Mika : «Tout artiste rêve de chanter au Stade de France»

 

Le chanteur et coach de «The Voice » donne quelques détails sur le show qu’il va donner ce samedi soir après la finale du top 14 de rugby. Son premier concert au Stade de France.

 

C'est beau un stade la nuit. Surtout quand c'est Mika qui illumine le Stade de France. Il est un peu plus d'une heure du matin, ce samedi, et le chanteur met un terme aux répétitions du show qu'il donnera ce soir à Saint-Denis après la confrontation entre le Castres Olympique et Montpellier en finale du top 14 (à partir de 20h35 sur France 2), le championnat de France de rugby. Une première pour lui comme pour la Ligue nationale de rugby, qui a voulu frapper fort après le test réussi de l'an dernier avec le DJ The Avener. Après quatre heures de préparatifs minutieux mais contrariés par la pluie, Mika nous a parlé en exclusivité de cette expérience «magique» qui va probablement marquer l'histoire du rugby. Et la sienne.

 

Vous chantez pour la première fois au Stade de France. Quel effet cela fait ?

MIKA. Quelle émotion lorsque l'on rentre pour la première fois dans le Stade de France par le tunnel ! C'est impressionnant, c'est un lieu incroyable. On a créé une scène assez spéciale pour ce soir et quand je suis en plein centre de la pelouse, que toutes les chaises me regardent, c'est une sensation hallucinante. C'est un énorme privilège, je suis ravi d'être là.

 

Vous aimez les stades ?

Il y a quelque chose de magique avec les stades. J'ai déjà eu la chance de chanter au Parc des Princes. Même vides ce sont des lieux sacrés. Il y a une sorte de cérémonie. C'est la première fois que j'ai le droit de monter sur la pelouse. Le plus important, c'est le match samedi, on va arriver après. Et heureusement, car on va pouvoir danser sur la pelouse sans qu'ils nous grondent.

 

C'est un vrai concert que vous allez donner ?

Je ne peux pas trop en dire, mais cela va durer presque 24 minutes, il y a 65 danseurs, une équipe de plus de 100 personnes. Cela fait trois mois que je travaille dessus, il n’y a pas un seul détail qui m'a échappé. J'ai appelé beaucoup d'amis pour m’aider à préparer ce spectacle ambitieux. C'est une collaboration très intense. Cela fait deux semaines que nous sommes en studio pour ajouter des effets sonores pour rendre cette expérience vraiment magique.

 

Quelques détails sur la scène...

C'est une scène de stade, elle pèse 3,5 tonnes et mesure 35 mètres de largeur, c'est plus grand que la scène du Superbowl. Sauf qu'on ne la monte pas en 9 ou 12 heures comme un concert normal, mais en 20 minutes après la fin du match ! C'est un challenge qu'on adore tous. J'ai accepté parce que je pensais que ce serait beau dans un endroit que j'adore et dans une ville que j'adore. Je retrouve d'ailleurs l'intensité du spectacle «Paris je t'aime» (NDLR : le 27 mai 2016 à l'AccorHotels Arena) qui était un peu similaire dans l'intensité du travail. On l'avais créé pour une seule nuit, c'était une sorte de lettre d'amour à Paris (NDLR : cinq mois après les attentats).

 

Pourquoi avoir accepté ce nouveau défi ?

Oui, c'est un énorme challenge de faire une performance avec un public qui n'est pas le mien et de le transporter rapidement dans un autre monde, un autre univers. Il faut bien savoir ce que l'on fait. J'espère que cela va marcher dans le stade et aussi bien sûr avec le public à la maison, car le concert sera diffusé sur Canal + et un peu France 2.

 

Vous voulez faire danser...

Mon public en général doit bosser, je veux qu'il danse, je veux qu'il chante. Mais franchement, quand on voit le show lumière, cela donne envie. Ce public de rugby, de Paris, de Montpellier, de Castres, ce public va être transformé non seulement en un choeur de 80 à 90 000 personnes mais aussi en 90 000 étoiles. Vous aimez le rugby ?

C'est quelque chose de spécial. Cela touche toutes sortes de personnes. Moi j'ai grandi dans le système éducatif anglais et le rugby y est très important. Mais je n'étais jamais assez fort pour jouer dans les équipes, personne ne me sélectionnait (rires). En Angleterre, il y a un truc qu'ils appellent le baptême. La première fois que tu joues au rugby avec des types, ils te mettent allongé dans la boue, le visage dans la boue. Après cette expérience, je me suis dit que le rugby n'était peut être pas pour ma force physique. Et aujourd'hui je me retrouve sur une des plus belles pelouses de rugby du monde, invité par la ligue nationale de rugby. Je m’y attendais vraiment pas et c'est assez bluffant.

 

Cela vous donne envie de revenir chanter au Stade de France ?

Faire mon show ici, oui, bien sûr, c'est un rêve, mais je pense que tout artiste rêve de chanter ici. En même temps, déjà, je pense qu'on a fait quelque chose de bien, j’espère qu'on regardera cette performance sans penser qu’elle se passe autour d'un événement sportif. On a apporté tellement d'attention à chaque détail. La ligue de rugby a été très patiente avec moi.
