Les festivaliers des Francofolies de la Réunion de ce samedi, le savent déjà et ont eu la primeur de cette annonce. Mika sera bien l'invité de cette édition 2020 du Sakifo. Après un Ben Harper en 2019, l'équipe de Jérôme Galabert met une nouvelle fois, les petits plats dans les grands pour une édition musicale très alléchante. Habitué des grandes scènes internationales, le concert ou plutôt le SHOW de Mika sera à coup sûr, un moment incontournable du festival et de mois de mai à La Réunion.

SAKIFO, c’est ce qu’il faut !

Créé en 2004, le Sakifo Musik Festival est un « rougail », joyeux mélange des genres musicaux, constituant son ADN avec l’éclectisme comme maître-mot. Installé depuis 2008 à Saint-Pierre, « capitale du sud » de l’île de la Réunion, en bord de mer au coeur du quartier de la Ravine Blanche, le festival a pris une toute autre dimension sur un site unique et idyllique.

 

Les pieds dans le sable face à la mer, les festivaliers écoutent têtes d’affiches et artistes émergents, passent de l’impressionnante scène Salahin et ses pointures à la Poudrière qui porte bien son nom tant le rock, le rap ou le maloya y explosent d’énergie, la scène Filaos, parenthèse d’émotions entre brise et cyclone. Au cœur du festival, la Salle verte, espace aménagé dans la plus pure tradition des fêtes familiales créoles, concentre la magie de cette alchimie. En 2015, le Sakifo adresse un clin d’œil à l’évolution des usages musicaux réunionnais en faisant revivre le temps du festival le TiBird, premier café-concert de l’île créé par feu Pierre Macquart. Aujourd’hui la scène TiBird, ancrée sur le sable, offre des sessions live inédites et pleines de surprises à l’image du lieu mythique.

Le dimanche matin, c’est autour d’un traditionnel « risofé » (riz cuisiné consommé en petit déjeuner à l’époque des travaux aux champs) que les festivaliers dansent le maloya sur le site magnifique de Terre Sainte, village de pêcheurs.

 

C’est un peu tout ça, l’identité du Sakifo : un Instagram de la Réunion d’aujourd’hui, un pied dansant le maloya et le séga dans les fêtes familiales, l’autre se trémoussant sur les dance-floors électro ou les caf-conc’ rock, et les mains aussi habiles au djembé qu’au smartphone.

Founded in 2004, The Sakifo Musik festival is a joyful mix of different styles of music and if we needed one word to describe the festival it would be, Eclecticism. Born in the seaside town of Saint Leu on Réunion Island the festival has now placed its roots in Saint Pierre a.k.a the capital of the south and happens over 3 days during the weekend near end of may and early June.

 

In the heart of Ravine Blanche, the site is ideally placed right next to the beach which makes it’s location truly one of a kind.Feet in the sand, eyes on the sea, this is one of the most incredible opportunities for festival go-ers to see some of their favourite headliners live and discover emerging artists on 5 diverse stages. Starting with the main stage Salahin, that has hosted incredible names in the past. If you’ve come to feel the energy, Poudriere is the scene for you, with music such as rap, maloya and rock ! Not to mention, Filaos which is has a bit of both worlds between discovering new artists and dancing! The green room is the heart of traditional music, if this is one of your first time visiting and you want to discover Reunionese music, you can’t miss the green room! Our latest stage, created as a homage to the first concert-café of the island founded by Pierre Macquard. This scene offers live sessions right on the beach, a great stage to enjoy the sunset. Sunday morning is where the Risofé (traditional reunionese brunch with rice as main course) takes place, on the beautiful fishing town of Terre Sainte, people come on Sakifo’s sunday morning to enjoy the local maloya concert at the Risofé.

Le Sakifo, le festival de toutes les musiques, doit se tenir du vendredi 29 au dimanche 31 mai à Saint-Pierre. Pour le moment aucune annulation des concerts n'est envisagée. "Depuis le début de cette crise sanitaire, nous sommes en lien avec les autorités compétentes et restons attentifs quant à l'évolution de la situation. Le dernier arrêté du ministère des Solidarités et de la Santé relatif à la pandémie de COVID-19, effectif jusqu'au 15 avril ainsi que le récent communiqué du Premier Ministre n'ont pour le moment aucun impact sur la tenue de cette 17ème édition du Sakifo musik festival" soulignent les organisateurs en soulignant "i tyenbo i larg pa"

"Bien entendu, nous nous préparons à toute situation et nous nous tenons prêts à prendre les dispositions nécessaires en cas d’annulation du festival au complet" dit encore les organisateurs avant de conclure : "vivre des épreuves, c’est dans l’ADN du Sakifo. On en a subi plusieurs et celle-ci n’est pas des moindres. Depuis la naissance du Sakifo, notre crédo n’est pas uniquement de vous proposer des concerts mais surtout de vous faire vivre de bons moments".

Concernant la billetterie, elle est mise dans un premier ainsi que les offres « Sakifly », qui permet aux métropolitains de combiner vol+billet à prix attractif, sont en pause. Pas t'inquiétude pour ceux qui avaient anticipé et déjà acheté leur billet, l'équipe précise :

Suite aux derniers éléments du Conseil de défense et de sécurité nationale, nous ne pouvons ni garantir la capacité, ni les conditions d’accueil du public, des artistes et des équipes pour le mois de septembre.

Par conséquent et en collaboration avec les autorités locales, la Préfecture, la Sous-Préfecture, la Mairie de Saint-Pierre, la Direction des Affaires Culturelles, nous avons pris la décision de décaler le festival Sakifo de deux mois supplémentaires, soit du 13 au 15 novembre 2020.

 

Ce délai établi en commun doit nous permettre de réaliser plus sereinement le festival. Ainsi, nous vous dévoilerons la programmation et la billetterie dès le 10 juillet prochain.
Pour les détenteurs d’un billet Sakifo prévu initialement au mois de mai, qui souhaiteraient un remboursement, les demandes sont prolongées jusqu’au 31 juillet.
Au-delà de cette date, les billets non remboursés seront automatiquement valables pour novembre.

Les festivaliers désirant modifier leur billet du mois de mai, afin de l’adapter à la programmation de novembre, peuvent faire la demande directement par email à billetterie@sakifo.com.

La filière culturelle tant au niveau local que nationale est en grande difficulté car à ce jour demeurent beaucoup trop d’incertitudes. Nous tenons donc à vous remercier pour votre soutien aux acteurs culturels réunionnais ! Vous avez été plus de 1000 à le montrer ! Il est encore temps d’agir !

Beyond this date, non-refunded tickets will automatically be valid for November.
