Mika presenta I Love Beirut, un show digital

The singers filmed the clip of Me, myself in different parts of the world due to the pandemic.

There are few occasions in which - in 21 years of career - Danna Paola has shown her most vulnerable side, but now she launches Me, myself, a song that deals with self-love and self-care. In an interview with Publimetro, Danna Paola and Mika spoke about this collaboration.

How would you describe your work together?

- Danna Paola:

For me it was something very magical. I have been a fan of Mika for many years and he is one of the greatest musicians, one of the coolest performers that I know. The possibility of composing a song, of working together, was the best thing that could have happened to me. I flew to Miami, we met there and it was instant magic, I can't be more grateful to life, to Mika, and how the universe came together to launch this song. It arises from something very magical, very genuine and very admirable.

- Mika (M):

Danna Paola is an incredible woman, she sings, composes, acts, she is multifaceted. Everyone I know knows that she has become one of the most famous artists in the world in recent times. It was amazing for me to work with an artist as talented as her, but the most surprising thing was that it all started in my kitchen, in Miami. It was a lot of fun doing this song while we had coffee and talked about the things we lived through. She told me about the moment she was going through when she composed it and I thought it was very nice that she wanted to open up and sing about self-love. I thought 'she's a different kind of girl' by showing herself this way, so we got down to business and here's the result. It has been one of the most important and meaningful collaborations of my career.

Me, myself comes to music at a time when there is a lot of talk about self-care - DP:

Yes, I wrote it when I was going through one of the darkest moments of my life, a year ago. For me it was very important to capture all those emotions in a song and talk about self-love, about the moments that we all go through, but we talk little. He doesn't talk about leaving a relationship, he doesn't talk about breaking up with someone and starting a relationship with yourself, he talks about starting to stop fighting with yourself, about having a whole and rewarding relationship with yourself and saying 'now it's me and no one else'.

What is the importance of transmitting these messages in your careers? - M:

In these moments, sensitivity is the true power and that is also scary, because we constantly avoid opening ourselves so as not to be attacked. It is essential to realize that the idea of perfection is not the most important thing. And it is important to talk about these issues so that the fans know that we are the same, that we feel the same way, that I can compose a song in my room with which people from the other side of the world also identify. It's liberating right now to do collaborations like this.

“For me it was a goal in my career to do this collaboration with Mika, an artist whom I have admired for 10 years, whom I have learned a lot and it gives me great pleasure to meet. I hope people enjoy Me, myself as much as we do doing it "

Salma Hayek and Danna Paola join the international project for Beirut

The international initiative seeks to generate funds for the victims of the explosions in Beirut

United States.- Salma Hyek joins forces with Danna Paola with musician Mika for a special concert in an attempt to raise funds for the victims of the Beirut explosion in Lebanon.

Both Mexicans have shone a lot in their careers, their fame being very important in foreign countries, where their followers praise each of their projects, Salma Hayek and Danna Paola, who have reaped the fruits of a successful artistic career that was born in the corridors of the company Televisa.

Currently, Salma is one of the most recognized Mexican actresses in the world and one of the pioneers in venturing into Hollywood in the current era, achievements that have also positioned her as a producer of different entertainment projects, in addition to boosting her career as an entrepreneur.

For her part, Danna Paola has gained great relevance in the last three years, because despite the fact that she began her artistic career as just a child, her great fame hit was due to her participation in the Netflix series Elite, a project carried out in Spain that earned him public recognition and fame in many countries where the serial was screened.

Salma Hayek, Rufus Wainwright and Etel Adnan are several of the names to perform on September 19 to do their bit to help the victims who are struggling.

All funds raised from ticket sales and donations for the GoFundMe campaign will be divided between the Lebanese Red Cross and Save the Children.

The fundraising concert was announced by Mika last month when she took to Instagram to raise awareness for her latest project to help out. The singer was devastated after the explosion that claimed more than 180 lives on August 4.

What's more, thousands were left with life-changing injuries and many still need urgent basic assistance, shelter and medical care.

A GoFundMe campaign has also been created so that additional donations can be made. Donations can be made at: gofundme.com/ilovebeirut.

So far, more than £ 82,000 has been raised as the fundraiser continues to climb to its target of £ 100,000. Fans can get their tickets through Ticketmaster, as more guest acts will join the line in the coming days.

Although the details of the participation of the Mexican women in the event organized by the singer are unknown, it is believed that Danna will offer a couple of remote musical numbers; while Salma, for her part, was to deliver an awareness speech in honor of those affected by the fatal explosions.
