Comme puremedias.com l'indiquait en juillet dernier, après une seule saison dans le programme, Pascal Obispo ne sera pas de la partie. Quant à Zazie, si elle indiquait encore ce matin à nos confrères du "Parisien" que cela pourrait "être un peu compliqué" dans son emploi du temps sans pouvoir évoquer son avenir dans le programme, la coach victorieuse des saisons 4 et 7 ne sera pas de retour. A l'inverse, présent depuis la troisième édition du célèbre télé-crochet, et victorieux avec Kendji Girac en saison 3, Mika sera lui bel et bien là pour une cinquième saison en tant que coach du programme.

Un retour et deux arrivées !

A ses côtés, l'interprète de "Relax (Take It Easy)" accueillera ainsi trois têtes, dont une bien connue du public. Ainsi, comme nous vous l'indiquions le mois dernier, cette saison 8 sera celle du retour de Jenifer, après son départ à l'issue de la saison 4. S'il indiquait également cet été ne pas avoir pris sa décision, Julien Clerc sera bel et bien l'un des quatre coachs de cette nouvelle édition. Enfin, selon nos informations, la saison 8 de "The Voice" accueillera pour la première fois un artiste issu du milieu urbain puisque c'est Soprano, également coach de "The Voice Kids", qui complète ce jury.

En renouvelant ainsi leur quatuor de coachs, TF1 et ITV Studios France espèrent voir les audiences du télé-crochet repartir à la hausse. En audience veille, la saison 7, diffusée de janvier à mai dernier, s'était achevée sur le plus faible bilan historique du programme. En moyenne, ce sont ainsi 5,23 millions de téléspectateurs qui avaient suivi le parcours de Maëlle et ses camarades, soit 26,5% du public. Si le programme restait l'un des plus puissants de la grille de TF1 avec "Koh-Lanta", il égarait tout de même près d'un demi-million d'habitués sur un an et plus de 2 points de parts de marché.

C’est la vraie surprise de cette 8e saison. Julien Clerc est le petit nouveau de « The Voice » (dont le prochain jury sera composé également de Mika, le pilier, de Jenifer, qui revient, et de Soprano, nouvelle recrue aussi). JULIEN CLERC. Vous avez vu ça ! C’est la première fois que l’on me propose de participer à un télécrochet. J’ai été agréablement surpris. Pour un artiste populaire, qui cherche à s’adresser au plus grand nombre, c’est important. Je suis heureux et honoré qu’on ait pensé à moi, c’est amusant, c’est un nouveau rôle pour moi.

Cela surprend de vous voir ici…

C’est le bon moment. Au début de ma carrière, la télé ne m’emballait pas plus que ça, j’ai été obligé de m’y habituer. Cela reste un endroit où je suis moins à l’aise que sur une scène. La télé est un instrument que j’ai dû apprivoiser et cela m’amuse assez d’arriver au bout de cinquante ans à y participer en tant qu’acteur. C’est le résultat d’une maturation, d’une réflexion…

Qu’est-ce qui vous a poussé à accepter ?

Je me sens tout à fait légitime car c’est une émission musicale de qualité et l’équipe m’a donné envie de travailler avec elle. Ils connaissaient leur sujet et aiment la musique sous toutes ses formes, dont la chanson française, ce qui était important pour moi. Je ne suis pas un fidèle de « The Voice », je suis un zappeur à la télé. Je tombe dessus de temps en temps et je regarde. Mais, dans mon entourage, il y a des gens de tous les bords, des très jeunes qui adorent, mon fils (NDLR : Leonard, 10 ans), mon petit-fils (Jules, 11 ans), des amis fans de rock’n’roll aussi. Cette émission est aimée par tout le monde.

Quel rôle voulez-vous y jouer ?

Celui d’un ancien bienveillant. (Il sourit.) Je n’aurai pas d’arrièrepensée, j’arriverai décontracté, avec la seule envie de m’amuser. Se donner en spectacle n’est pas si simple que ça, mais, à partir du moment où vous pouvez vous regarder dans une glace, ne pas trahir ceux qui vous aiment, vous pouvez faire « The Voice ». Cela m’a toujours été difficile de juger les autres, mais je pense que je peux le faire maintenant.

Vous aurez aussi un rôle de coach…

Généralement, je n’aime pas donner des conseils, mais là ce sera mon rôle et je vais essayer de le faire bien. J’ai envie de transmettre et de partager avec des gens plus jeunes. Ma carrière, qui commence à s’étendre sur une période assez longue, peut, peut-être, servir à quelque chose.

Que venez-vous chercher dans « The Voice » ?

Je vais pouvoir parler musique, entendre beaucoup de choses, certaines que je connais moins. Cela me plaît de rester au contact du monde d’aujourd’hui. J’aime le mélange des générations, c’est aussi ce qui me fait rester aux Restos du coeur audelà de la bonne action que cela représente. Cela me nourrit. Finalement, travailler avec JeanLoup Dabadie (l’un de ses paroliers fétiches qui a signé notamment “Femmes je vous aime” ou “Ma préférence”) ou Vianney (avec qui il a collaboré pour son dernier album), cela revient au même : c’est essayer d’écrire une bonne chanson.

Vous avez pris conseil auprès des autres coachs ?

Je vais le faire. Je connais Jenifer et Soprano, pas MIKA, je me réjouis de le rencontrer. Mais j’ai déjà parlé un peu à Florent Pagny sans qu’il sache à l’époque que j’étais pressenti. Je voulais avoir son sentiment. J’ai bien aimé sa façon de participer, se montrant tel qu’il est, assez cash, honnête, tout en restant bienveillant… Car il ne faut pas ignorer le stress des candidats.

Que pensez-vous des télécrochets ?

Je me suis souvent posé la question : « Est-ce que tu aurais été capable d’y participer, de chanter autre chose que ce que tu sais faire ? » Je l’ai fait un peu à mes débuts, dans les bars. Mais je suis assez impressionné par ces candidats. Cela me bluffe d’autant plus qu’ils sont de plus en plus jeunes. Ce que j’aime aussi dans « The Voice », c’est que ce ne sont pas forcément les gagnants qui font carrière. Regardez Louane, Claudio Capeo…

Qu’est-ce qui fera retourner votre fauteuil ?

L’émotion. Pour ma tournée des 50 ans de carrière, j’ai fait un casting pour avoir des « Emilie Jolie » à chaque concert, pour reprendre avec moi la chanson de la comédie musicale. Julien Clerc is the new kid of "The Voice" (whose next jury will also be composed of Mika, the pillar, Jenifer, who returns, and Soprano, new recruit too). TF 1's telecrochet hopes to expand its audience and the singer to 70 spring, 24 albums and 18 million records sold, will enjoy an exceptional exposure at a time when its news is very busy: a portrait of France 3 September 28 , the release of an anthology and a reissue of his latest album "A nos amours" in October, the end of his tour of "50 years", with a visit to the Seine Musicale from 22 to 25 November. We collected his first impressions in his new red armchair.

It is the right time. At the beginning of my career, the TV did not pamper me more than that, I had to get used to it. It's still a place where I'm less comfortable than on a stage. The TV is an instrument that I had to tame and it amuses me enough to arrive after fifty years to participate as an actor. It is the result of a maturation, a reflection ...

What prompted you to accept?

I feel completely legitimate because it's a quality music show and the team made me want to work with it. They knew their subject and love music in all its forms, including the French song, which was important to me. I'm not a fan of "The Voice", I'm a zapper on TV. I fall on it from time to time and I look. But, in my entourage, there are people from all sides, very young people who adore, my son (note: Leonard, 10 years old), my grandson (Jules, 11 years old), friends fans of rock ' n'roll too. This show is loved by everyone.

What role do you want to play?

That of a benevolent former. (He smiles.) I will not have a back-seat, I will arrive relaxed, with the only desire to have fun. It's not that easy to perform, but from the moment you can look at yourself in the mirror, do not betray those who love you, you can do "The Voice". It has always been difficult for me to judge others, but I think I can do it now.

You will also have a coaching role ...

Generally, I do not like giving advice, but this will be my role and I will try to do it well. I want to share and share with younger people. My career, which begins to stretch over a fairly long period of time, may be useful for something.

What are you looking for in "The Voice"?

I will be able to talk music, hear a lot of things, some that I know less. It pleases me to stay in touch with today's world. I like the mix of generations, it is also what makes me stay at the Restos of the heart beyond the good action that this represents. It feeds me. Finally, working with JeanLoup Dabadie (one of his favorite songwriters who signed "Femmes je vous aime" or "My favorite") or Vianney (with whom he collaborated for his last album), it comes down to the same thing: c is trying to write a good song.

You took advice from other coaches?

I will do it. I know Jenifer and Soprano, not MIKA, I look forward to meeting him. But I already spoke a little to Florent Pagny without him knowing at the time that I was feeling. I wanted to have his feeling. I liked his way of participating, showing himself as he is, enough cash, honest, while remaining benevolent ... Because we must not ignore the stress of the candidates.

What do you think of telecollers?

I often asked myself the question: "Would you have been able to participate, to sing something other than what you can do? I did it a little early, in bars. But I am quite impressed by these candidates. This bluffs me all the more because they are younger and younger. What I like about "The Voice" is that it's not necessarily the winners who make a career. Look Louane, Claudio Capeo ...

What will return your chair?

Emotion. For my 50-year career tour, I did a casting to have "Emilie Jolie" at each concert, to take back with me the song of the musical. So I trained a little, actually. (He smiles.) Among them, I was also joined this summer at a festival in Bresse by the last winner of "The Voice", Maëlle. In addition to her kindness, she already had incredible know-how. The viewers were not mistaken.

Yes, it looks like this. He wears the t-shirt Pink Motel (he used to wear it in the past) and I was surprised that he was dressed like this. And his hair is shorter than he has now.
