Art Treasure Trove (free streams etc.)

Allora, I thought we can have a space to share information and links about interesting free videos on demand or broadcasting/streaming events, of which there are a lot these days.

There was an avalanche of fantastic art projects at the beginning of the lockdown (most notably, London's National Theatre had streamed 16 majestic productions from its archives over the course of four months). As some theatres reopened, the number of online events has somewhat dropped, but there are still a few gems.

Here are the current ones I know of (all of them are free!):

– Metropolitan Opera has been streaming a different opera each day since March 2020 (https://www.metopera.org);

– Universal streamed several musicals, including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Phantom of the Opera, and Cats (https://www.youtube.com/theshowsmustgoon). This stopped in July but they promised that a new season will be 'coming soon' (Mikasoon, more like);

– Cirque du Soleil posts 60-minute specials every Friday (https://www.youtube.com/CirqueduSoleil);

– Bayerische Staatsoper made Marina Abramovic's new opera-project, 7 Deaths of Maria Callas, available until October 7 (https://operlive.de).

I started this thread because I'm sure a lot of Mika fans also love art in general. I certainly am one of those people who can never shut up about a new lavish exhibition in town, a mind-blowing indie film, or an experimental play. (Which is usually met with utter annoyance and sheer incomprehension from people around me). I very much hope that the MFC is full of 'bohemian' freaks like me.

In fact, the impetus for this thread is very particular: I was bummed when I realised that I had missed the one-night-only streaming of Hadrian, an opera by Rufus Wainwright ('Thank you Rufus, thank you Auden and James Dean'), on August 10. I had no idea that the Canadian Opera Company organises digital watch parties, and have come across the information totally by fluke. It's hard to keep up with all the different online events around the globe!

So, please feel free to share any interesting links, even the most obscure or minute ones. For instance, if some small theatre in, say, Athens streams Shakespeare plays in Greek with English subtitles, or some artist does musical Instagram lives... You got the idea.

P. S. I hope I did the right thing by opening this thread. But I'm sort of new to this forum. So I am sorry if that sort of thing is irrelevant.
