in Stade de France.

http://www.leparisien.fr/culture-loisirs/musique/ed-sheeran-quand-je-vois-ces-chiffres-je-me-dis-que-ce-n-est-pas-reel-07-01-2018-7486662.php

In the shadow of The Voice

Entertainment. Before going in front of the coaches, the talents must carefully rehearse. Behind the camera, a whole team help them to give the best of themselves. Discovering behind the scenes.

Marlène, Nathalie and Damien, the singing teachers

Before giving an appearance face to the red chairs a try, one must rehearse. The talents are guided, as well as the production team and musicians, by voice coaches who help them to concord with the arrangement and correct some details, if necessary...

Marlène Schaff, candidate in 2013, Nathalie Dupuy, singing teacher and Damien Silvert form this crack team.

After the auditions, and all along the adventure, they go on their mission, nearby Zazie, Mika, Florent Pagny and Pascal Obispo, with their respectives candidates.

Mélanie et Alexis, the pros of the look

If only the voice counts for the coaches, who don't see the talents during their first appearance, one must not forget that The Voice is a well-oiled TV show. The Talents can, if they want, wear their own clothes for the blind auditions. But Mélanie and Alexis, the dress designers, are here to give them some precious advices. Jackets, shoes, accessories or complete outfits can be lent so as they can feel at best on stage and the result be pleasant for the viewers.

Bruno, the talents discoverer

All the year, Bruno Berberes and his team meet thousands of talents before each season. But less than one thousand will be « reheard » in studio, in Paris, with the presence of Pascal Guix, the producer, Mathieu Grelier, the ITV Studios France programmes manager. They keep about 130 who will sing behind the coaches'chairs for the blind auditions.

They become then the Bruno's protégés, who guide them from their entry on competition (during the rehearsals, after the performances...) until their exit, and sometimes even after that !

It's frequent to find the talents of this reputed producer again in the casting of his own shows...

«The Voice» saison 7 : dans les coulisses du long parcours des candidats

Spoiler

«The Voice» season 7: behind the scenes of the long course of the candidates

We followed three candidates of the telecrochet, whose season 7 starts this Saturday on TF 1 (21 hours), over the pre-castings.

A long course of the fighter before ending up at blind auditions.

It's a story that has never been filmed and never will be. A mystery for viewers of "The Voice", far from suspecting that before landing tonight at 21h on TF 1, the candidates of the seventh season have made a long journey of the fighter since July. Because to hope to see the seats of coaches Zazie, Florent Pagny, Mika or Pascal Obispo (who replaces Mr. Pokora this year), we still need to get the right to access them.

First audition in July, taking tone and choice of song in September, meeting with the musicians, rehearsal and final audition before the staff of TF 1 and Universal, label that will produce the record of the winner in October, shooting in November ... So many eliminatory stages, chopsticks that can fall, even before the broadcast of the show in January ... Seven months of skimming, hope, stress and doubts that three young "talents" have kindly shared with us this season.

Falone, Chloé and Gabriel: rhythm, sensitivity and power. We chose them for their very different profiles, one afternoon in July when they pushed the door of "The Voice" for the very first time. Will they get to the red chairs?

Our three candidates

From left to right: Falone, Chloé and Gabriel (LP / PHILIPPE DE POULPIQUET)

Falone, 28, Paris. His strong point: an all-out charisma, between his Grace Jones look, his ease on stage and his sense of rhythm. His weak point: his fear of not being in his place.
Chloe, 19, Paris. His strong point: a phrasing finesse, which reinvents any song in French. His weak point: a double-edged fragility.
Gabriel, 22 years old, Bagnolet. His strong point: an overpowering voice and all terrain. His weak point: used to singing in weddings and retirement homes, Gabriel may lack nuance and modernity.

Translated by @Boucarilla thanks a million !!

Florent Pagny, Zazie, Mika and Pascal Obispo, the coaches of « The Voice », will still be so nutty this year ?

THE NEW WAY OF THE VOICE

Apart the arriving of Pascal Obispo to replace M.Pokora, a few modifications are inserted in this season 7, which will start this Saturday night. Will they be enough to straighten up the audience ?

« We wanted to renew the history. To relate it differently », said Matthieu Grelier, Itv Studios France programmes director, during the presentation of the seventh season of « The Voice »to the press . For this new edition, which will start this Saturday night on TF1, The TV talent show changes indeed a few rules. Goal : straighten up the decrease of the audience seen last year.

If the unmissable blind auditions stay, the « battles » and « the ultimate trial » are given up.

During the second phase of the competition from now on renamed « the final audition », the 72 selected talents will come back on stage, on line, to convince the four coaches then returned.

Finally, the 32 last selected candidates will fight during the « duels ». Not a revolutionnary change for this step, it's a question of restyled and gallicized battles.

Upsets very relatives which can be explained by the very precise and restrictive specifications of the Dutch format.

The Florent Pagny'last one

But it was necessary to review this method. For, once the blind auditions ended, the programme, always presented with spirit and talent by Nikos Aliagas, loses some viewers. The last season, about 5,4 millions of curious people were counted for the battles (28,7% of the audience), and 4,9 millions for the episodes of the ultimate trial (22,3% of audience shares).

For 6,7 millions of viewers for the blind auditions (32,5% of audience shares).

But the well-oiled mechanical of the competition stays intact. This year, make way to a new coach : Pascal Obispo. If during the first recordings, the new coach, the substitute of M.Pokora, was shy beside his three friends, Florent Pagny, Mika and Zazie well used to the exercise, the singer-songwriter quickly relaxed.

Thus, he doesn't hesitate to climb on his chair or join a talent on stage to improvise a duet. He shed a few tears when one of his hit was interpretated. The « Obispo show » pushed a lot of candidates to join his team, to the detriment of historical coaches, which are become a little bit predictable.

Anyway, Florent Pagny, present since the first season, has already announced that the seventh season will be his last. « I think that it's ok, I explored all possibilities, I'm happy », he said recently to our colleagues of Télé star. « I have also other things to do » added one who brought Stéphan Rizon to victory (saison 1) and Slimane (season 5).

For the emotion, the four coaches will sing a Michel Berger's song, Quelque chose de Tennessee, to pay tribute to Johnny Hallyday, deceased on December 6th. Thrills again when Life on Mars of David Bowie will be revisited during the first evening by a deep voice candidate.

Already revealed in the trailer, she could seduce the four coaches who then will fight for her to get her back in their team. Changes, did you say changes ?

Publié le 27/01/2018 à 16:00

Mika (The Voice) : «L’audition finale ?

Mika (The Voice): «The final audition? It's more realistic »

INTERVIEW - TF1 is launching the teleconference season 7 tonight. Mika, coach since 2014, gives us his impressions.

Pascal Obispo is your new neighbor this saison . How do you find him as a coach?

He has a very good listening, listening to a professional who makes records. He has a good relationship with pop, the French song. He knows what it is and how to work it, because it is someone who makes songs for him and for others. When he's not on stage, he's in the studio. That's really his thing. We discover it. People already know the artist, but not the producer.

What do you think of
the new mécanique , where, just after the blind audition, the battles are replaced by a final audition?

It's much better. If someone is looking for a person for a movie, or a musical, he will never organize battles. He's going to do a casting where it tightens up very quickly. It's more honest and more realistic. I really like.

At the final audition, it is the talent that keeps the hand to offer two songs. Do they make good choices?

Not all. Some are aware of their talent and what they can do or not. Others, no, and it's playing against them. In the battles, I spent a lot of time choosing songs and pairing two talents. A real battle is not done screaming. You have to be deeper. I often found myself with battles where it was hard to choose one or the other.

So, are you harder with the talents because they chose their song?

They have more power so they have to deal with the consequences.

During blind auditions, there is a game between coaches, which consists of having the last word when it comes to convincing a talent. Is it effective?

It depends on the talent. I learned that the last moment does not count. Sometimes, if you do not say anything, it leaves room. Sometimes silence soothes. And sometimes we do not talk just to convince the talent, but because we fight between us (laugh).
