Perfetto sarai tu!

Magari l’avessero detto prima a me!

AVANTI A TESTA ALTA

You will be perfect!

A CELEB GROUP AND A FRESH PRINTED GUIDE TO TURNING THE LIGHTS ON A SHIFT

OF ROUTE THAT WE LIKE A LOT: RENTALS ARE IN CRISIS, LONG LIVE THE "DIVERSITY"

Daisy Ridley, 28, the heroine of the latest Star Wars series with Adam Driver was a very shy and anxious child. She had health problems (endometriosis) and acne in addition: "I considered myself" differently a teenager "because I hated makeup and I skipped parties. Books and cinema saved me ». Lionel Messi, 33, known as "the flea", Argentine footballer who has become a legend, six times golden ball, has a low center of gravity (just 1 meter and 30 centimeters high, only with treatment has "risen" to 1 and 69) , and it was his luck. Mika, a very charming Lebanese musician, composer and pop star, is dyslexic: "I can't even read the time on the clock and I use the computer keyboard to write (with a pen it's impossible)".

Bullied, called "stupid" by schoolmates, today he speaks seven languages. Susanna Tamaro has Asperger's syndrome, a "highly functioning" form of autism, but the bestseller Go Where Your Heart Takes You was born from her complicated and painful emotional world. 51-year-old Peter Dinklage is a dwarf, but in addition to making his way out of the Game of Thrones massacres, where Lannister's wily Tyrion was, he has won four Emmys, the Oscars of television. Considered by all to be a very good actor, married with two children, he fights "for the rights of little people". The guide Nobody is imperfect, the revenge of the different by Vladimiro Polchi (De Agostini).

Bebe Vio, 23, had her arms and legs amputated due to meningitis, but as a Paralympic fencing champion she is an absolute celebrity and a symbol (Mattel has even dedicated a doll to her). She doesn't want her to say "poor thing". Her favorite line of hers? "Life is cool." Jonathan Bazzi, 33, writer who grew up in the Milanese suburbs of Rozzano, arrived in the selection of the Strega with the book Febbre, and much awarded, is at peace with his identity: homosexual, HIV-positive. “I was a teenager and then a frightened, influenced, paralyzed boy. I contracted the HIV virus. I don't know when, it's not important. They are not my homosexuality, my HIV-positive, my stuttering, but they are that observation center that sees these things from a certain distance ». And here we are: now the “different ones” (they used to define them like this) are taking their revenge.

IDENTITY BEATS DIKTAT

The new psychological and sociological theories (finally) make it clear that "no one is imperfect". And this is also the title of the book by Vladimiro Polchi (published by De Agostini) which mimics a famous line from the cult film with Marilyn Monroe

Some like it hot, and it collects thirty stories from the past and present, from the legendary Agatha Christie to the Canadian model and activist with vitiligo Winnie Harlow. Change the point of view: there are no more standards, canons, diktats, there are only identities. Vanessa Incontrada declared it extremely simply and effectively: "I want to scream it. Perfection does not exist! If only they had told me before! It should be included among the first teachings they give us: wash your hands before eating, do not swear and perfection does not exist ».

In short, we move from the risk of diversity to the value of uniqueness. As the psychologist Henri Tajfel theorized: "The black sheep is the interesting one."

THE TRAP OF THE "RIGHT"

Some signs, in fact, had already been there. First the blog of imperfect mothers, then the body positive movement to clear non-standard bodies (and Kim Kardashian lent a hand). Below, the diversity on the catwalk and the freedom of no longer having to give oneself a precise (necessarily reductive) definition that various celebs have helped to normalize. And in the end, the stories, the many individual paths made of rebirths and abrupt turns. Maurizia Triggiani of the Disordinary Family (Facebook page with just under 80 thousand followers), in the book Io, disordinaria (De Agostini) tells how she came to feel herself when she came out of the tunnel of forced choices: the degree in the "right" faculty, marriage with the "right" man, a child at the "right" time, the "right" career. You have discovered that there is no right way to be, only the possibility of accepting who we really are.

FORWARD WITH A HIGH HEAD

Patrizia Arcadi, who witty introduces herself as “the imperfect coach” has a mantra: welcome who you are. "Imperfection is part of us, and in theory we all agree" she explains, "yet we often find ourselves considering defects and errors as weaknesses to be hidden, feeling vulnerable in fear of a judgment, of a rejection. Granting ourselves imperfection is the first step to understand that we deserve to be happy, even in imperfection. Indeed, precisely for this ». Dinklage, Ridley, Mika, Tamaro and the others understood this. And Jonathan Bazzi manages to summarize all this in a striking sentence: "I don't feel unlucky: HIV is my characteristic, nothing more".

Not sure if this goes to the Italian Press topic, or Mika Returns to X Factor Italia in 2020.

There is an interview with Vergo, in which he mentions Mika:

:italia:

RATTLER

22 APR 2021

Intervista: Vergo

:uk:

Google Translate of the part about Mika:

How important was it to have Mika as a judge?

For me it was fundamental. He has that ability to fish out your most hidden sides, those that you lock up over time and do not face. Thanks to him, I understood the importance of celebration and sharing in music.

Google translation:

THE "I BLAME" OF MIKA ON LEBANON
The courage is also that of the international pop star Mika who, exclusively for Style, writes and launches an appeal to keep international public opinion high on the situation in his country of birth: "Lebanon, what are you doing with your children?" . A heartfelt cry that Mika transforms into a veritable indictment against the politicians of one of the most battered nations in the Middle East, nine months after the explosion in the port of Beirut which destroyed a large part of the capital, killing over 200 victims and thousands of wounded.

"My country is dying and its children find themselves hostage, paralyzed by bad luck, stunned by disasters: the explosion at the port, the Coronavirus and the economic crisis" writes the author of many international musical hits that on 19 September 2020 to the drama from his country has already dedicated I love Beirut, a streaming event that raised over a million dollars for the Lebanese Red Cross. The text by Mika, who thus wants to give a signal of hope to Lebanon and its inhabitants, accompanies a photo shoot that Gianmarco Maraviglia made in Beirut between January and February 2021 six months after the outbreak of August 4, 2020.

OK, here we go:

Lebanon, what do you do with your children? A woman from behind on a terrace overlooking Beirut harbor. Head down, she looks away from the ruins she sees on the horizon. Nine months after the deadly explosion that sowed chaos and desolation in my hometown, this photo by Gianmarco Maraviglia acts like an allegory of Lebanon. This woman looks away so as not to be ashamed. Like so many others, as I am sometimes tempted to do. I am ashamed of this state that leads to the ruin of a paradise, ashamed of its leaders. I feel ashamed in the name of these women, of these children, of these old men, of these betrayed and abandoned refugees. The day after August 4, 2020, the outgoing premier (Hassan Diab, ed) said loud and clear: "Those responsible will be held accountable".

Instead, nine months later he is still managing daily affairs while the judge in charge of the investigation has been removed. This parody of justice is like a second explosion, a second death for the victims and their families. My country is dying and its children find themselves held hostage, paralyzed by bad luck, stunned by disasters: the port, the coronavirus and the economic crisis. More than 200 dead and thousands of injured after the "apocalypse", more than a thousand deaths due to Covid-19 in the last year, a suicide every two and a half days, an average that has increased due to the defeat of the economy. Behind these numbers are women, men with their history, their strengths and their weaknesses.

These are my brothers and sisters who are struggling only to have a place to live, eat, be looked after. Famine looms. Even the iconic thyme focaccia has seen its price multiplied by five as the price labels in the few remaining shops open change several times a day. A civil servant who a few months ago earned 1,450 euros today brings home only 145 more. Faced with this reality, the popular demonstrations of autumn 2019 appear distant: how far away they are ... Certainly some brave demonstrators continue on certain days to block the roads leading to Beirut or to march with protest signs. They have nothing to lose. Everything has been taken away from them, even their tears, their laughter, their dignity. I am far from them and I admire them. But a people on their knees do not get up. Instead, they first have to stand up, see the light at the end of his dark daily life to prevent the worst from happening.

I suoi figli cresciuti.

My country is dying and the international community turns a blind eye. Emmanuel Macron in his visit to Beirut quoted the poet Arthur Rimbaud: "We do not have the right to remain seated", a difficult proposition to defend in a country that is not his against the inertia of a corrupt ruling class too busy counting his wads of green bills. Even when only the ashes remain in the land of cedars, they will still be there fighting only to increase their loot. When I was a child my mother kept telling me that despite all the upheavals in its history, Lebanon has always done everything it takes to appear light-hearted to face the repeated agonies. Today I am afraid that my land and my roots have gone away with her. I admit it, sometimes I doubt this prophecy. Because I think: what if behind fear and anger, courage and resilience were no longer a miracle cure? What if "Beirut the Magnificent" fails to overcome her enemies who devour her? I can not resign myself. With this text I would like to transform myself into a modest megaphone for all those who do not speak piously, for all those who can no longer listen. I invite the inhabitants of Lebanon, the country's politicians and all those who love it, the Lebanese who live in the diaspora, the international community and humanitarian organizations to act in their place. Let's not let a country die. Let's not let the predators win. It is urgent to change the political system, to write and sign a new social contract. Let us, who are the children of Lebanon, take responsibility for it. Its grown children.

I read this bitter text and I almost hear Mika's voice.

Very calm, controlled voice. But Mika uses it when he speaks very seriously. When he wants that we hear and understand each and every word.... And these words go straight to our hearts....

I feel helpless, I feel like watching someone dying and I can't do anything.

He sais:

"When I was a child my mother kept telling me that despite all the upheavals in its history, Lebanon has always done everything it takes to appear light-hearted to face the repeated agonies. Today I am afraid that my land and my roots have gone away with her. I admit it, sometimes I doubt this prophecy".

And it scares me. But there is a little light in my heart that it's not over. I always thought that a country must overcome its problems by people. No wars, no invasions from outside. But now I wonder, what can be done yet?

Lebanon is not the only country struggling with corruption, greed, inner fights. What can we do yet?

Mika words make me proud to be his fan once again :wub2:. It is so depressing that the situation is not improving in Lebanon though :emot-sad: And the title of the article "J'accuse" gave me chills because it is a reference to a letter that the famous French writer Emile Zola wrote in the press to the French president in  1898 to defend Dreyfus who was wrongly convicted and who was innocent.

And Zola managed to change his fate thanks to his letter. It took many years but the letter really triggered so many reactions that lead to finally release Dreyfus although both army and some politicians didn't want the truth to be revealed and prefered to keep an innocent man in jail.

Emile Zola and Dreyfus family found themselves under pressure until Captain Dreyfus was finally proven innocent.

MIKA went to see Maria cassi show at Politeama Theater.

2021/05/13
La Nazione

https://www.lanazione.it/siena/cronaca/al-politeama-il-cantautore-e-showman-libanese-mika-1.6356290

At the Politeama the Lebanese singer-songwriter and showman Mika

Poggibonsese incursion for Mika (in the photo), pseudonym of Michael Holbrook Penniman Jr., the well-known Lebanese singer-songwriter and showman naturalized British. He was spotted in the streets of the historic center of the Valdelsan capital and then among the spectators of the show that inaugurated the reopening in the presence of the Politeama Theater. That is, 'Mammamia!'. By and with the Florentine actress Maria Cassi. An expert teacher in the craft of making people laugh, who in the Valdelsana evening re-enacted the characters of her most hilarious shows, in a completely new story. Between Mika and Maria Cassi it seems that there are friendships and this explains the presence of the English artist in one of the stands of the Politeama Theater. Those who spotted him say they squared him off well and that he wore black dungarees, a white hat and black anti Covid mask.

With great attention, he fully enjoyed the entire performance of Maria Cassi and then earned his exit from the theater by dispersing her traces. Recall that Mika began his rise to success in 2007 thanks to the single "Grace Kelly", which has climbed the charts of many countries. At the same time, his debut album, "Life in Cartoon Motion", also achieved great success.

Riecco visitatori, ministri e star Effetto Biennale: subito 40 mila arrivi

Visitors, ministers and stars are back. Biennale Effect: immediately 40,000 arrivals

The US appointee: the Americans are ready to return to Venice.

VENICE

Scarpiccio, trolley, races to take the vaporetto, camera clicks. Then, a moment of break from the frenzy, coming together after months and struggling to recognize each other behind the masks: the 17th International Architecture Exhibition of the Biennale brought people back to the city. For real. Yesterday, the smart control room of the Municipality registered 40 thousand visitors, of which 15 thousand were foreigners and, taking a look at the statistics of the Biennale, in the three days of pre-opening alone, 7 thousand visitors were reached, of which 2500 from abroad. And the tickets sold are already 5 thousand. It would not make sense to compare with past years, the exhibition "How will we live together?" ("How will we live together?") Marks the first international event in Venice (and in the world) regardless. Yesterday the parking lots in piazzale Roma were sold out already in the morning and hotel occupancy, compared to the 20-25 percent reported by Ava (Venetian Hoteliers Association) at the beginning of the week, rose to 30 for the weekend. The spotlight is on the city, which welcomed the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini, who arrived for the inauguration of the Italy pavilion at the Arsenale, and the Minister of Public Administration Renato Brunetta. The President of the Chamber Roberto Fico is also expected. But not only Italian politicians: stars and influencers have also been spotted.

The Lebanese naturalized British singer Mika has not stopped posting stories on Instagram: from the private tour to the Peggy Guggenheim collection to the stop at the Biennale at the Giardini, to then jump near Punta della Dogana for the inauguration of the Lebanese pavilion.

For Vuitton's lunch in the loggia of the Doge's Palace, however, there was no lack of entrepreneur Cristina Fogazzi (aka "cynical beautician", more than 800 thousand followers on Instragram) together with Paolo Stella, who are currently staying at the Danieli hotel and they are enjoying the city. Venice "paws" also for American tourists to return and, on the other hand, Americans can't wait to return to Venice. "I am very happy to be here - said Thomas Smitham, charge d'affaires of the US Embassy, during the inauguration yesterday morning of the American pavilion, accompanied by Consul General Robert Needhail - I hope this Biennale can offer us some hope. for the future, for the economic and social recovery ". And he reassured: "The Americans will arrive, Draghi declared that Italy is open. In a while there will also be a direct flight to Venice,

a further sign that we are ready to return ». Shortly after, Smitham met the mayor Luigi Brugnaro who immediately tweeted: "An opportunity to strengthen the centuries-old relations between the United States and Venice and explore new ways of collaboration".

At the same time, there was the inauguration of the Israeli pavilion, not far from the American one, in the arena dedicated to the outdoors: ten minutes, short and concise speeches, an inevitable hint of the "somewhat difficult days" we are experiencing. . Police and Digos guarded the outdoor arena, deploying men even near the pavilion. Another expedient, in the period of time in which the inauguration took place, it was not possible to climb the wooden "labyrinth" built in front of the American pavilion, which overlooks the arena itself.

Returning to the mayor, after the afternoon inauguration of the Italy pavilion, he brought with him the ministers Brunetta and Franceschini to that of the Venice pavilion in the Giardini. «Next week the Boat Show starts, we have almost tripled the boats - announced Brugnaro - There will be the tricolor arrows and the president of the Senate». A city once again under the spotlight so that it becomes, as Minister Franceschini hopes, "the capital of the contemporary".

Addio a Franco Battiato

Grazie Maestro

[portano all’essenza. I profumi d’amore inebrieranno i nostri corpi, la bonaccia d’agosto non calmerà

[i nostri sensi.
