I love the melody, it's more a work of art, more like a poem, than a catchy song - definitely not mainstream, definitely unique, and I agree it reminds me of Ordinary Man - which I also love. It's a song I can't always listen to, not something that you can just hear while doing something else - but some of my most favourite songs ever are the same (for example my all-time-favourite "Music" by John Miles), that's what makes them so special.

Last year, Mika shared a recommendation on Twitter, for a stand-up on Netflix. I watched it and a part of it was so inspiring to me that I made it a section of my degree thesis. Because of that, it really stuck with me and in November, when we heard the first snippet of Blue, I immediately thought that he could have taken inspiration from that as well. So, after reading this part of the lyrics "Red like the flame that burns in you but the hottest part of it is blue" my feeling (and happiness!) grew stronger and I went back to the thread of the Vanity Fair event to find what I wrote about it. I really wanted to share it here with you all, now that Blue is officially on the album and is touching me so much:

What A Beautiful Song, So... I Have no words to describe it properly, maybe heavenly?  I Listen to this and it makes me fly in my mind to some other place, magical, a bit sad... 

Blue was Always one of my favorite colors. It's so nice to hear a song like that from my favorite artist! He describes perfectly that interesting color: like the song itself, Blue is sad but always peaceful and makes you feel safe, like this song  and the lyrics! It's magical

I have to admit that the first time I listened to Blue, it kinda bored me. 

But now it's one of my favourites. I need it especially when I get stressed out, it manages to soothe me. I like both the lyrics and his voice, particularly the way he sings "I will always love the blue in you"... I'm always in heaven

Blue is one of my favorite song. Idk why, I love the lyrics, his soft voice...  Mellody, everything. Couple of fans doesn't like so much but you can listen this song when you are calm.

I honestly also don't understand why some don't like this song or his voice in the song. I actually quite like it. It's so beautiful and touching. It gives me a lot of feelings at the same time.

I had the same thought, probably because it's so slow. Just that OMS is one of my least fave Mika songs, and Blue is one of my faves.

I dont like it and I barely listen it. if something gives to me it is sadness and I find it boring. It doesn't excite me.

Well, I also didn't care about that song much, but as I had the chance to hear him singing it live in couldn't believe why I didn't like it before. His voice is amazing when he sings OMS.

And so I would enjoy hearing Blue live in a gig. But as I can't go to any of them... that's just a dream for now.

That happened to me for Make You Happy - I don't like it at all on the album, but the (symphonic) live version was just really good. But with OMS - nope, not even hearing it live helped me liking it more.
