Shiina Ringo Tribute album featuring MIKA Utada Hikaru, AI, LiSA, Kaela Kimura and more out in May

2018 marks the year Shiina Ringo‘s illustrious career hits its big TWO ZERO.

In tribute to the legendary artist, 13 prominent artists have provided covers of Ringo songs covering her entire catalog.

The album comes out on May 23 and is entitled “Adam to Eve no Ringo“.

I have some questions, Is Shiina Ringo a huge artist in Japan? And what about the song chosen by MIKA and the other artists on the album?

 

 

I tried to look for information about the singer Shiina Ringo but I can't find important things in french or english

at Kazimierz Serocki International Composers' Competition at Warsaw Poland.

To celebrate the 20 year career of incredible Japanese artist Sheena Ringo, a special tribute album will be released on 23 May 2018!

The concept of the record is to ‘go beyond’ – beyond generations, beyond music genres and beyond all borders.

An outstanding lineup of collaborators and featured artists are already involved on the album, including AI, Yosui Inoue, Hikaru Utada & Nariaki Obukuro, Kaela Kimura, Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku, Takao Tajima(ORIGINAL LOVE), Sakura Fujiwara, Takako Matsu, Daichi Miura, RHYMESTER, LiSA, Rekishi, the ウラシマʼS(Special Band formed for this tribute by the members from SPITZ/Mr.Children/ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION/Ameno Parade)… and now MIKA! There will also be a special short novel by million selling writer Tesuya Honda for the CD booklet. 

 

The album will be available globally on CD and download – more news coming soon.

People at my age are very good at counting years, especially those back in time...:lmfao::teehee: 

But if MIKA really performed a Japanese lyric, at the age of 15, I think it's both interesting and impressing - and also a new  prove of his talent for languages! :wub: I'll never forget him onstage in  Oslo for the first time, 07.11.07, speaking/reading from a note,  very well Norwegian! :shocked:  That's something people normally need quite some time to manage, while he just did it - without any experience :wub2: The audience went wild, of course...:yes: :naughty:

I think that his musicality help him a lot with languages because it's not only about grammar but also the sound how you speak it. Apparently he's damn good at it :naughty:

For him there is also genetics. All family members speak at least 5 languages!

Where he is even more talented is that he speaks each of the languages he knows very distinctly!

I agree with you, he has a very good ear for languages, when he was in the Czech Republic for the first time in 2015 he also said a few czech sentences at the beginning of the show and his pronunciation was quite impressive, many foreigners who even live here and learn czech have many problems with the accent but he was actually really good at it... :shocked: Mostly when some foreigners try to speak czech they sound just weird and funny but he didn't.

Yes he is amazingly talented.

In November2009, he spoke only Japanese whole of the gig ( 100 minutes ) at Tokyo. Some peeps believed "Mika ordinary speaking Japanese".

His pronunciation was very good.

Nice video, thank you! Here's the one where he starts to speak czech... :lmfao: Even though the sentences are quite short and simple, it sounds really great.
