Thanks. If I understand it right, it's an Italian late night show  which the presenter is doing online now, live from his home, and the guests join via Internet? And the first one he did had 2.5 Mio. viewers. Nice! Happy for the Italians that they get something from Mika in their language as well. Hopefully in addition to another cooking show later this week. :teehee: I'll be watching, but as I won't understand much, I hope our dear Italian friends will translate it for us. :wub2:

What does Cattelan mention Mika ?

Hello @Kumazzz,

Alessandro Cattelan says that the episode will be based on three different time zones: his guests will be Mika (currently based in Athens) and the chef Giorgio Locatelli (based in London), plus Anna (don't know who she is, honestly), and each of them will tell how their lives are going on and how they feel during this peculiar period

Ah, so this isn't live but just a prerecorded video?

It's 15:50 at Athena, maybe yesterday afternoon...

So from what I understand, Mika first talks about why he is in Athens (same things he said on the first cooking IG live, that his family is nearby and Andy can't go to the US).

And can I just add, why do his videos always keep freezing when he tries to show the view out of his window?! :lmfao: Probably bad connection out there. At least here we can see half of it. :teehee:

Then the presenter asks how the situation in Greece is, and Mika says everything is closed, and something like that when going to buy food, people keep a distance voluntarily. And that people are very friendly there despite the situation, unlike in London where his friends told him it's terrible, people are getting aggressive.

The next question where Mika laughs I don't understand. Then Mika shows his fingers with some small bruises and the presenter says something about it being the hand of a worker, I think? And Mika says it's the hand of a hypochondriac, but I don't understand the rest.

About the next question I'm not sure, does he say he's learning Greek with the App "Duolingo"?

Then they're talking about piano playing, I think the presenter asks what was the first song Mika learned to play on the piano? And Mika says he doesn't have a piano there. But he has this piano app on his tablet and he tries to teach that song to the presenter (who fails :teehee:) - it's this one btw, if anyone's interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyIQgUt-WIc ... or here the version from the movie "Big" with Tom Hanks, which the presenter recognizes and Mika says "Yes!": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CF7-rz9nIn4 (can I just say, I absolutely LOVED that movie back in the 80s!! :wub2:).

In the end the presenter wishes Mika good luck, and I think he says something like he can use that? ("ho bisogno")

I hope some of the Italian speakers can add a few more details. :teehee:

I’m wondering why they didn’t choose London, because of the not nice situation? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Since the house is surely bigger and he would have a piano 🤔 and closer to Paris

But since the bad situation In UK, we can guess it wasn’t a bad choice going to Athens

about the “good luck”: Alessandro said “in bocca al lupo” (in the mouth of the wolf) which means “good luck” and Mika said “I need the wolf”

Why does he need a wolf?! :teehee: Maybe he misses his dogs?

I think he went to Athens to be in the EU, so he can see his family in Paris, if necessary. I guess when he decided, no one knew that the borders within the EU would get closed as well. But from what I understand in this interview, if people there are friendly, as opposed to aggressive in London, I think it was the right choice. The health system probably isn't the best in Greece, but neither is the one in the UK.

The case numbers still are relatively low in Greece, I don't know if that's just because they're not testing much, but maybe that way it's still better than the high numbers elsewhere, which cause people to panic. I don't know what this hypochondriac thing was about, related to his fingers (did he say how he got those bruises?), but he said before that he's a hypochondriac, and that's surely not easy with Corona around. These days many people wonder if they might've caught Corona when they just have a slight cough, you don't even need to be a hypochondriac for that.

He said "I need a wolf" since the Italian expression for "good luck" is literally "in the mouth of the wolf" 😅

Yeah, I understood that... so he does mean that he needs the luck, as I thought first? That's what I'd have interpreted from the look on his face, although I don't understand the details of those particular Italian sayings.

Could it be that Andy is working there or/and wished to be closed to his family as well ?

Mika said that they are there because Andreas doesn't have an American passport and they have decided to go to Athens also not to be too far from the rest of his family which is Paris.

(He also said that his mom is not well)
